I thought that a second driver was included under the Emerald Club. I know that some other contracts include 2nd driver like BJs I think. Good luck getting it taken care of.

I thought it was too! I even reminded her that I was an Emerald Club member but she said it didn't matter. I really did not like her flip attitude, and if Bob had not been there I probably would have pursued it right then and there.

I have sent an email to Alamo stating my complaints and they have received it. Our $149 full-size car rental went to $249 and I am not happy! I could have done better than that elsewhere, and I told them that.

So I was sitting here last night looking up Aztec Project ideas for Nick when I got so sick. It must have been the virus that Colby had because it hit me like a brick wall. I managed to fall asleep after about an hour of praying to the porcelain gods and feel fine this morning. So not fun.

I am so sorry to hear that you guys are sick, Deb!

I got sick the morning after the Party for the Senses and was miserable most of 12 hours. My family kidded me that I couldn't hold my food and drink anymore but it just did not seem like that. My sister was one of the worst teasers. She called from the airport that evening to tell me that she had been sick on ME and again at the airport. Although I was unhappy that she was sick on her return flight, I felt a little better knowing that I had not been as foolish as they had made me feel! Lindsay will vouch for the fact that the 4 of us were pretty darned sober when we left PFTS despite having eaten everything on the menu (I am NOT kidding) and drinking our fair share of the alcohol offered.

I think the renewal notice says to give it 5 weeks? The thing is, if you order past a certain date (I think it might be the 5th of the month?) then your expiration is the end of the FOLLOWING month the next year. For example, I want to order Nov. 8, 2007 so my card will expire Dec. 31, 2008. Bernadette knows which date gives you the extra month, I think. I also read on the Restaurants board that there are changes to DDE rumored to be coming in November, so I am a little concerned about that.:scared: If it is just the automatic 18% tip then that's fine, but if they are changing other parts of it I might not be very happy. We have overextended ourselves a bit on the December trip so that 20% discount will be handy.

I hadn't heard those rumors yet, Elizabeth. Thanks for the heads-up! I will say that there was no tip added to our bill except at Cape May and that was because there were 8 of us, not because of DDE. Maybe the automatic addition is not in the program anymore??

All the other servers did not add the tip and when I remembered to ask about it, they offered to go back and add it but I told them they would do better if they didn't. They thanked me! ;)

Supposedly they will now (in 2008) add an automatic 18% gratuity to all DDE purchases regardless of how many people are in the party. Which really is not a big deal because we always just add the 20% discount back as the tip. Somebody heard that lounges will no longer accept DDE, but we've never been to a lounge.

The speculation started because a CM told someone there would be changes to the program announced in November but the CM didn't elaborate.:confused3 There are a lot of changes they COULD make that wouldn't have any impact on us but would make other people mad. For me, they could take away the alcohol discount, make the card valid only for those people in my room instead of up to 10 at my table, whatever, as long as it is still valid for 20% off of TS meals. I had exactly ONE drink in August at Citrico's so I could have paid full price for it!:rotfl2: Our friends like to have 20% off with my DDE card when we dine together but if the rules change then they will just be out of luck. :rotfl: I need the card to cover TS meals for my family - as long as it continues to do that we'll continue to have one.:)

I agree, even without the alcohol discount it is a nice thing to have. We always add the 20% discount back in as the tip too. But I think I am definitely going to wait to see what changes might be coming before I shell out $65.

That's their excuse? How pathetic. :sad2:

Nobody comes out and says that, but nobody I know can come up with anything "better". I know plenty of people much older than 25, though, that I wouldn't dare trust with my car!

It has to do with their cost to insure drivers under 25. It is REALLY expensive to have a driver under 25 on your policy (especially males). I think our policy used to say "No umarried males under 25, no unmarried females under 21." But that was our personal car insurance. Rental car agencies probably use a blanket policy of everybody HAS to be 25 or they pay an upcharge.

Our insurance is 25 for any gender.... but I think that the car rental companies should acknowledge the "unmarried" part as well!

