Did that last night and nope...still not working. :( Oh well, new mouse it is.
Bummer!
Oh baby, do I LOOOOOOVE my home resort! (SSR) SO much so, I got home and promptly switched from POFQ to SSR for Oct.! :thumbsup2

It's very relaxing and not overly themed, so that turns some off. For me, it's part of the love. It IS big and spread-out, but totally manageable - bus stops are easy to access form any room and you can take any park bus to get to the stops after yours, or the DTD bus to get to the stops before yours.
I am thinking of booking it for the end of our Dec. trip. I was really concerned about the size and ease of moving around it, though.

How about food situation?
I e-mailed her the other day and told her today was her day and she planned on dropping by. :confused3 I reminded her this am too. I'm sure she'll be here soon. :goodvibes
Oh, I do hopes she comes back soon. We all miss her!

I'm off to a lunch play date at an old fashioned drive in, that has big play area for the kids. Be back latter! I have laundry to do before we take off tomorrow.

hi girls. thanks for the input on the iep. i have a meeting for last week in sept. first day back to school. it went pretty smoothly!!! going to check out some tr's and see if there are any updates--- i'm not mentioning any names, though:rolleyes1

I missed this...since I've been gone. Can you fill me in???

Well, cool! :banana:

Hi, everyone! :wave:

We got back at about midnight last night - slight delay and then having to retrieve the car, etc.

We had SO much fun. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Flat Katt and Flat Rachel were with me every inch of the way, hanging out in my Bagallini, but I don't have much pictoral proof because it was too wet to get them out. :scared: They appear at Fest time, though! ;)

D had a trip at 8:30 this morning, meaning he had to get up by 5:00. :headache: The kids start school tomorrow, I am supposed to be going to playgroup in an hour, but the kids aren't up, I have to pick up the dog and grocery shop and do laundry.

Welcome back to reality... V's right, it sucks. :rotfl:

Welcome back babe!!!

Dawn-
You may need to fill in a Focker who is around. Jen Jen has been MIA for weeks. If she shows up, she can always be plugged in later. Just thinking:confused3

Hey... I miss Jen Jen!

Awwww...:hug:

