I was just reading hat thread also.. UGH I don't think I want to go now. We pay alot of money to stay at Disney there shouldn't be bugs or roaches

I'm afraid to ask - but what thread? Do I dare read it? I'm one of those people who would rather stay somewhat naive about certain things that I enjoy - ex. - I love McDonalds - really don't want to know how they cook everything!:rotfl:

ps - Lisa - yes, that is my neighborhood. My property is a decent size for Northeast standards - a little under 2 acres. Loved the space when I was married; now that I have to maintain it - not so much!

it's a thread about bedbugs at Disney and all over Yuck I tore my sheets off the bed and the crib etc... EWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Hi Ladies,
How is everyone? I am cold and crabby today (what else is new).

soontobewed07……..
Gross!! I have to admit though we DID see these at All-star Movies when we were there in November…I got over it by telling myself they were a native bug of Florida and it wasn’t because the establishment wasn’t clean.

Camster0307……….. How are you holding up in the snow? We are getting a little now but mostly just cold with more bitter cold around the corner! Thanks for sharing your pix. I always love to see pix of anything from you guys. It helps me know you all better.

Tessa…. Glad you are an examiner! I feel bad because I DID smoke from about Junior year in high school until I was about 22 and now I am one of those “I don’t understand why people still smoke” people. My DHs sisters all smoke (3 of them). DH does not. They all have one health issue or another and none of them will ever put two & two together that the main problem is the smoking! IT DRIVES ME INSANE! I just hate it!

Disneyohana
......Glad you are back! I hope DH can do it!!! Quit smoking that is. I know it is BEYOND hard but I just believe it should be done more than ever when kids are involved. JMHO

pbharris4............. I just went and redeemed my gymbucks! LOVE the new rainbow line. I even am holding off on some more of it to buy when I use my Rise & Shine.

Lovin Life............ Glad you are back! Glad all is well. Good to hear from you again!

Tammie............ Where are ya?? That little doggie didn’t do away with you did he???

Hi everyone!! I am still not back into the swing of things! I WILL go back and read what I missed out on!

Thanks for all of the well wishes and thoughts for my mom. You all are the best! It’s been worrying me, but I am trying to stay positive. It’s not easy. I ended up telling my DD’s because they heard some talking about it, and that is making it harder for me. I didn’t want to tell them until after the surgery and results, but DH is staying home w/them now on Monday so I can be w/my dad in the waiting room.

Well, good news – my brother and his wife just found out that their baby is 8lbs, 6oz, and they are going to be induced on Thursday next week! I will finally be an aunt! I hate that my mom is going to be in the hospital and miss out on it. I know that she wanted to be in the waiting room. I wonder if she will and can postpone her surgery until the next week? Just a thought.

I better start sewing like crazy! I am cross stitching a baby quilt, which was a last minute decision. Maybe my niece will have it by her 2th month! I just started it last week, thinking I had until the end of January!

Debbie – You Gymboree-aholic! I miss those days! Now, I cannot even give input to either daughter’s choice of clothing. I can put restrictions on it, but God forbid I give my opinion! Those days are gone, at least for awhile! Right now, Megan is grounded for her 4-day weekend, of doing any type of social activity, for some 0’s that she is repeatedly getting in a couple of her classes. She is still pulling A’s and B’s, and she cannot understand why we are upset about the 0’s. I think it’s just going to get more challenging! The girls will be home by themselves tomorrow. They can sleep late, lounge and watch TV. I am sure my phone will be ringing off the hook at work!

Cammie – The snow, and your house and property is just beautiful!!! I am so jealous! We are having the cold weather right now, but not any precip. I wish that we would, just for a couple of days! I finally got my Photopass CD. I need to open it and make sure that it is OK. I’m awful. The plan is to do it this weekend.

Tessa – Hiya, and Hey ho! Your trip will be here before you know it! There are NOT any bugs or other bad things at DisneyWorld!! It’s too magical of a place!pixiedust:

Pam – Thank you for the words of encouragement about my Mom and the story about your dad. That is so great that you had extra time with him. I am worried, and like I said, having my girls worry about it makes it worse, but for the most part, and most of the time, I do feel pretty positive about it. I believe that my mom is keeping a positive attitude as well.

Lisa – I am glad that your mom is doing better. Good luck w/your hubby’s quitting smoking. My DH dips snuff. I just cannot comprehend how, when he hears about others close to us possibly having cancer, he will not quit. He thinks he’s invincible. Stay tough. I guess we know what we put them thru on a monthly basis when they are going thru the quitting stage? On second thought, maybe I don’t want him to quit….I really do though.

