April 5, 2008 7 Night Western

Sounds good!:thumbsup2 But can we wait until summer?? (for us that is May/June (kids get out 5/25)) We are swamped right now AND while I am trying not to think about it,:sad1: we MIGHT have to postpone our trip and I should have a better feel by mid June. OK?

Oh, gosh, YES. School isn't out here until the last week in June! 7 snow days this year that they didn't plan for...ugh! We're swamped too so most definitely not until summer. Thinking good thought that you don't have to postpone!

Count me in for the April 5, 2008 sailing! Just booked today. The early dinner seating was full, so am second seating. No kids here...just a couple of 50 yr olds looking for a break from the snow!

Welcome aboard. It is probably a good thing you have 2nd seating. We sailed April 1-8, 2006 and several times CD Brent mentioned that there were over 1,100 children on board. A good few large areas have Spring Break the first week of April every year. Ours was 4/1/06, was 3/31/07, BUT alot jump a week with leap-year next year to 4/5/08. Now many places have SBs at many other times too! One reason SB is cheaper than Prez. Week.

ANYWAY---Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome! I am well aware of spring break....I work at a school. We were on the Wonder this year April 1-5. Lots of kids, yes, but really not a problem. Our SB is always the first full week of April.

We have early seating this time as we did last time. I am surprised that early is full already. The cruise must be selling better than though?

Yes, welcome dmi188!

I think it is odd that first seating is full also. I may ask Sue Ellen or someone to check into what is going on. It doesn't seem like we can be that full already and not have more people posting here.

Hi everyone! It's a beautiful sunny day here in the Pacific Northwest! It made me think about our cruise. :cool2: I can't wait!!

I gathered all of the details that have been posted so far and added it to post #1 for easy reference. If there is anything in that post that you would like deleted, added, changed etc. please pm me.

Work has been crazy busy so I haven't been online as much lately. I feel like I need to start planning though! I'm doing some spring cleaning and found the pirate costume I plan to put my son in for the trip. I bought it on our last trip to WDW. He will make an adorable blond pirate boy! LOL! Anyone else planning to dress up for pirate night? We dressed up on our last trip and it was really fun. pirate:

Mom24Princesses - You weren't offered lobster? I don't think Palo had a lobster night - I think was just part of the offering. Maybe they don't have it anymore. It's been a couple of years since we have eaten at Palo's. That would be really sad! It was sooooooooooooooo good!

Hi all!!!

We just booked this week for this cruise. Finally looked at DD's school schedule for next year and their spring break is this week instead of around Easter so we checked on pricing. We were on the April 6th Western this year.

Sailing is Me (Mona), DH aka scduckman (Tom), and DD (Catherine) 13 3/4 at cruise time.

Hi Mona! Welcome to this thread. Your picture is beautiful! Was that from your cruise last year? We can't wait. Sometimes time goes too slowly!

Sorry, we've been on vacation the past week and didn't have a chance to respond. Yes, that's a current picture from our cruise 4/7/07.
The nice thing about booking just now is that we only have 10 months to wait. For our cruise last April we booked 18 months out so we could get a SPH. That was a long time to wait. Especially because it had been almost 5 years since we had cruised with Disney. We certainly missed the Disney Magic and the Disney pixie dust.

We will be joining you guys. This is our third Disney Cruise. We did the Western once before (2004). We are really looking forward to it.

me, DH, DS (10), DS (8), and DD (4) at sailing time...

Hello and Welcome!!

Now that the 4th has past I am collecting summer stuff for the cruise. I am looking at sundresses, etc. My youngest is easy to buy for. The others are a little more tricky. I went looking for "a little balck dress" and found a "little Navy dress" that was a perfect fit. I guess Navy is my new black. I am stocking up on things that are harder to find in March/April. (ie favorite sunscreen)

We will set aside things that might work for the cruise when we pack up summer clothes. (Living in the south that means around Halloween.)

dwick We might get those two girls together now!?

My sis and her fam just got off a Western with Carnival and my DCousin and fam just got off their 2nd 4th of July Wonder in a row so I am very ready for my turn!!

I was reading about "fish extenders"in the main cruise line forum. Is anyone planning to do them for our cruise? I haven't even noticed them in the past, but seems like a fun idea..

I noticed them yesterday too! They are cute, but I'm not very crafty.:confused3

:yay: Hello!

We are booked as well on the April 5th Magic Cruise! This will be our 2nd. Our first was November 2006 - Double Dip in November! It was awesome! We have the friends we cruised with joining us again and our same cabins booked so we are VERY excited! banana:

Also cruising with us are my friends parents and another couple we have convinced to join us!

My family is me, DH, DS who will be 8 at crusing time and DD who will be 5 at cruising time!!

CANNOT WAIT!!! We had to countdown for 21 months for the first cruise but this one is MUCH LESS!! Woo hoo!!

:cheer2: :yay: :woohoo:

Bumping to see if anyone else is booked. Looking for any other couples in the 40-50 range. BTW, it is DH and myself traveling. No kids, not even Disney fanatics. Just love Disney style, service, and attention to detail.

Hi there.
We are booked for the April 5th Western sailing as well.
This will be the 1st cruise for Dh & I, so we are really excited :yay: .
We too are sailing alone like dmi188, and have 2nd seating for dinner. I have already started buying lots of new clothes for the trip !!.
We both love holidays to USA and are going to WDW staying at POR this Sept for 2 weeks.
It is so nice to read about other people on the same cruise as us and I look forward to hearing more about you all.

Hi dmi...

Our friends that are traveling with us are in the 40-50 range and are the same...no children and not Disnay Fanatics YET :rotfl2:
This will be their first Disney Cruise. They have decided to join the rest of us based on our enthusiasm and seeing all the info. on the Travel Channel and out cruise DVD :-)