Even still... I'm sure that's the reason for the "discount" at 25 (for insurance), is the "crazy college kids"

How about a pound of popped popcorn. That should be a large package :rotfl:

That's an awesome idea!!! That would be a HUGE bag! I did find a pound jar of Coffeemate creamer. :rolleyes1 Last year some ideas were nails, beans, rice, homeade cocoa...

We don't know what the items are - they are wrapped and it's a silent auction - you bid by putting your name down on a piece of paper in front of the item you want.

I made my adr's yesterday for April. :cool1:

4/24 - Biergarten dinner
4/25 - LTT lunch
4/26 - Garden Grill lunch (11am)
4/27 - Ohana dinner

Right now we are booked for 4 nights at Pop. If SW had decent airfare we can stay a day longer, otherwise we are driving & can only do 4 nights. If we drive my kids miss 3 days of school. (fri before vacation, & the mon & tues after vacation)
Maybe you can watch for a ding. ADRs are so exciting!

To everyone that we had a chance to spend time with on this fantastic trip, We Had the Most Wonderful time.

Elin and Bob, it was fun, your family is just the nicest. I will say it again, you looked so very happy.

Tammi, You and Bob were still glowing!!! I think he will really see the magic when he brings his daughter.

Anne Marie, It was fun showing you the hidden mickey on HM. It was fun watching you enjoy your Dole Whip.

Janet, I was so happy that we were included together getting the special Tinkerbell pins at LC.

Lindsay, Having dinner together at the LTT was a lot of fun. You looked so very happy.

Chanon, Thank you again for the help in getting a room the night before we came down. It was fun that late night at the MK.

Vicki and Chuck, We had the best time with you at the dinners. I was so happy when Walter recommended that great wine at the CG. Downtown Disney at Pleasure Island was so much fun. I will remember that place where we had lunch at the Animal Kingdom--very nice and quiet.

Deb and Chris, I am so glad you were able to come down. A second honeymoon is always the best---or third, or fourth!!! Our picture holding Simba at the Animal Kingdon is so cute. Downtown Disney at Pleasure Island was a blast.

Kristine and Bill, the dinner at the LTT was so much fun. Sorry we did not get time to talk to you at the Cape May breakfast. I have to say it again, you looked simply marvelous for your dinner at Victoria and Alberts.

Jo, It was so good to see you again. I think you look more relaxed from when I saw you in December. I am so glad you like your new job. Tell Ramiro I am so happy he is doing so well in school. It was a special time watching Wishes with you after dinner at the CG.

As long as the changes don't go into effect until 2008 I will be happy. Our card already paid for itself......just with the V & A meal. But I was hoping to use in in December for the 10 of us....plus my BIL is a drinker.

I remember one of your girls got sick last year at the F&WF.

I also was surprised to hear from Lindsay around 9:30 PM. I had called earlier and left her a voicemail and when she called back from her hotel room, sounding completely sober, I was shocked! ;) :)

Elin, Two years in a row with someone getting sick after the Party for the Senses makes me very unsure if I would ever want to try it in the future.

I know that PFTS did not make me sick. No one else who went that night with us got sick and we all ate absolutely the very same things. Last year we did not do PFTS and Kristin got sick after eating at Spoodles. But in restrospect, we believe it was the ratatouille with all the tomatoes in it. She and I both suffer from IBS and tomatoes are one of her "trigger" foods. She didn't know it at the time, though. :sad2:

So, as long as I can continue to afford PFTS I will go. Bob was a much more adventurous eater this year and might try PFTS next year, if I am lucky!

Terry - you know we feel the same way about you and Stephanie! I will never forget my sister saying, "Bob is getting hugged over there.... I hope he knows those women!" :rotfl: Having you join us for breakfast was really fun, although for some odd reason most of everyone's attention was elsewhere at our table that morning. ;) You can crash my family reunion ANYtime! :goodvibes

I just found out that we can vote once every 24 hours for a costume. Since many people posted theirs a month ago I guess I'm probably behind to start off. Oh well, it's worth a try.
