Shout out to this random dude who not only attempted a heel kick jump this close to the end of a half marathon, but actually pulled it off safely, and actually got the picture proof!

She mentioned it the week previously, too, and in the video she made this cutesy motion that seems very Princess to me, so I’d been looking for her all weekend… only to see her running past me on the other side of World Dr this morning! She really managed to keep this a secret.

Oh I don’t blame anyone for using the men’s restroom. The women’s line was crazy. They needed more restrooms on the road leading up to MK. I think the first med tent people were a little annoyed with all the runners using their restroom. The lady on the bullhorn was yelling at people that it was supposed to be for people getting medical attention only.

Some hot takes whilst I pound coffee because my body refused to nap post-race…

I MADE IT TO THE LIGHTPOLE! It’s only happened twice, so this is momentous.

That Poly/GF section was insane. Someone get a special medal to that bus driver standing in the middle of the course shouting “POTHOLE” so we didn’t get hurt. Shoutout, too, to the woman ahead of me who pulled out a flashlight to light the way for many of us.

I was surprised by how well I was able to move through most of the course from mid-D! It was crowded, but the crowd really was moving well for the first half of the race. The wheels came off some later, but most folks did a really great job of paying attention and speeding up/slowing down safely. That said…

Men running with your Princesses: your job may be to provide support, but that does NOT mean pushing through people to create a path for your Princess. Not cool my dudes.

Two awesome things they need to keep:

Cinderella, Charming, and Fairy Godmother standing on the back of castle. That was SO COOL.

The Fairy Godmothers in training sprinkling pixie dust at the end of the course.

Such little things that really make the runDisney difference.

Things that sucked: WHY WAS THERE A LINE OF BUSSES IN THE ALREADY AWFUL CONSTRUCTION ZONE???

while I was waiting to use the bathroom after the magic kingdom parking lot, there was a woman who REALLY needed to go, so she went behind the porta-potta. Which was fine until she stood up and managed to moon a monorail

That was the same stop that someone on the floor of a porta-potty I think

So that the hero bus driver lady could save us from the 2-3 inch deep pothole that was big enough for both her feet to fit in comfortably, obviously!

Honestly, I have no idea why they chose to line it with buses. They at least could’ve mounted lights on the side of the buses or something.

I also hooked up with a lady willing to run with her phone flashlight on for about half of that section.

There was another bad spot after we came out of Magic Kingdom, backstage just before the little downhill. The lady behind me almost went down. And that was after it was light outside.