Awwww...:hug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What's that Elton John song??? The "Witch" is Back??
Well, I'm back baybee. I'll spill the beans on the goings on after I celebrate my day by answering a million questions.
:hug: I've missed ya'll.
What's your given name? Jennifer Michelle
Why were you given your particular name? My mother picked it before I was born. I'm not named after anyone. My father wanted to name me Marisol. Thank goodness he didn't get his way. (no offense to anyone named Marisol)
How many brothers and sisters do you have? 2 biological brothers, from my mother and father. Adam and Alex...who are both younger. An older step-brother and step-sister, who are twins, from my step-father. Their names are Michael and Michelle.
What is your favorite thing to do? I looooooove to do things with my son. Disney is big on the list. Also love to go to the movies. But, for myself, I love to read...and watch reality TV. ;)
What is your favorite food? Mexican food...chips and salsa. I could live on chips and salsa.
What is your favorite book? I don't have one. I read everything I can get my hands on. I just finished "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch and loved it.
What is your favorite candy bar? Wait for it...wait for it...
I don't like chocolate! :eek:
What is your favorite sport? I played soccer all through childhood. But, I love watching football. I'm a HUGE St. Louis Rams fan...since they were the LA Rams.
What is your favorite kind of music? Everything but country. I love classical, rock, oldies, R & B, hip hop, and I LOOOOOve 80s. My favorite band is Linkin Park.
What is your favorite song? Hmmmmm...difficult to say. I looooove U2 as well. I like "Beautiful Day."
What do you want to be when you grow up? Right now I'm a Speech Therapist. But, I have recently decided to go back to school for my second Masters in Social Work. I would love to work in a non-profit AIDS clinic as a case manager/counselor.
I'm not a huge chocolate fan, but I do like it more now than I used to.
I'm so glad you're here. :goodvibes I can't wait to hear about your last few weeks. How's Jon's new school been?
Are you already at your new job? How's that going?
How many kids did you want when you got married? Ohhhh...here's the scoop. I'll tell ya'll something personal about myself.
I was not married when I had Jon. I got pregnant when I was 16 years old and had Jon right before I turned 17. And I didn't fall flat on my face. I put myself through school and provided for my child...by myself.
Jon's father abandoned him when he was one...because I wouldn't marry him. He's now an alcoholic who can't provide for himself. And he no longer has any rights to Jon. I have been a single mom since Jon was born, because even before his father and I broke it off, he was in the Navy. So, he wasn't around.
When I was little...I knew I would be a mother. When Jon came along...I knew he would be the only one. Jon takes a lot of time and requires a lot of care. And he deserves to have all of my time and attention.
Maybe...when Jon is grown...I will adopt a special needs child. Maybe. We'll see.
How many kids do you have? One human baby...Jon. Three furbabies (dogs)...Kadee, Rory, and Kinzee.
What place would you like to visit? Greece.
What is your favorite thing about yourself? My empathy and compassion for others.
Do you like to sing? Yup. And it don't bother me that I really can't sing either. I looooove to sing in the car. So, if you ever pass by, and I'm jamming out...don't point and laugh. I'm having a good time.
Do you like to dance? I looooove to dance. I was a dancer for a long time when I was younger. Ballet, tap, jazz. I have decent rhythm. Jon gets embassed when I shake my booty though. :rotfl:
Do you like to play a musical instrument? I don't play often anymore, but I play piano and flute.
What musical instruments can you play? See above.
Have you ever seen a broadway musical? Yes, several. My two favorates were Cats and Lion King.
What are three adjectives which describe you? Caring, compassionate, straight-forward
How would your friend describe you to someone who has never seen you? I resemble Penelope Cruz...in my mind...and in my dreams. :rolleyes1
What do you want to be doing in five years? I would like to have a 2nd masters, and maybe be on my way to a doctorate. And I want to be able to make a difference in others' lives. More than anything...I want to be just happy.
What are your favorite subjects in school? I'm an English freak. Grammar, literature, language...loooooooves it!!!
When you have an hour of free time, what do you like to do? Spend time with my son, catch some TV, DIS. OR...have a pina colada. ;)
I'm not a huge chocolate fan, but I do like it more now than I used to.
I'm so glad you're here. :goodvibes I can't wait to hear about your last few weeks. How's Jon's new school been?
Are you already at your new job? How's that going?
OK...so...I've been gone. And I have missed you guys soooo much.
First, getting Jon healthy for school. We had a trip to the emergency room because he had an asthma attack the Monday before school began. They were going to admit him because they felt like his bronchitis had turned to a mild case of pneumonia. BUT...his stats improved while we were at the ER and he began to feel better. So, we got to stay home. He almost missed his first day.
THEN...getting him ready for school was difficult. We had to take several trips to the school to teach him the way around and to give him the lay of the land.
BUT...it has gone incredibly smooth. He is doing well. He is loving it. And I worried...mostly for nothing.
We had some difficulties with the school when Jon came. Basically...the short of it is...that someone dropped the ball with Jon. Any child who has a health condition is supposed to be on what is called a Health Plan...outlining what to do in case something happens at school. Jon has never had a health plan. Anyway...we had to have health plan meetings for him. It turned into a big deal because the school system could have gotten in trouble if Jon had had an emergency at school (he should have had a health plan all along)...so they were basically trying to cover their tracks. Long story short...we got it taken care of. The whole school (all 75 employees or so) had to sit in on training this Monday for Jon's medical conditions. Everyone had to be informed about his health issues so that if he goes into crisis at school, everyone will know what to do.
THEN...2 weekends ago it was my birf-day. I turned 21...so I can finally drink legally.
THEN...my motha came this past weekend. So, I had family all weekend long.
My new job doesn't start until next week. BUT...I may have another position. We'll see. I should know in a few days. This position is a Employment Supervisor at a mental health clinic here. This could get me in the door for more opportunities in social work...which leads me to...
I've decided to go back to school. I'm going to get a 2nd masters in Social Work. :eek: I'm crazy. I start school in a few weeks.
So, I've just been busy. Busy. Busy.
And I missed ya'll! :hug:
Can someone fill me in on the big happenings of the past few weeks???
How about food situation?
Yummy! :thumbsup2
I've yet to eat at Turf Club, but AP mdae me happy, and ther'es easy access to DTD, too.
What is your favorite thing to do? I looooooove to do things with my son. Disney is big on the list. Also love to go to the movies. But, for myself, I love to read...and watch reality TV. ;)
Hi twin! I missed a bunch of others somehow, but you know I know you know. ;)
HAPPY JEN DAY!!!! :hug:
Jen2- That's an amazing story. Good for you! You're one strong woman. :hug:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And, just in case anyone was wondering... I didn't write the questions. I just googled 'getting to know you questions' and used someone else's list. I deleted a few that were strange. :confused: So, I didn't mean to have two instrument questions and questions assuming everyone wants kids or gets married. I can alter them if everyone wants me to, I've just been to busy to do it.

