Sorry. Silly and tired. Just wanted to say I'm jealous. I just priced our flight to MCO from a town 90 minutes away - $450. each. :scared1: My ticket to Atlanta in April - $500 :sad2:

Tammie - Are you saying a flight that is 90 minutes long is costing $450?! Ridiculous! This is what drives me crazy with the airlines!:headache:

Anyway, Steph, I was with you for about half way through your post, then I started getting dizzy!:rotfl: I think I understand it a little better though. I'm still going to wait it out (I think - unless my compulsiveness takes over). If something cheap pops up sooner rather than later, I'll jump on it and then if I get the ding, I'll try to work that in also. I just didn't know if it's worth doing the ding, because all that does is credit back your money to use on another booking w/in the year, right? Don't even know if I would be flying anywhere w/in a year - although a credit would be a good excuse to do it!;)

Happy Sunday all. We're getting ready to watch the Giants/Packers game here - having some friends over and eating junk food. I still love my Jersey Giants even though I've been living in Mass. for 15 yrs.now!:cheer2:

Hi Ladies,
How is everyone! I was at a bowling birthday party yesterday and today I have a wedding shower. Get this...in my invite for the shower a note came with it that said in lieu of gifts please make a contribution to our dream vacation.... ..Thoughts??????

I am irritated with airfare also...wanted to do Florida in March airfare would have been over $300.00 a piece, looking to send DH to Phoenix waited too long and it went from $270 to $400... Now I am looking at Florida at the end of May so we will see…
I still have to book that flight to PHX so now I am waiting and hoping it goes down after this weekend. Maybe when it gets colder here they up the airfare to warm places from here because they know we are going INSANE!!!!

The DING stuff was making my head spin too but I always feel like I should be all over that!

Tammie, I didn’t get your PM but I do have to figure out an order. I didn’t get who you were catching up with from England?? A friend of yours? I was confused. Sorry. Also, I thought my airfare prices were bad...YIKES!

Steph...thanks for the info. I always appreciate some new info to save me money. How is everything going on your end?

Cammie, I am just like you. Until everything is booked I am out of my mind but I also hate to rush and then get ripped off!! You still have time. Stick around those transportation bords...that will help. That gang always saves me lots of money when it comes time to rent a car! Love them!

Stay warm and safe everyone.

Please humor me and note that right now as I am typing that weather ticker above says ZERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I wish I could stay inside today!!!!

Sorry for giving everyone a headache! :headache: The first time I was given instructions, the same thing happened, but once I did the steps and looked at it, it made more sense. SW really makes you work for the savings.

And yes, unless you book the more expensive business class refundable fares, any extra $$ would be a SW credit. We fly alot, so we can usually use them up, or we give them to my mom (my big brother lives in CA and he refuses to step foot in NY anytime other than July and August).

We are freezing here, too. Under a wind chill advisory. As long as our power stays on, that is fine with me. I work at home, so I just hunker down in the house.

I ended up having to redo our entire trip for May. DH is grounded to work now, DS13 may have to stay home for school (his progress reports were not good), and my sister has decided to go to Vegas. So now Mom, me, DD15, DD4, and DS3 are going for just 7 days. DS13 is a maybe if his next report card is back up to par. I redid the room, cancelled and booked a few different ADR's. So far, so good.

I rec'd my itinerary confirmation from AKL concierge for our July trip for our anniversary (it was VERY tough handing THAT over to them). I wanted Teppan Edo for lunch the first day and then Cali Grill for a late dinner. When they sent back the info BEFORE they booked, they had Teppan Edo at 11:30 am. Not gonna work, we land at 10. So I asked for 1:30.

The itinerary had Teppan Edo at 7:30 pm :confused3 and Cali Grill at 9 pm. I know people can make mistakes, but they didn't pick up on that?? Really??

The good news is everything else was EXACTLY the times I asked for, to the minute. And they are very helpful, so I am pretty confident they will fix this for me.

Debbie- While I am one who would always rather give a gift that someone wants, rather than just a "thing", I think it is somewhat tacky to tell people what to give you. I understand they may already own everything that you normally get at a shower. My sister had the same problem. She had lived on her own for almost 10 years, her fiance owned his own home. They had towels and such. She did register for a china pattern. Otherwise, when people asked my mom, me, or my other sister what she may want, we THEN said "well, they have many of the things they need, so maybe...insert several suggestions here, or they also have a fund for their honeymoon with the travel agent."

We are somewhere around 10 degrees. I have no idea what the wind chill is, and I don't think I want to know, because it is whipping pretty bad out there. :scared1:

It will be 77 in Orlando tomorrow. DH was kind enough to point that out. :sad2: I wanna go back right now!!

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant that I needed to drive 90 minutes to catch a 6am flight that costs $450. We have an airport, but it is an extra $100 plus an extra layover. I would just like to see $200 - just wishin' :rolleyes1

I understand if she had things, but it does seem tacky to say "in lieu of..." My DS and his wife did register for their honeymoon cruise at the travel agent, and they didn't put it in their invitation, but when people asked, that was one of the places we said they were registered.

Sorry, I will PM you tonight - not very attentive of me :)

My friend from England is someone I was best friends with here in Oregon before I got married. She met her DH online - he is in charge of computers for BBC. Anyway, her Dad lives here in the town where my DS lives - my company just opened in the UK, so she came here to see her dad, and get some training from herself and her DD while she is here - plus we got to catch up! Can you imagine being the first one in to a country with a great product? She has a really great opportunity! We have had alot of fun. DH is here, too - got to spend some time with my DS and his little family - went to Olive Garden tonight - we don't have one where we live - going home tomorrow.

