I want to say that sign must have been used when something was being renovated, so the arrows at the bottom were for those guests wanting to find the Outer Rim during some construction. The only time I can think of construction happening around there is when they built the Tempo Grab & Go, however I don't remember seeing any signs like that.

Thanks anyway CR fan. I have an email into one of the bartenders from the former Outer Rim.

Any news on the NEW outer rim?

Happy New Year all!

I couldn't any news about it, however from what I saw with the construction hopefully it will open sometime in next month or around March.

Here are some extra photos from my stay last month that I forogt to post.

for the CR, how far in advance should I make my ressie? My family of four would like to stay Nov. 28-Dec.06 in a standard Garden room.

For those dates, do it now. CR fills up fast.

Great time to go.

i'm assuming its ok to book 'room only' now and worry about the details later (dining, tickets (we're thinking about APs), magical express details, etc.). let me know otherwise...

That is what i have always done. Room only, then buy tickets later and take care of ME once the flight is finalized.

You might consider using dreams unlimited travel. They sponsor these boards and if a discount comes out after you have booked, they will let you know and try to save you the money. They can also advise you on AP rates, if there are any.

(I'm not affiliated with DU - just think they do a great job.)

Yes it is because when it comes to making Magical Express reservations they need to know where your staying.

If we were to book the south garden rooms can someone give me an estimate on how long it would take me to walk back to the monorail? Chef Mickeys?

Thanks.

I would say it's about a 5 minute walk since both Chef Mickey's and the Monorail station are located on the 4th floor, the only difference is they are on the opposite sides of each other.

On page one there is information on the Garden wing deluxe room, I see that there are only three of these available. Does anyone have a floorplan of the room, or know where I can find one?

Also, any idea how hard these are to get? I am going in Sept 2009 and hoping to book FD bounce back for Sept 2010 (yes, I know it is not guaranteed).

Anyone know if I can book room only earlier and then have the reservation modified with FD?

One more question, any idea if they are connecting rooms? We are going with another family and would love to have the rooms connect.

Sorry for all the questions, but the planning stage seems to bring all sorts of questions for me...

Thanks!

went back quite a few pages but couldnt see any recent info on Chef Mickey Express. hows the work going? we're going May 14th and i thought it was meant to be open long before we went or have i missed the news and its already open?
thanks in advance.xx:goodvibes

It's now called the Contempo Cafe and has been open for a while now. We ate there every day during our Christmas stay. :) Food was generally very good (and staff very accommodating w/substitutions). The only thing that got a thumbs-down was the hot roast beef sandwich (dh thought it was AWFUL).

Actually the new counter service location on the 4th floor has opened a few months ago and it's name turned out to be the Contempo Cafe. Anyway last month I got to try it and it was a great location with a lot of items to choose from. My personal favorite is the Chicken Caesar Salad, which had to be the best one I ever had.

Hey CR Resort Fan,

I really appreciate all your answers on this thread, you've really helped my out just by reading (I havn't had to ask a question yet). We will be arriving 1/23 for 7 night stay in the tower/bay lake view

Have you looked at the reviews on the other big WDW site. There seems to be alot of complaits about housekeeping and rude staff. Any thoughts on this?

Honestly we have never encountered any rude Cast Members and we also never had problems with housekeeping. Also I would not take what those reviews said to seriously because if they did not like their stay there then they would complain about anything, plus it could be about minor things that they try to make sound a lot more worse.

That's kinda what I was thinking. Thanks for your response.

btw, I tried to upgrade to MK view last week and they were sold out.:scared1:
