Oh, no! But the kids were OK?!

Oh, and my grandpa is still in the hospital, and mom is waiting to talk to the social worker because he will need to be released to rehab or a nursing home. However, SHE is now being admitted to the hospital today - she has had fever and chills for days and had blood work done yesterday. :sad1: They called today and said they had labs back, and she needed to come to the office and then she'd be admitted, but the nurse didn't tell her why. So, that's a little worrisome. :sad2:

Talk to you all later!

CE: First, sorry about your mom. :hug: :hug: :hug: I hope that she's just fine and gets well really soon. And, I hope Grandpa's recovery is going well. My mom is coming out this week and I can't tell you how happy I am. I really feel like I need her now!

The kids were ok. SD was sort of weird. He had to take a pill before we came home. He slept all night though. Tomorrow is his "orientation" at the h.s. for schedule, locker and photo id pics. We have to be there at 7:45 am. I hope that tonight goes well.

We had a long talk today and I tried to just keep reinforcing that he needs to figure out a way to calm himself and that it's really up to him. We discussed that if there were anything REALLY wrong (he tends to think he's having a heart attack or trouble breathing during the bad ones....) that he'd know. The Dr. would know. I would know.

Gus was fine. He's always fine. He's the happiest kid ever. He was so happy I was home though. He said he missed having tea with me. Awww.

I will say something about FF. I can't ever relate to you guys just HOW much it has meant to be able to talk this out with someone. It was so great to meet you in person. You are all just as wonderful IRL as here. And, the time away really helped me FIND some perspective and think of a new way to approach SD's issue. I really needed to do that. The way I was handling it was NOT working!

So, the upstairs is Sort of clean now. I have two loads of wash done. And I got the videos returned, picked the veggie in my garden, grabbed some groceries and now I'm making dinner.

Ah, mundane Real Life. It's sort of nice......

MEL:laughing:

Mel~ I wish I was at FF with all of you. It sounds like it was a super fun time. Hang in there. You will be able to get through all of this with SD. You can spill your guts to all of us anytime. That is what we are all here for! :cloud9:

Now, after receiving 57 PMs regarding my pets' names: ;)

dogs: Bear and Max

Cat: Isabella

Goats: Tumnus, Prince, Nestle, Sugar, Dulce, Noodles, Tragos, and Snickers (they are still nursing BTW! :rolleyes: )

They are hating the rain today...

Horses: Rocky and Biggins

.....and I'm baking brownies in honor of National G-luv Day! (that sounds kinda dirty somehow!)

OK...so...I've been gone. And I have missed you guys soooo much.

First, getting Jon healthy for school. We had a trip to the emergency room because he had an asthma attack the Monday before school began. They were going to admit him because they felt like his bronchitis had turned to a mild case of pneumonia. BUT...his stats improved while we were at the ER and he began to feel better. So, we got to stay home. He almost missed his first day.

THEN...getting him ready for school was difficult. We had to take several trips to the school to teach him the way around and to give him the lay of the land.

BUT...it has gone incredibly smooth. He is doing well. He is loving it. And I worried...mostly for nothing.

We had some difficulties with the school when Jon came. Basically...the short of it is...that someone dropped the ball with Jon. Any child who has a health condition is supposed to be on what is called a Health Plan...outlining what to do in case something happens at school. Jon has never had a health plan. Anyway...we had to have health plan meetings for him. It turned into a big deal because the school system could have gotten in trouble if Jon had had an emergency at school (he should have had a health plan all along)...so they were basically trying to cover their tracks. Long story short...we got it taken care of. The whole school (all 75 employees or so) had to sit in on training this Monday for Jon's medical conditions. Everyone had to be informed about his health issues so that if he goes into crisis at school, everyone will know what to do.

THEN...2 weekends ago it was my birf-day. I turned 21...so I can finally drink legally.

THEN...my motha came this past weekend. So, I had family all weekend long.

My new job doesn't start until next week. BUT...I may have another position. We'll see. I should know in a few days. This position is a Employment Supervisor at a mental health clinic here. This could get me in the door for more opportunities in social work...which leads me to...

I've decided to go back to school. I'm going to get a 2nd masters in Social Work. :eek: I'm crazy. I start school in a few weeks.

So, I've just been busy. Busy. Busy.

And I missed ya'll! :hug:

Can someone fill me in on the big happenings of the past few weeks???

Hi CE, V, Z and Lessa! Back home myself... Our flight arrived in Detroit at 10:30 pm. We got home around 11:45 pm. Kids were awake. House totalled! :scared1:

OMG!! :eek: Glad you made it back safely and everyone was safe.

:idea: well, i had a major epiphany yest!!!! i really want to move south. however, i realized that the most important thing right now is education for the kids. there are some awesome school districts near me. we've decided to forgo our move to florida and move to canton, ohio. it's about 45 minutes west of me. .. maybe i will move to florida when i'm older and become , the always loved by floridians, snowbird. just had to share with my focker friends. LY/MI:hug:

Good call! :hug: Really, my first word of warning to anyone considering a move from the NE to FL is "How important is your child's education to you?" Because our schools SUCK.

::yes:: What V said.

Oh and I just saw your ticker! :woohoo: :woohoo: You're almost back to the Motherland!!! :yay:

G-Luv: Wow :worship: that is so impressive and I wish you all the luck on the Master's thing.

Happy Belated 21st Bertday!!!!

CE: :hug: :hug: :hug:

:woohoo: Good for you.. I do not see how you do it all... but as you pointed out.. YOU ARE YOUNG...:sad1: I used to be young and able to move mountains, fight traffic keep the house clean .. Oh Well... :sad2:

I just turned the big 2-9. :eek: Next year...I'm going to be 20-10. And I've decided to just continue on into my 20s. 20-11, 20-12, 20-13...and so on. ;)

And yes...I'm young in age. But, I'm old in heart. I've been a grandma since I turned 3. :rotfl:

I thought you were going back to your old job... no? :confused3 Stick around this time kiddo! :hug:

Not the same position...but still speech. I was offered a contract position at an early childhood clinic. Still speech...but I used to be with the school district. I would have to "build" my caseload though. I've decided to do both. Contract and possibly this other position. Neither is full-time...although the contract position CAN be full-time, if I build my caseload enough. BUT...the benefits at the clinic aren't great. So, I can use one job for benefits and the other for cashola...for purchasing DVC and such. ;)

I will say something about FF. I can't ever relate to you guys just HOW much it has meant to be able to talk this out with someone. It was so great to meet you in person. Honey...:hug:...I so wish that I could have met you all!

I really admire all of you ladies. I think everyone here is AMAZING...funny...strong...wonderful. I'm so jealous that you all got to meet. Ahhhh well. There's always next time...right???

.....and I'm baking brownies in honor of National G-luv Day! (that sounds kinda dirty somehow!)

Luvz it. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Hope she feels better. :hug:

Ugh - hope she feels better soon!

:hug: Let us know honey!

:hug: Let us know what happens!:hug:

Oh no, I hope your mom is okay. :hug:

CE- Keep us posted on your mom. I'd be worried too!

Thanks, everyone. I don't know. She got to the dr. and was told she has a blood infection (labeled sepsis on the forms, but is that a generic term?) They are admitting her for IV antibiotics and an EKG to see if they can tell where it's coming from. Also a liver ultrasound as her liver levels are high and they are trying to rule out hepatitis. She had immunizations for that when she was teaching, but wasn't sure if those are lifetime.

She's pretty healthy and started this off with chills and fever, not with something else, but I know sepsis can be really, really not good. TE, was this what your dad went through?

Ugh. :guilty:

There's always next time...right???

::yes:: :hug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mel, I'm right there with you. :hug:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have to get the boys showered and in bed for the first day of school. I had to leave tennis 15 minutes early because I turned my ankle and couldn't walk on it for a few minutes. I can now, but certain movements are sending twinges. Ice and elevation in about a half hour, I hope (I have ice on it now, but keep having to do stuff...)

Hiya Fockers!! We got home Sunday night and had to hit the ground running...Michael started school yesterday and it's my busiest week of the month at work and we've got doctor appts, etc. this week. Plus, I've got probably THE worst cold (or something) I've had in EONS...sick as a dog...:sad2:

Not happy to be home:headache: and in fact, I'm still pouting about it.

Michael and I are both suffering post-Disney-depression and counting down the days to November.

Had a great time, although I don't want to ruin anyone's TR so I won't say anything.

Yet.

Had a blast. It was great seeing everyone and meeting so many of you in person!:grouphug:

Well, it's my bath night - better run.

Have a great night everyone!!
