You're welcome and keep trying for a Magic Kingdom View because you never know when one might become available.

Also make sure you put a request on your reservation for an upgrade. They may not have any MK view rooms to SELL, but one might come up at the last minute and you won't even have to pay for the upgrade. Last November I got upgraded from a Garden Wing STD view to a Tower Bay Lake View.

I have not heard of putting down a request for an upgrade on a reservation, however when a Resort gives you a free upgrade it's totally random and it's determined by their computer once they enter the guests information at check-in. So I doubt requesting one on a current reservation will work. So in that situation if the free upgrade does not happen and the Magic Kingdom View is available then the guest would need to pay for it.

I think what that poster meant was that if you wanted to originally book an MK view, and they were sold out, for example, you can request an upgrade to MK view *if it is available at the time you arrive* with the understanding that you are willing to pay for it. That note can be placed on your reservation.

However, when such a note is placed on your reservation, but the view you wanted never does become available, a CM may see that, and notice that there STILL might be a better view than what you have booked is available, and upgrade you with no charge.

I'm sure the poster did not have a note on their reservation "free upgrade requested". :lmao:

The way you explained it makes more sense.

Ok, I'm back again with another question :D

Does anybody by chance know the current rates for the Sea Raycers and other boats at the CR dock? I've looked all over the forum but have come up with several different answers. The sammy duvall site only has info reguarding the parasailing, wakeboarding, etc.

Has anybody done it? Are the gators really that big of an issue?

Here you go.

As for the gators I am not sure how much an issue they are since my family and I have not done anything like renting boats and etc.

I wouldn't worry about the gators. My family and I rent Sea Raycers whenever we go down and we haven't yet run into a gator. ;)

Thanks guys^_^<3

@ CR Fan: Just wanted to say I like your sig. Big big hockey fan!<3
@ contemporarymom: Were the racyers you rented the white & blue two seaters? :)

SoScary:

I've rented the SeaRaycers before from the Contemporary. They are SO much fun. Definitely do it! Don't worry about the gators, seriously. You should never even get in the water if you rent a boat. The most you will hear about the gators is when they explain the safety stuff...they *might* mention it, as in "if you happen to fall overboard, wave your hands over your head like this (they will demonstrate the distress signal) so a rescue boat will know you need help, but don't worry, we'll get to you faster than the gators will." They will likely be joking about the gators. They do exist, but they are not man eaters. The rescue boats are on constant patrol and they are FAST! If they even notice a slight sign of boater distress, they will be at your side instantly.

Does anyone know if the Outer Rim (or any bar for that matter) is still on the concourse? DH and I are arriving Jan 31 (Tower MK View). We usually like to relax and have a drink after a long day at the parks.

It's gone right now; they're still doing construction on the area to expand Chef Mickey's and put in (IIRC) a smaller lounge.

No one knows when the Outer Rim will be done, but there is a bar/lounge at the Wave Restaurant.

Thanks guys^_^<3

Yes they were. My husband takes our daughter and I take our son. They're a blast. I'd definitely recommend renting them. Also, if heights don't bother you the parasailing is also wonderful.

Thanks:laughing: Yeah, I lived down near Ocala for a little while a couple years ago and sometimes they would be spotted out on the golf courses and such. Supposedly they like to just sit out in the sun, so as long as you don't go poking at them then you'll be fine. Never encountered one firsthand though:cutie:

I'm not particularly scared of heights, but the idea of being that high up by rope and parachute does intimidate me a little:rotfl: I'll probably stick to the boats. Do you remember if they were still at the rate of $30/30 min.? That's a pretty good deal if you ask me:thumbsup2
