Final report! - Cant believe I booked Super Bowl weekend -

Guys.. I never ever thought I would say this. I’m not really excited to go to Disneyland in 1 week. Did I finally over do it and out Disney myself??!!!! 😫😫

I am exhausted. Unpacking to pack again. I’m sure I’ll come around.
Due to some questionable planning and weird school calendar, we once got of a DCL sailing in FL and realized we’d be boarding a different sailing lesson than 10 days later in San Diego. I was almost dreading it and husband was not pleased when he figured it out.

We still had a good second cruise and once actually on the trip the “rebound stress” is gone….now I’m back to wishing we could allocate enough vacation days to cruise more than 3x a year…but probably won’t do not quite back to back again!

I can't wait to get on a ship and see what the fuss is about!

Not necessarily. As alluded to above, a good chunk of the roughness is the programming of the ride vehicle itself. It doesn't need to be quite as dramatic as Dino was, and I suspect it won't be.
Likely true. But Indiana isn’t exactly a smooth ride. They need to add the motion to enhance the experience. Otherwise it would be a boring dark ride

Sounds amazing though. Back to back cruises 😍

I think it’s the flight I’m dreading the most.

I do think that Mexican Riviera cruise sounds awesome

ETA: I meant Disney "land" trips generically, not "DisneyLand" trips. So sailing out of both coasts :)
Oops! I really would love to do Alaska. I’m getting ahead of myself though, high probability I will board the ship and be like let me ooffff!!!

I agree, I see about equal opportunity that I will love it or hate it when the time comes.

Have you cruised other brands before?
My dad took my 2 nieces on a Carnival cruise decades ago, and invited my wife and me. I was pretty underwhelmed with the ports as I remember. Also we got caught in the waves of a tropical storm and were confined to our room and massively seasick. So overall a terrible experience. No where to go but up from there!

I've never cruised since, so I'm looking forward to a better experience!

What ship, season, and itinerary is your first DCL sailing? It should definitely be better that CCL in a tropical storm, but some itineraries are generally smoother than others…I always recommend shorter itineraries that are all or mostly port days for a first sailing to see if you actually tolerate being at sea (also, packing seasickness meds, just in case).

Also, keep tabs on the advance booking windows— the first sailing makes it more challenging to reserve stuff, but there’s plenty to do on the ship if you don’t reserve anything—however, everyone one has an equal chance of reserving the (free) Royal Gathering at the 30 day window and if you have kids it’s something they may want to do (and will have to walk by other kids doing, if you miss it).

Oh no. I probably would have not cruised again either. Your next will be much better I’m sure.