Have a great week, everyone! Tessa! You are getting really close! Are you packed yet? :dance3:

Hiya all,

just a quick look in - sounds like it's getting COLD over there, we are just wet - loads of flooding again, but not affecting us at the moment....finger's crossed.

We have 76 days to go , so noooooo not packed yet - still doing my "planning" - busy days, which park when, etc - doing a table of when everything is open and running etc.....

got footwear sorted so the kids and I can wear in their sandals and crocs - we all have odd feet which seem to get blisters if shoes aren't worn in slowly.... got to go get the girls, didn't realise the time...oops

Cheers,
Tessa

Hi Gang...Quick fly by since I wasted a lot of time doing NOTHING this morning when I should have been cleaning.....

Listen to what happened to me though(it was kind of scary)......I was on the computer when all of a sudden I burst out of my seat and started screaming at the kids to clean up, and how I was so tired of cleaning and this is ridiculous...yada yada. After about 20 minutes of me ranting I got the squiggly eyed dizzy feeling followed by an awful migrane! Isn't that weird? Thoughts? Do you think it was all one thing or do you think me losing my temper like a crazy person caused the migrane???
I AM a nut job!
Be back later I hope. I feel guilty now so I think I am going to bring the kids swimming at the YMCA so we can forget how cold it is here!!!!

I know what you mean about the airfare price changes. Our fares to Orlando for May on SW have been $137, $153, $99, $114, $110, and $89. All since they opened up fares until August about a week or so ago!!!

It is making me absolutely crazy. I finally booked last night at $89. Luckily with SW, I can always rebook if they fall again.

Okay, last week I realized that DS has two weeks off for spring break, so I tried to price out flights for a last minute trip to WDW for just DS and I - $1210 each.:scared1: I know it's spring break, but come on...:headache:

I shouldn't complain, though -- it is 75 degrees outside... ;)

I don't even think twitchy explains it. I am going crazy I have been buying things here and there and my DH is asking me for the count down by the way 68 days to go. ADR's are booked and now I am on my diet to fit back into my pre maternity summer clothes (last summers clothes). How is everyone else doing?

Debbie! You need a hug - Or some chocolate. Or some hormone cream - I have some. Anyway - probably just a wierd mood swing - don't worry unless it is a constant thing - then check item #3. I was your age when it started - I'm doing great now!

Isn't it funny how we can keep finding little things we "need" for our trips - things that aren't in the original budget? You are getting close! :woohoo:

Hi Tessa! Glad you are having fun with your planning. A "table" oooooh you are a super planner!!! :thumbsup2 Good job!

Hey everyone -- just stopping in to say HI. :wave2:

I've been lurking over on the DCL boards - there is so much information there :surfweb:

I'm beginning to feel a little "twitchy" myself - we're at 151 days and counting. I'm starting to worry about packing (I'm a notorious overpacker) and picking the right shore excursions - so many decisions... Also, add me to list of people trying to lose weight for my trip. Ugh.

Let the worrying begin !!!

We should start a weight loss challenge:idea:

Hey! I have a team here - you don't have to be using our products, but we are looking for people who want to be on our team - we are competing for a $1000 spa gift certificate individually, and $400 locally. We need to sign people up on our team so we can compete with a team from another town. If we all sign up and track our starting wt and lbs. lost until the end of March, we can compete. We are supporting each other, there are recipes available, etc. PM me if you want to be a part of our team - we need 4 more to compete! I have lost 3 lbs. in a week. :thumbsup2

Just a quick note - I will hop on later and get caught up from the weekend and the past couple of days.

My mom's surgery was Monday and we found out that she is cancer free. She did have some complications, took 21 units of blood and ended up having to go back into surgery Monday night to stop internal bleeding. It was pretty scary. She was having trouble breating, and the thing that is really bothering me is that she said that she just wanted to give up.

I spent the day w/her yesterday and she is doing much better. Her color was back. They are going to get her up out of bed today. I am going back to work but am going to visit her on my lunch time and on my way home. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers and pixie dust. I love ya'll! More later...

Oh Pam...How yucky! I hope she recovers quickly and gets stronger every day. I am so happy for you that she is CANCER FREE!!!!!!!!

I just read the opening of this thread - hello, I'm home!

Yes, I am a control freak, worry wart, etc. I don't like to fly, because it's out of my control, I don't like to ride with other people (oooh, I'm a bad backseat driver!).

My latest is worrying over our upcoming trip to WDW - grand gathering with DH's family. I posted something similar in the Families thread. But I'm really worried about going with other people who will do one of two things: 1) rely on us for everything since we're the "experts" or 2) try to do everything their own way just to spite us and prove us wrong. DH and I have already said that it's going to be very hard to keep our mouths shut. Oh, and did I mention that my SIL makes Maleficent look sweet? And she has a 4 year old and an 8 month old (ages when we go) that I'm sure will be a "burden" for her and she'll try to pawn them off on her parents (who are paying for this trip!). Yup, you'll see her there. She'll be the one that takes 10 minutes to fold up her stroller right before getting on the bus, and she'll be the one that stops in the middle of the rows so she can be front and center. Because it's all about her. I'll be the one cowering in the back, embarassed by her behavior. I told DH that if it's that bad, we can always just head to World Showcase and DRINK!

We plan on taking care of tips and drinks at dinners (we are on the DDP) but I'm sure that we will be the only ones. SIL and her husband don't open their wallets very much, instead always crying POOR, but they'll all have new brand name sneakers, etc. Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhh! Why do I let them do this to me???? Funny thing is tha FIL will get fed up with the behavior and walk away, while MIL thinks it's all her fault and will apologize - what's up with that???

I just know that when we say we're going to be getting to the parks when they open, that the rest of the family is going to get mad and want us to wait with them. This is not going to be good. Where is my positive attitude???
