One sad sight was at the lobby doors of the Oupost building. A sign of the times.

Welcome Home! At least we should be close to the others in the Full site group. That's something. Funny, because I specifically put comments on several of our reservations. (long site for me and Part-time-paradise and for you to be close to the CS). I guess that's why it is only a "request". Curious to see how short of a site I get.

Took me a second to catch the disappointment. I thought it was the color of the door until I looked down. Maybe I should go inside to check in and ask about buying a DVC campsite. :)

Supper has been consumed and dishes cleaned up after the golf cart parade today. I am really tired so I won't be visiting the Beach Bash tonight. Gonna share some pics, clean up, and get a good night's sleep in the AC.

To summarize, one doesn't see hardly ANY cargo trailers at the Fort in the grass side parking or overflow lots. But cars and trucks are EVERY where there is a shoulder on the side of the road to put them on. Case in point is the road between the back of cabin loop 2200 and the Comfort Station in 1100.

Before the parade I did take some pics of some decorations in the DVC 2200 cabin loop. These folks put in some effort.

Still some standing water in the middle of that loop from the rain I mentioned previously.

I had seen chairs on the side of the parade route EARLY this morning (probably put out the night before). And by parade time the crowd was thick (also golf carts on the side with the chairs). Folks buzzing up and down the road before the start.

Back in the Unhitch grass are the carts in the parade .... in the next post.

Under the watchful eye of official Po-Po,

And we were set to go in beautiful weather.

There they are.

And here they come.

Lots of clever designs and I recognized several repeats. But here are some pics.

And they kept on coming.

Great shots Ed!!! One of these days I will be there or join one of them fancy goof cart parades.

I hope you all have a great time!

If anyone has an opportunity to go to the trading posts, can you please post if they release any Fort specific Christmas merch?

Mom,

I went to the Meadow TP this morning. Currently they only have a small stand near the back foor with Mickey/Minnie plushies and small stuff. No resort specific.

Still plenty of Halloween merch which, i was told, will stay out thru the weekend.

@bama_ed Thanks for checking, I'm hoping they release a shirt like they did last year, which sold out before I got there around Thanksgiving.

Well we had a full day today - Walmart for groceries, WWOS for race bibs, lunch at the camper, MK boat ride and monorail to the Poly for a DoleWhip, and back for a bike ride before dinner. Not ToT'ing tonight, gonna fry some fish, clean up, rest, and hydrate.

Did see some crowd control steps in the Full loop area 1600-1900. Cones, one-way traffic plans, and ribbon/tape to keep pedestrians on sidewalks and off roads along Big Pine (won't work).

Also, interestingly, no CM checked for Magic Bands at 330pm this afternoon at the MK boat dock on our ride back to FW. Big crowd gathered at the MK gates for the last Halloween party night. Sheriff Orange County car under the big oak at the end of 700 on the corner.

It looks like instead of trying to "limit" the crowds, they're going to try to "manage" the crowds. LOTS of CM's at loop entrances to main roads already this afternoon with safety vests and flashlight cones also to help control traffic and crowds. Many more than I've seen in the past.

I wish them good luck. A lot of the traditional, recurring BIG setups that I've seen on past trips (few though they are) in the same general areas aren't there this year.

I'll share more pics of today in the writeup tomorrow. And then I'll also have a Wine & Dine 5K Race Report.

ED

PS - looking forward to everyone getting here on Saturday and Sunday.

Trick or Treating Update:

There was a burst of smoke from Spencer's campsite and I was about to call the Reedy Creek Fire Department but the smoke dissipated and he actually earlier had a beautiful sunset silhouette behind his campsite across from me.

About halfway through the stated ToT hours of 6-9pm. Started slow here in 2100 loop but after dark was pretty solid for about an hour now. Past H's for us in 100 and 300 loops were busier but I like sitting out here listening to the crickets.

Gonna turn in soon to clean up and prep for the 5k race tomorrow.
