The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 24

You are all invited to my pity party. I am just feeling really discouraged tonight. The job situation isn't going the way I thought it would and I am worried about how it will turn out. DH thinks I shouldn't tell my bosses about any of my interviews from now on, but that wouldn't be very nice!

My friend saw Roly-Poly and his nanny at Gymboree today, but the nanny said she isn't involved in the process of them finding a new nanny and doesn't know whether the parents liked me or not. That sounds like a lie. She didn't say anything about me coming up there next week to meet her, so either she doesn't know or they plan to cancel. To make matters worse I have not heard a peep from the family. The mom said she would e-mail me when they talked with their current nanny and had a definite date that she wants to be finished with the job. Not only has she not sent me a theoretical "start date", she hasn't acknowledged that she got my contract. And they haven't called any of my references. This is really NOT going well at all.

The stupid agency DID call my references, but they haven't asked me to go on a single interview. That supports my theory that even though I have now jumped through all but 2 hoops (TB test and "Nanny Training" where they teach the girls not to wear a tube top and Daisy Dukes to an interview) they have no intention of sending me out to meet any families. They obviously prefer to place nannies who are barely old enough to be without a nanny to supervise THEM!

And I am still mad about the counterfeit ebay pins.

It has been raining all day, Dadboss was 30 minutes late AGAIN (he just did that to me on Friday) and I am in a big snit. So there you have it!

Darn it Elizabeth!! I feel so bad for you....I'll bring cake for your vrtual pity party if you want.

I hope things turn around!!

Tammi - I am going to send her another e-mail Thursday night if I don't hear anything before then. It is her work e-mail, so I want her to get it Friday morning just in case she doesn't check it from home. I would feel stupid calling her Tuesday night to make sure she still wants me to drive up on Monday morning! The thing is, the parents indicated that the current nanny will want to meet her replacement - that doesn't sound to me like she isn't involved!

Bernadette - You are probably right. DH says this is bound to turn ugly, so I need to shield my cards and not say anything to them about any interviews or whatever. BUT if it isn't going through an agency then the family will be calling for a reference. I don't offer my references to people I don't want to work for, so any calls Momboss gets will be from people I would accept a job from.

Perhaps I will go work for the FAA or become an air traffic controller or something so I can make up stupid flight times! Too bad I suck at logistical things like deciding how many planes can take off and land and be at which gates and all that sort of thing. Wow. Makes my head hurt.

Evening all.
Hope everyone had a better day than me.

1. Forgot my lunch @ home.
I keep my work keys, I.D, & hair clip in my lunch box.
2. Superviser isn't on-site today.
He leaves me a list for today.
Empty, clean, & replace bags in the poop pots.
Power wash 2 buildings breezyways.
(each building has 3 floors & 2 towers)
He wants it completed TODAY.
1st he knows the pots make me gag.
2nd he knows I can't handle or set up the power washer by myself.
That thing weights more than I do.

So my Co-worker Sara & I do the pots together.
I helped her in the A.M do work orders.
After lunch we take power washer over to the 1st building.
I drive the golf cart will she hold onto the washer pulling it behind us.
Floater drives by us tells us "Your going to get hurt like that."
Does he stop & help us. H*** No. This is a young healthy 30 yr old man.
Superviser has him doing turns & I'm power washing.
What the H***.
So I get the hoses ect to the 3rd fl all set up.
It gets shutting off.
So I'm going up & down 3 flights of stairs fighting with this thing.
After 3 hours I only did 2 breezeways in 1 tower.
The wand fell apart, thank God,
I pity him if he jumps me tomorrow for not finishing.
I so will give him a piece of my mind.
Maybe even a good shift kick in the @**.
Now I feel better.

At least I have great plans for Saturday.
Myself & the gang are all going down to Tampa.
Busch Gardens for the day.
Packing up a picnic lunch,
Me, Ramiro, Co worker Sara, her 3 girls, her sister,niece, & nephew.
We all have a great time together.
The kids get alone together great.
We are surprising the kids.

Oh yeah. If you have access to a truck, that is the way to go!!! The mulch was nice too. We ended up having to get our last load from up on Rt.1 by the airport because Norfleet was closed, and their mulch was crappy. It had a lot of junk in it.

We love Norfleet mulch and Bob has a truck so that is not a problem. Wait till he finds out what we are doing this weekend...
