April 5, 2008 7 Night Western

Hi Everyone,
We are booked on the cruise and can't wait. My b-day is April 5th. What a great b-day present! We have a big group: My folks, Me, 42, dh, ds-12, dd-4,db-50,dsil-43,dn-7,and dn-4. Hope there will be some kids around my son's age. Has anyone flown into Melbourne instead of Orlando? We are thinking about it. Thanks.

Hi AnnMarie...
My DD will be 5 on the cruise so she is close to your dd's age. Our friend's traveling with us have a DD that will 6 so they will be together in the Club! My ds will be 8 at cruise time. Cannot wait for the cruise! Only 229 more days!!:rotfl2:

Hi Yonkrs girl,
Our girls should be in the same age group. My nieces, also. They will be 4 1/2 and 7. I see we are both from Georgia, too. We can't wait! How are you getting to the cruise?

AnnMarie...

That's great! We are in Woodstock. We will be driving down to the port on Friday the 4th. We did that last November when we cruised and spent the night down there and then arrived at the Saturday Morning and parked there. It worked out great.

Hey to you both.

We are in South Fayette County.

We did this cruise in 2006 (Spring Break). DH and I are both teachers, we had/have to leave after school on Friday. We left @4:30?? We drove to Ocala arriving @10:30. We got up Saturday @7:00 and were at ship by 10:00. We plan a repeat.

Our youngest will turn 8 on 3/31.

Hi Yonkrs!

My ds will be 8 then also. He tends to spend ALOT of time in the club. Hopefully he will see your ds there!

Yonkrs Girl & Ann Marie3,
We are in Marietta (East Cobb) as well. We will be driving down on Friday afternoon. Cruise is getting closer....! :)

Hi DEADEA!

VERY COOL! We are getting so excited! Maybe we could all get together "pre-cruise" and say hello! Do you have children? If so, what ages? We have already booked our hotel for Friday Night since it will be the beginning of Spring Break! We have a countdown clock that friends (first time cruisers joining us this time) bought us and we LOVE it. It makes the days go by faster! WOO HOO!!!:cool1: :yay: :cheer2:

WE CANNOT WAIT!!

Hi jk8...

That would be great! my DS wound up spending more time in the Club than Lab last time - he was being a great big brother and trying to help his sister adjust to the club:love: So this cruise I know he will be spending much more time in the Lab. He really loves the Game Shows and activities, too - like the Vegetable Car Race, etc. so he shares his time - LOL!

It would be great for the kids to have some friends to hang out with!

Hi we'll be on this cruise too...it is me, my mom, and my son Josh who will be 10 for this cruise...He loves to hang out with new friends--boys or girls....I think it makes the experience for him much better...Let me kno...last year I went on a mariner cruise and schedule a meet and great at Fish Lips in PtCanaveral....I can do that again since I live in the area....Alrighty hope to hear from people soon. HUGS!

Wow I am hoping I did not kill this thread! Perhaps we're all so busy but I think getting to know eachother is important.....If the kids have friends to hang out with then it will leave a little adult time for us:)

I've sailed Disney Wonder 2x and this is my first time on Magic. I am looking forward to the experience. I will be in cabin 5627 a Cat.11. It was just too expensive to get something more than that. I had a Cat 8 for my 4 days though....I'm definitely going to miss the window.

Our first day on the ship....I plan to just get something to eat and let Josh go right to the pool until our stateroom is ready. I love being an early boarder. Our dinner is second seating which is a first for us. The main dining seemed to be too early. We were tireed after excursions and Josh would fall alseep during the shows....Now the shows are earlier and he'll eat after which will help keep him awake. The great thing is that he can get something to it by the pool earlier.

This time around I'd love to go to the night clubs...never done that because I had to stay with my son....Now mom's coming along and if I meet you all...we can go out in the evenings and have a drink and get to know one another. I am a single mom so adult time for me is a must:)LOL...well hope to hear from some of you soon.

Hi,

I think you hit it on the head with we're all busy now that we are back in school. I have a DD who will turn 10 tomorrow. In fact I came to the computer to find another recipe for "Old-Fashioned Caramel Icing" that she requested and ended up on the DisBoards.:confused3 How does that happen?

ANYWAY - she'll be 10 in 6 months when we sail! She is just in 4th grade since the September Bday however. We seemed to always have a kid or two around and got little adult time last time too. I am putting my foot down this time and getting at least a little this go around.

Welcome!

Hi DeaDea & Yonkrs Girl,
It would be great to try and meet up before the cruise. DeaDea-We are also in East Cobb! How old are your kids? At cruise time DS will be 12 and DD 4. We are flying down on Fri. and staying somewhere near the port.

Ann Marie

Well I am looking forward to meeting all of you:)I am a teacher and my colleagues think traveling on spring break with more kids is not a vacation but I love kids. I teach high school...so I need some pampering....There is a good resteraunt by the pier called FishLips....let me know if anyone is up for dinner Friday night 4/4/07 if you are flying down into the area....I can arrange the reservations and we can meet before boarding. I did this last year and it worked wonders:)

Mom24princesses....Josh would love to hang out with your daughter...He loves the movies on Disney, Karoke, family dance, and the shows...He goes to the lab but not as often as I want to...He might do it if he knew the other children and made friends...Oh did I forget that he loves the pool! Whats your daughter's name? I'll let JOsh know that he can expect a friend on the Magic...How do you feel about them checking themselves out...I am really hesitant about this when it comes to the lab...you can't always trust people...Talk to you all soon....

Same Here. I taught 7th grade for 10 years and this is my 12th year in 4th grade. DH taught High School for 8 years and is in year #14 teaching middle school. His greatest fear is that a student will end up on "our" cruise. In fact, I am not mentioning to him that I was told Friday that my former PTO president with 3 kids I've taught might be sailing with us SB! We teach in different systems and we've never taken our DDs to "our schools". This makes scheduling concerts, programs, etc, a nightmare, but we keep our professional and private lives separated.

Her name is Brittney. (she was born about 6 months before Britney S. hit the scene.) Being school teachers, it was always difficult to come up with names for our children. HOWEVER, if our last had been a boy, his name would have been Joshua! She lives for the Disney Channel. She is our best student, reads all the time, (Charlie Bones books this month), loves math and science, is not really into sports much, likes Karoke (every night in the shower:rolleyes1 ), dance:banana: , etc. Sounds like it might be a good match. We are early seating for dinner however. We caught some shows in the afternoon last time and I really liked taking them out of the evening schedule. She wants us to give her sign-in/out "rights" this go around BUT I can't decide. I think I will not at first. I can always allow her after we've been on board.

Just joining. We made ressies today and this will be cruise number 5 on Disney. We have not been on a Disney cruise in 3 years and looking forward to the changes.

Hi Mom24princesses:)

I told Josh about Brittney and he was happy that he was going to have a friend on board thats into what he likes:) SO we are definitely looking forward to meeting you all:) Being a teacher is rough and we definitely need the break after FCAT:)LOL.....

Are you guys in Florida---it says 7 hrs to the magic:) I'm 10 minutes:):cheer2:
