I have several Classics Collection pieces that my DH accidently broke. Has anyone used a repair service to repair broken Classics? Do they give quotes before the repair?
I would suggest first contacting WDCC. They may have certain locations that they would recommend who are used to working with those peices.
And yes, any repair service should be able to give an estimate. They might give a non-binding estimate based on photos, but when they have the piece in hand they should give a binding estimate before starting work.
My sister used Trefler & Sons in Newton MA when her Mickey Brave Tailor's scissor's fell off. They were recommended by the folks at WDCC and by the dealer that she had originally bought the piece from. That was a few years ago, but they did an excellent job. It's hard to tell where the piece was broken.
I am so sorry about this breakage, hope you get everything fixed. I don't have any Classics Collection pieces, but do have some collectibles that are damaged, so am always interested in a recommended restoration place.
I'm so sorry to hear this bad news. I know how you feel. My son was throwing the football in the house and smashed my Maleficent wdcc figure. He's now grounded til the year 2045.
