4 days on the Wish. Hurricane seasonWhat ship, season, and itinerary is your first DCL sailing? It should definitely be better that CCL in a tropical storm, but some itineraries are generally smoother than others…I always recommend shorter itineraries that are all or mostly port days for a first sailing to see if you actually tolerate being at sea (also, packing seasickness meds, just in case).
Also, keep tabs on the advance booking windows— the first sailing makes it more challenging to reserve stuff, but there’s plenty to do on the ship if you don’t reserve anything—however, everyone one has an equal chance of reserving the (free) Royal Gathering at the 30 day window and if you have kids it’s something they may want to do (and will have to walk by other kids doing, if you miss it).
It’s so funny you say this because my son fell down multiple times leaving our BLT room this trip. He generally isn’t any clumsier than a typical kid.Serious question…
Does the carpet at BLT try to trip anyone else?

Usually they are pretty good about diverting from hurricanes….I assume you will be in port 3 of the 4 days? We’ve done several cruises in fall on 3 day weekends and haven’t had more than a few hours of rough sailing total…the ship will move a bit more as the night goes on but most people are asleep (or so inebriated they don’t notice) by then.4 days on the Wish. Fantastic itinerary. The islands are my favorite part of the cruise line.We have one day at Castaway, one day at Lookout, and one day at sea.
For real I tripped 3 times, over seemingly nothing. Hope he didn’t hurt a knee. It’s so funny you say this because my son fell down multiple times leaving our BLT room this trip. He generally isn’t any clumsier than a typical kid.
He is totally fine, but it was comical by the end of the stay. Something about that carpet! For real I tripped 3 times, over seemingly nothing. Hope he didn’t hurt a knee.

How are you getting back home? Hopefully you can monorail or boat back.I scored a Topolinos! So I will take the Skyliner over to RIV in April and then bus to MK from there. Since we are gonna take it slow in April might as well do DVC research too!

Didnt think that far ahead. I took the bus back to BW from MK once. I dont remember wanting to jump off so there's that. How are you getting back home? Hopefully you can monorail or boat back.
Sounds good then you can walk or boat back from thereYou know what.. I will take the bus back to RIV for the full RIV / MK transport experience. Then Skyliner back to BW. My son asked to go on the Skyliner 30 times this last trip, and I had to be like no dude there is no time or reason for that!

We are gonna go to all the parks. Just not making rides and parks a priority and for sure not rope droppingSounds good then you can walk or boat back from there
Now how to incorporate getting onto the monorail to knock off another mode of transport with you not going into the parks![]()
Back in May I did take monorail from MK over to Epcot to cut through to Skyliner for HS. Um yeah that walk gate to gate in Epcot is FAR.Sounds good then you can walk or boat back from there
