In case you don’t know. It’s a snack from McKims DVC lounge.
I have seen cheez its every single time ive been to the lounge. Im starting to wonder if cheez its sponsors the lounges. There's always something else, pretzels or oreos or rice krispies in rotation, but cheez-its never goes away

She didn’t at first, I think this was the the first time this ever happened to her. After she finally got ahold of someone for a tow she went back into character. I was worried they wouldn’t tow us through the tomb but they did and she was back to the normal jokes.
I love when the rides bread down and we get a back stage view! One if my favorites is a space mountain breakdown!

A Saturday with absolutely gorgeous weather that came off a week of some of the coldest weather central Florida has seen in over 10 years. That probably explains it.

I really wanted to do the Epcot extended evening hours for deluxe resort guests this past Monday, but we went too hard Sunday and Monday and ended up skipping it. Instead, me and my 2 boys had a delightful time in the Boulder Ridge pool and hot tub where we were literally the only ones in the entire pool and hot tub for about 2 hours.

Of course, temps were probably in the mid-40s and I imagine dropped into the 30s before midnight too. 🤣
I just cant with Florida weather in January, its way too unpredictable. December is "everyone is sick" month which is too bad because I LOVED Jollywood nights, its seriously my favorite after hours event.

I think good ol september is gunna be my main time to travel to wdw! I need to pick a second time which im hoping is may cuz of the lower points even tho apparently its lovebug season. I still cant wait to experience them!!

Okay. I can’t even make this stuff up.

We leave HS. I was so tired. We start walking to the buses, we pass the Skyliner and I scoff ugh, wegotta go find our bus. We get to our bus and hardly any line!! Bus arrives immediately!!

Im thinking this isn’t so bad. We finally exit to the streets and then I realize we are going to Wilderness Lodge first. Ugh shared bus routes. Im thinking if we were staying here we would be “home” by now. I whisper to DH how I much a hate the bus . We start our drive to Contemporary and I’m thinking to myself and calculating how many buses I would have to take if we were at CCV.

In my tired delirium I conclude I should sell my CCV and buy more Boardwalk because that for sure keeps me on less buses and I am missing BW so bad. Then I’m like no you love CCV don’t be dramatic right now.

We start to turn left.. wait… is this Magic Kingdom??? The bus load starts to clamor “we should be going to Contemporary”! Bus driver apologizes and says she ran the MK route earlier and made a mistake. So we have to wait in a long line of buses to leave MK.

Okay we are back on the street. Driving… driving… wait isn’t that the Contemporary we are passing? Yep. We keep driving… finally make a left turn. We are back at Wilderness Lodge. Eventually we get to Contemporary. Total trip was around 1 hour.

I’m not mad. We were soo tired from the bus ride we couldn’t help but laugh our butts off at what just happened.
Omg the shared bus contemporary and wl is the WORST i swear. And now they throw in fort wilderness here and there too! Its my least favorite bus it takes FOREVER. I swear it took almost 2 hours for us when waiting for it at Disney Springs to actually make it back i am traumatized. I actually did utilize uber to get to contemporary last time because I just cant with that route.

Hot take.
Guardians Row 9 isn’t the best.

Not so hot take. Remys is 1000% better in 2D. I can actually say it’s a good ride now.
I miss the 3d 😭😭 I know I'm blowing up your thread and i apologize I am just catching up 🤣🤣

Long read but I think it’s worth it!

So on Monday, we did not have a spectacular day at Epcot. It was the end of the night and with our special diet, it’s hard to eat during normal hours, but eating during extended evening hours is impossible. We left before 11 so we didn’t go to bed hungry. Being hungry at the end of a not so great day sucks.

I was scrambling to find something to eat before everything closed. I didn’t think we would make it to CR by 11, But I noticed that Grand Floridian had a burger that we could eat, and my son was excited by that, so I ordered it hopped on the monorail and made my way over to VGF. We stepped off the monorail at 10:56 PM. I heard a random firework go off and I was like hmmm.

We couldn’t find Gasparillas. We were a bit frantic because they were about to close at 11, my husband asked a custodial lady where it was at. She was beyond nice. She walked us all the way over there to make sure that we found it.

We got there right at 11pm and suddenly fireworks start going off at MK! It wasn’t the same show we had seen 2 days prior. Mickeys voice came on over the speakers and I felt so happy. And suddenly so relaxed. We loved the show and the music. Even on the not so great days at Disney somehow a little magic comes our way. It was the perfect ending to our night and I am so happy we stopped at VGF!

Now for the funniest best part of this story..

If you follow me on the boards you may have seen me say that VGF really just wasn’t for me when I visited back in May. Visiting when it’s not as hot as the sun outside made me view things differently. I told my husband I don’t feel so out of place here today because I’m not hot and sweaty. It doesn’t feel too fancy for us. It feels clean and deluxe. We walked past a mannequin with clothes and he said “I’d have to wear a $200 shirt to fit in here, like that guy”. I said no I think we would fit in here. He still says no. Just then we turned the corner and there’s a lady wearing basically the same outfit that I am, same exact uncommon jacket. We both look at each other and she says “we have great taste, I have those ears too”! So the universe officially squished that narrative that we don’t fit in!

My husband took the liberty of buying a small cake from the to-go case. This cupcake was beautiful, but I did not have high hopes for it because I have eaten vegan desserts and cakes many places within both coasts of Disney and they just do not do vegan desserts well. Just a couple nights prior I had a vegan cupcake at Chef Mickey’s and it was not good. So I jokingly said “if I take a bite of this cake and it tastes amazing that’s a sign that we should own here” I say that jokingly, because I would have bet stacks of money that this cake would not be good. Guys… this little cake was amazing. SO. SO. GOOD. I had to go to google to be sure it was vegan even though the label said plant based.

I had taken the cake back to CR and we ate at one of the little tables cause I didn’t want to wake up my grand daughter going back to the room so late and eating. So we sat at the table at CR and we just couldn’t stop talking about this little cake and I’m like is this how life is? Money does get you the finer things in life. Haha!! Clearly Disney knows how to make a good vegan cake but they only give it to Grand Floridian, how is that possible? Why are all of the other desserts so terrible and this one so amazing???

We rode Tower of Terror 3 times.

We rode Guardians 2 times.

We rode Avatar 2 times.

We rode Everest 2 times.

But this little stop off at VGF was the highlight of my trip!

Photo of said cake on the unfancy table at CR.

PS the burger was very good too.
I am so hoping this happens to me next time we stayed at vgf and I fall in love with it. I would love to own there, but I felt weird there last time too 😆
