PORTOFINO BAY HOTEL INFO...FAQ`s and more.......

I recently rebooked my PFB for a lower AP rate, and I see I received a $50.00 Amex Resy credit on my Amex Gold Rewards card for that transaction. Has anyone ever had that happen to them?

has anyone been to the fitness center recently? We're staying at Portofino the first week of March. I just watched a Youtube video of the gym filmed a couple of months ago and it was the saddest thing ever. My husband is a gym rat for health issues. I never thought to look at the gym because the ones at other Loews hotels are really nice.

It's pretty small. And if I remember correctly, it opened pretty late in the morning as well. Door was locked at 6am.

oh and my husband likes to go around 5:30am.

It looks so small on the recent video I watched. He likes to use cable machines, not treadmill type machines. The second half of our trip is at the Riviera in Disney which also has a super small gym. We may need to do some rearranging. :rotfl:

That’s weird, Amex shouldn’t be coding the purchase as a restaurant, but somehow that happened. It probably is because of how the merchant is coded on the back end of the Amex system. Not really much you can do, but you got $50 off the hotel (and just know if you were planning to use the Resy credit elsewhere, it’s now used up on this transaction).

They’re redoing the big spa/gym, so they threw a few machines into an empty space next to the Villa Pool. It’s really sad and small—frankly, I think it’s embarrassing for how much they are charging per night and the fact that it’s Uni’s flagship hotel. I assume a larger gym space will open at some point but haven’t seen anything past them announcing the spa was closing for good.

thank you!

Last weeks Club menu. Sorry they loaded out of order.
Club was fantastic, my first time back since the renovation and really enjoyed everything.

Hello! We are booked to stay for the first time at PBR and are looking forward to a new to us resort. We are big HRH fans, due to proximity of the parks, but the price was better here for our June trip, so we're trying it out! I see lots of posts about CL, so I gotta do some digging in this thread for non club info lol maybe one day we'll hit CL up but not with a family of 4-6 with us. :p

Stupid question that I'm sure is covered somewhere in this thread. I think my wife, 10 year old and I are going to book one night here pretty much just for the express pass. Will we be able to take advantage of the Early Entry on check in day? Current plan would be for me to walk over from our off site hotel, check in at 0700 or so, get the room keys and then head back to get the others before going to the park. Is that a workable plan?

They don't even have to update the room keys later anymore. They just code them to your room once it's assigned/ready, and shoot you a text.

Bell services will hold your bags if needed.
wow, that's awesome! our last trips, keys had to be redone later in the day, except that one time we checked in at Cabana Bay, and room was ready at 7:15 AM. But that's so great if we don't have to go back to the desk and get new keys later.