Hi to anyone I’ve missed!

:grouphug:

Sorry I've been MIA lately -- things are still hectic and crazy around here. I really need to work on my time management skills...:rolleyes1

Aloha -- keahi

I am making my way thru what I have missed out on. Keahi - my words exactly. Then, once I was behind, I didn't feel comfortable jumping back on. Crazy, I know. I am just regretful that I missed all of the goings on around here during the holidays!

Well, I am glad to be back!...Pam2

This thread is for me I cannot believe I have missed it this long...LOL I have been planning our 12/08 trip since last March. There will be 10 of us and I am freaking out. I want to make sure everyone gets what they want to eat stay play etc... We are also planning a March 08 trip and I am stressed about that because we are not going to book until taxes come in.

Nice to meet you, Jillian! Scary thing is, 12/08 will be here before you know it, if time flies for you as much as it does for me. I am sure you've figured out your're in the right place. I've been absent for awhile, but this is the best bunch of disers and friends!

Pam2

Here's some :sunny: for you guys, too. I always feel guilty during the winter reading about how cold it is where you all live. Don't hate me because I live in paradise ;).

Aloha – keahi

I hate you, too! Just kidding! My mom always wanted to move back to Hawaii. We were there until I was 4. I don't remember it! You are lucky!

TGIF! I haven’t posted in awhile, and now it’s only me posting. I must drive you all crazy.

I finished scanning all of the posts I missed. Talk of snow, Christmas, New Year’s, being sick, Hawaii and visiting (or moving in with?) Keahi, more snow, quitting smoking, families, face products, annoying controlling sports parents (or parents in general), cruises, Disney trips, bugs at DW (although I refuse to think that it is even possible-denial), more snow. I missed you all.

I just cannot find time to do all of the things that I like to and want to do, and sometimes I struggle with that! I work full time, about 13 miles from my home, but a drive that is about 45 mins one way, after I drop by girls off at different schools in the AM. DH picks one up from after school care, and one walks or gets a ride home. I’ve talked before about our activities, but I also like to crochet, cross stitch, dis!, play the Wii (that was a huge hit with the family by the way!), make homemade greeting cards, cook decent meals for my family and bake, play w/my new Nintendo DS, read, and I want to, make that NEED to, work out. I want to sign up for a yoga class at the rec center. I would like to learn how to use my sewing machine to it’s fullest. I would like to hem all of the pants hanging in my closet w/the hems undone. My girls just outgrow theirs before I have a chance to do it. The list is endless. My to do’s take forever to get done, or never get done and become pointless or forgotten. There’s all of those things that have to be done on the weekends, like dogs to the vet, their nails trimmed, oil changes and car batteries to be installed (I have to get one tonight). There just isn’t enough time in the days and weekends to do everything that I have to do, let alone what I WANT to do. I enjoy it all (well, not the pet and car maintenance), but I want to do more! Short of not getting any sleep or very little, which I cannot do, or can do for awhile but it catches up w/me, I don’t know how to do it.

I am really feeling it lately. I had to vent! Being at my mom’s for so long over the holidays didn’t help me, but I am so glad that I spent that time w/my grandma, and my mom. Do any of you ever feel the same?

I need to change my signature this weekend. I still have Christmas!

I feel like this a lot too but I don't work so that helps. I do have the bulk of the day but I STILL don't get anything done!!!!!!! I procrastinate and procrastinate!!!!
Glad youy're back...hopefully I will post more later. Just came home from a cold busy day!

Pam2 - I don't work but I still feel busy all day. If I am not cleaning or doing bills I try to spend time playing w/DD. Then I want to spend time w/DH. I do have more time than you I am sure. I didn't get as much done while my mom was in the hospital but I spent a lot of time w/her and that was really nice. We sometimes had 6 people in the room and we were all laughing together. Spending time w/family is more important than a few of the chores that I didn't get done.

