SOOO packed this week!

They have canvas holiday totes which are around $30. I think they are also still selling the 70th shopping totes (3 sizes) which are less than $10 each.

I grabbed this picture of the shopping bags from Google images. @dunkindonut is this what you are referring to?

Yes, they're like no more than $5. I think the medium size one is like $3. Regardless they are such a nice bag and I use them all the time at home.

Friday was the last day for Key passes, should be lighter crowds next week

Hmm.... but EVERYONE is out of school now so that could make things quite busy from now through New Year's. We just got back from a few days there and made sure we could finish the trip before the break. Parks didn't seem too crazy while we were there (14th-17th), other than the LLs seemed to run out even quicker than usual. Maybe it was all those Costco passes with LL as somebody mentioned.

We were there yesterday to use the final 3rd day of our Costco tickets we bought for the runDisney event. There at rope drop, left around 1pm for a few hours back to the hotel and back around 4:30 until closed. Seems like normal holiday crowd. Got an incredible amount of rides plus just enjoyed the day without the teenagers. As usual, if you “know what you are doing” and make use of LL, crowds are always manageable. We have long given up trying to time visits with the mystical low crowd times.

Hotel rates are tending high through January 4th, so I think it’s premature to say that the lack of MK will take the pressure off the crowds. The parks are busy yesterday - nothing too crazy but certainly not a light crowd.

It wasn't bad today. Not nearly has bad as it was a couple of weeks ago. It didn't seem like there were many MK. Attraction lines were long, guests were confused about how to use LL, trams were not busy, etc. The parade route didn't fill up nearly as early as it has been.

The walk way for DVC tower only has 1 path and to get to the other side of the resort. Or maybe you use the gate from the bar? But even then it just feels very strange. Why they gated it off is beyond me. Compared to staying in adventure tower, it just felt like such a longer walk to get everywhere
It's a very unfortunate walk and I hope that someday they add something more direct. While they do tell people to walk around by the Adventure Tower, there are times when the gate is open by Palm Breeze bar and I'll go that way instead. When those gates are open, it's almost a straight shot to the tower and it makes much more sense.

I don’t understand why they don’t offer a bus to at least Pixar Pier during the rush hours. Guests staying at the far side of DLH would benefit. They use to run trams to Paradise Pier Hotel and Downtown until the addition of Cars Land (I think).

Next week will be much lighter crowds. The school calendars don't impact attendance nearly as much as the key calendars.

Families with kids are a shrinking portion of the guests.

Christmas & New Years weeks are historically the most crowded of the year. Disney retired the Dream Key largely because of overly heavy crowds during that period (in 2021); the replacement Inspire Key blocks those weeks out.

Christmas & New Years haven’t been as busy since, but I exercise caution here in projecting crowds. Local hotel rates are trending high.

Also, DLR still attracts large groups of local teens as well as large groups of ethic families. I would agree that the sterotypcial “Disney Adult” has changed the demographics of WDW, but not DKR. Most will never visit here, since being in the Bubble matters.

Note that heavy rains are predicted from Tuesday through Friday. They were predicted for Saturday as well but it now shows that day will be sunny. This will likely keep locals out of the park most of the week, unless they bought date specific tickets.

Reservations “sold out” for yesterday and today. Inspire Key has the smallest base, so it’s not MK filling the parks up.

I want the small one. Doesn’t seem likely they have it in April though if they are discounting them now.

CA plastic bag ban goes into effect Jan 1st, so I’m sure they’ll have some inexpensive bag design besides the one they’ve been using awhile (not the 70th).

Yes, it’s annoying and such a hassle. I stayed in adventure tower before and absolutely loved it. The location was just unbeatable

That was supposed to have happened 12 years ago, until they discovered a loop hole of making them thicker. I’ve used reusable bags for the past 15+ years. Hopefully this time there is no loophole