B just reminded me she has an ortho appt, so we'll be headed to that and to our field trip in a few minutes. Then we're meeting my SIL & BIL at my MIL's for dinner. Be good and I'll check in later. :cutie:

BUT...it has gone incredibly smooth. He is doing well. He is loving it. And I worried...mostly for nothing.
That's the best kind of worry! :hug: I'm so glad to hear it's going well! :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Happy birthday!

No way?!?! :faint: Good for you Jen! :cheer2:

:wave: Bye Dawn. Thanks for bringing me back "home".

Have fun at the ortho!

Jon went this morning and got his retainer out. We're going back in Oct. for braces!!! :scared:

I'm glad they had that meeting, Jen. Now everyone in the school will be on the lookout for Jon and will be able to help him in an emergency.

You sound super busy! Slow down this week while you can! :cutie:

I wish I could fill you in on stuff, but I have the worst memory. :sad2: Maybe Katt can fill you in? :confused3

:wave: Bye Dawn. Thanks for bringing me back "home".

Have fun at the ortho!

I forgot two things... Motha? How's that going?
Also- we all wished you a happy Bday here. I'm glad you had a good 21st Bday! ;)

Okay, I'm really logging off now. Someone's crying and I need to clean up lunch stuff.

Bye!

The motha. :sad2: We're still at odds. Even more so this week. She is upset at my decision to go back to school...because I'm not doing it HER way. :sad2: And we're fighting. About money. Because she thinks that I should now pay more for the Disney trip we took in June. Long story short...but apparently...she wants me to pay more because she is now having some financial issues. WHAT????? :headache:

I had a great birthday. I don't remember parts of it though...:rolleyes1

:wave: Bye babe!

Hi all you guys!!! Missed the TFW...skimmed back a bit. If I missed something earth-shattering, please fill me in!

We'll just call it "humidity!" ;)

Yeah. Had that "glowing" look about me the WHOLE visit! ;)

And ::yes:: I'm allergic to home too because I woke up w/ a puffy itchy eye. I miss my happy place and who knows when I'll get back. Disney vacays are on a back burner for now :sad1: I wonder if I can save enough money for Food & Wine......:scratchin: :idea: I really want to take my mom before I send her off to Bangladesh....:rolleyes1

My MIL will be joining your mom in Bangladesh....

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao:

Dure, you owe me a new monitor!

Ha! Me too!

---------------

Hi CE, V, Z and Lessa! Back home myself... Our flight arrived in Detroit at 10:30 pm. We got home around 11:45 pm. Kids were awake. House totalled! :scared1:

Fockerfest was AWESOME! I loved everyone I met. (And I stalked CE at MCO and found her and her boys!!)

Today I have to get the house straight, do laundry and get the boys dressers cleaned out so we know what they need for school. Bob is back at work today.

I'm so tired from our weekend away, but it was so much fun. And all the Focker kids were SUPER CUTE! I'm NOT doing a TR, but I won't post any spoilers about the visits. I will post some pics when I get chance!

MEL:banana:

Wow! You guys have been chatty today!

Welcome Home Fockers!!!!

Sounds like everyone had a great time. I can't wait to hear about the adventures of the Flat Fockers. Mel, did Flat Jodi behave herself??

We had preschool orientation today and DD4 wanted to stay. She told me that she can't wait a whole week until school starts because she'll miss her teachers too much. I guess that's a good thing! :thumbsup2 She loves her some school! And Mommy loves her some free time with no kiddos! :woohoo:

Jen2- glad to see you made it back to us! We've been missing you! Sounds like school is going pretty well for Jon. I'm glad to hear he's adjusting to the new surroundings. If you need some help, I'm sure we could take up a collection for one way fare to Bangladesh....

Well, DH starts his college class tonight. He was sorta nervous this morning, wondering what kind of people will be in the class. I think he's afraid of being the only "adult" in the class. He's 38 and he's thinking that the majority of the people in the class could be directly out of high school, so that would make him 20 years older than them. Since it's a community college though, I'm sure they'll be some mid-life career changers in the class along with him, don't you think?

Anyway, I've got some PTO work to get done before tonight's meeting. Can't wait to hear all the Focker Fest stories, but I won't bribe everyone like Katt! :sad2:

Happy Jen Day!!!!!

Glad to hear that Jon got settled. That sounds like a lot of meetings, but I am glad they had the whole staff involved :thumbsup2