Jillian - I just read about your 2 trips. We did a group of 9 of us and although there were moments I wished we could have all been together I knew it was best that we split up sometimes. The first full day we went to CRT for breakfast and the rest of the family wanted to start out the day at EPCOT. At first I didn't like that we weren't going to be w/all of them. It turned out for the best because me,DH, and DD had the time of our lives. It was a perfect morning at the MK. I think the reason things went so well is because we talked enough beforehand. We had lists of what we wanted to do each day and then we each compared our list w/the others. We each compromised a little and we each could pick one ride where everyone went on together. It was a great vacation.
Your other vacation is coming up soon. Lucky duck. :yay:

Tessa - We were at Disney before when the flying bugs were mating. It wasn't as bad as people say. It is funny though to see the bugs look like they are stuck together from their behinds. :rotfl:

Cammie - I understand about the clean up in landscaping. We have a lot of landscaping and my DH doesn't have as much time to do it w/overtime during some parts of the year. I do not like cleaning up leaves w/wolf spiders in them. And I almost pass out when mowing the lawn sometimes.

Hiya all,

Pam2 -We are so alike -I also am into so many crafts etc - life seems to have not enough time in every day - I only work one hour a day, and never seem to finish anything!! Do you have an "I'll finish that one day" cupboard?? Mine is overflowing!! (Confession - I also have an overflowing "I'll start that one day" cupboard!!:lmao:)

But I am now on the pre trip emergency diet - living off nervous energy I think -does anyone else get really twitchy with a couple of months to go..... So, I think doing the crafts might stop me having hands free for eating, whilst still giving me time to think about planning!! Ideal!

Must go check which days are busiest at which parks etc- love the internet..... Can you feel the twitchyness (is that a word??).

Hope you all have a nice weekend....
Tessa

I know how you feel. I just started back at work Part time (EMT) so I work 12 hour days and with cleaning the house planning a trip getting summer clothes in the middle of winter. I am exhausted:headache: I got a sewing machine for Christmas and it is still in the box. I have no clue how to use it and wanted to sign up for classes. I too am fighting the gym war. I am at my heaviest post baby and I need to loose weight to fit in my summer clothes about 20 lbs in 2 months Any good tips? Ideas?

I am the official trip planner (Lucky Me) We will be hitting CP our first day for Breakfast and MK is going to be our first park. Knowing us( just my parents,Dsis,DB,my DH,LO and Myself) I am sure the kids will be off by themselves. I will make ADR's and use TGM to help plan my days. I might be asking you alot of questions.

Hi Ladies! I don't know where I've been all week. I was checking in, but this thread didn't come in as an update for some reason, so I thought you must all be busy - you were. posting. :rotfl2: Update on the dog:

Our bedroom gets really cold at night, and she is really old, so I put an electric throw on the floor for her to sleep on. She slept so soundly that she was snoring. I woke up at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep, so I went out to the den to watch some Nick at Night and get sleepy. at about 4:30, DH came out and said, "what is that noise? Sounds like something scraping on the house - maybe one of the dogs got locked out! " No, everything is fine - I don't know what you heard. He went to the living room to watch ESPN - I went back to bed - to the DIS :goodvibes . I discovered the noise was the little dog snoring! :lmao: Anyway, we did fine and DILs father came and got her the next day as he was in town and on his way back over the mountain so he brought her to them! Okay, another guilt trip - I am at DSs this weekend - the little dog got a haircut - DS says that the big dog (the one that wasn't welcome) brought home fleas from the "sitter" and both dogs had to be treated - house cleaned, etc. :sad2: Got to be quite a fiasco!

Pam2! Welcome Back! We are always happy to hear from you! Sounds like you are really busy. I don't know how you fit it all in!

Pam - Hi! I will be going to Atlanta in April - it will be here before we know it! Nice to hear from you again, too!

Sewer, Keahi! Hi! Drop in once in awhile - Keahi we need the sunshine!

Debbie - I'm still here! I'm glad you liked the eye cream. I was like you with my skin, too! I saw lines I didn't like, but everything burned me or broke me out! This product balanced me and cleared me up. I wonder what the ingredients were in the moisturizers you tried. Alot of them have had mineral oil in them - bad. It is designed to clog the pores and hold moisture in. 2nd most aging for your skin after the sun :scared1: We've been paying for these companies to age us - AND it is petroleum. I don't know if natural botanical products would work for you or not. Some people prone to breakouts will break out. Sometimes it is just until the toxins are out of their skin, and sometimes it just isn't right for them. Some people panic and won't see if it will clear up. I'll PM you. Hope it gets better quickly!

Tessa - you sound just like me with your "someday" cupboards! I whittled it down to one of those 5 years ago when we moved to this house, and haven't really bought any more crafts - (ooo, not true - now I scrapbook) so when I vacated my officed for the babies - I am not sure where those things went- DH probably threw them away. :rotfl: Your snow day sounds perfect! Sometimes ours is like that. Not this year - we have about two feet solidly on the ground. It has melted off the streets in some places, but it has been so cold at night that it is all crusty and there to stay awhile, I'm afraid. We are expecting more tomorrow!

"Twitchy" hmmm? I get that way, too! I call it "antsy" (like, "ants in my pants - can't sit still") Last May with my job and my business, I was so busy trying to be caught up before we left that I felt like I was going crazy - I am looking forward to much calmer trip planning this year! Maybe I'll have time to be antsy then :rotfl:

Cammie - Your pics look like a Christmas card! Nice you have some little helpers! We lived on 1 1/2 acres before this house - we decided we didn't want to care for it when we got old - so now we have a tiny yard.

Lisa - Praying for your mom. I'm glad she is recovering well from her surgery.

Jillian! How is the planning going? You must be "twitchy" like Tessa!

I was wondering about Maureen, too! She is probably lurking, so only say nice things about her! :goodvibes Hi Maureen! :grouphug:

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND, EVERYONE!!! I'm here to see my friend from England! We had alot of fun catching up yesterday!

Happy Saturday everyone! Just sitting here enjoying my coffee and the peace & quiet. Will have to get the girls up soon, so thought I'd jump on first.

Ok, here's my vent for the week. I've spent a good time these past two weeks searching out airfare for our surprise trip to WDW in June. I cannot believe how much the price goes up and down from day-day! So annoying. I'm anxious to get something booked; but the prices are not that great right now. I've been over on the transportation boards trying to get some opinions. First, let me say the people over there are fantastic - so-o-o helpful. I actually had posters looking for cheap flights for me and then pm-ing with the info. - I highly recommend going over there if you have ANY travel-related questions. Those folks know what they're doing!

Anyway, right now, I have someone telling me to hold tight on booking - that late-spring and early summer fares usually go down a little in Feb. This is someone who says they were a travel agent for years. I just can't stand not having my flight booked yet. This is sooo not me. I mean, I already have my flights booked for our trip in Nov. - which, BTW, I got a GREAT price for!:woohoo: (one good thing that's come out of this obsessive planning!) I'm back and forth - should I or shouldn't I? I'm convincing myself that I should just wait it out a little longer. Afterall, the theme of this trip for me is "Doing things differently" - staying at a different resort; different time of year; eating at different restaurants; and, I guess, booking my flights differently?:confused3

I can't stand not having this scheduled already!

Cammie-

I know what you mean about the airfare price changes. Our fares to Orlando for May on SW have been $137, $153, $99, $114, $110, and $89. All since they opened up fares until August about a week or so ago!!!

It is making me absolutely crazy. I finally booked last night at $89. Luckily with SW, I can always rebook if they fall again.

I am on the transport board alot myself and I agree, there are some experts over there. I reviewed the DING thread for last year and there were some good sales in Feb/March for late Spring and I know there was a big July sale last year with some $39 fares for SW sometime in March.:)

I am always a nut about airfare. I just like to get it over and done with.

Steph - Can you explain the SW "ding". I was advised to download it - which I did - put it in the airports I'm interested in & I get my daily list of sale flights. What I don't understand is, if I purchase my tix, and then get a "ding" that is lower, do I call SW for a credit on my flight? And, it seems alot of the dings are for travel on Mon,Wed., or Friday - any ever for a Sunday?

I'd appreciate anything you could enlighten me with!:)

If you do get a DING, you can do everything online. Here is how I do it:
I open 2 browser windows. One, I go to southwest.com main page, the other, I click the DING "book now" button for the flight I want. I then enter all the information for the reservation...right up to the part where you pay.

On the southwest.com page that I have in the other window, I then cancel the original reservation. This will give you "TTF" or ticketless travel funds from the original reservation.

In the pay window of the new reservation, you can then enter the confirmation number of the reservation you cancelled and use those TTFs to pay for it. Since it will be cheaper, you will then not have to enter a CC or anything, just click "purchase now" or whatever.

I know, very convoluted, but what I did before the first time was go through the motions of it without cancelling anything(I did not even enter the conf # so I wouldn't do anything inadvertently), just opening the window to see what it looked like. I think some people do get the DING up in their browser, then call to cancel with SW, but I have always done it all online.

For a sale, that is much easier. In that case, you can just pull up your reservation, hit change, and rebook. You will keep the same reservation number and everything.

The DING is more complicated because you have to click through the DING window to book a DING. Big PITA!!!

I try to get it set so that I can cancel and rebook fairly quickly, since I am always worried the DING will sell out before I rebook.

I hope I did not just confuse you further.
