MeanQueen, what kind of camera do you have? Those pictures are awesome. :thumbsup2

I have a Canon Powershot, 7.1 megapixel. :cool1: It has a stitch feature on it that allows me to do the panorama shots. You take one picture then try to match the second so you can make one big picture. I used the lamp post in the middle as my guide. I'm thinking of turning that big picture into our Christmas card but I want to add a picture of us on it too.

Hi all! We went out to the coast today - southern Maine. It was a really nice day there! We had lunch out at a great seafood restaurant, browsed through the Kittery Trading Post (I got some warm fuzzy fleece socks!!), and spend well over an hour walking the beach at low tide. The kids found all sorts of shells and dried sponges! There was a ton of sea weed washed up; must have been in last week's snowstorm.

Anyway, here is a pic of the Cape Neddick light house (or locally known as The Nubble)...they deck it out for the holidays! It's at York Harbor, Maine.

Sure is pretty out east. :thumbsup2 Is Maine considered East or Northeast? Whatever the case, sure is pretty. :)

Actually, if you head to the coast out there you are going to "Downeast Maine." I found this explanation on Wikipedia:

The Down East, The Magazine of Maine FAQ explains the origin of the term: "When ships sailed from Boston to ports in Maine (which were to the east of Boston), the wind was at their backs, so they were sailing downwind, hence the term 'Down East.' And it follows that when they returned to Boston they were sailing upwind; many Mainers still speak of going 'up to Boston,' despite the fact that the city lies approximately 50 miles to the south of Maine’s southern border."

Technically, though, Maine is very much Northeast!

I've been busy with online shopping and helping my DD with a major project for her gifted class. I have been helping her with it for awhile, but found out yesterday another part is due tomorrow! The part I was helping with isn't due until next week. I thought it all was due next week. So I had to rush around and get all her research so she could do note cards and a bibliography on tree frogs and toucans. I think we'll be doing this most of the night. She has ADD and does not focus well. I will be amazed if I don't totally lose it before the night is over. :sad2:

But I do plan on watching DWTS. I'm trying to use that as an incentive to get her to finish quicker.

No kidding - where has everyone been?!! I've been around but it's hard to post and have a chat with yourself!:rotfl:

Welcome! Jump right in. It's usually much busier around here than it's been this afternoon!

I've been poking around the Internet a bit today to scope out some deals. LeapFrog is having a great sale on the Leapster cartridges that I want, but out of 4 that I tried, 3 are out of stock.... That doesn't help me when the sale ends tomorrow!! Arrrgh. I'll try to do some more after the kids go to bed. I keep the computer out in the main living area so I can't do my browsing now!

No news on the house yet. I'm trying not to think about it but the longer it takes, if it goes in our direction, the less time I have to get it all together. Ugh.

It looks like your little pictures in your siggy are playing peek a boo.

Sorry, its been rainy all day today and definately a Monday *faint*

Welcome Mischa and HAPPY TRAILS on your tag search. DON'T GIVE UP!

Mean Queen - what did you think of DWTS? Who do you want to see win? ... Not who you think will win but who you WANT to win.

I had wanted Mel and Maks to win before tonight, but now I want Helio and Julianne to win. I just thought Mel/Maks could have done so much more with the freestyle with their talent, but they lacked creativity. Then we saw creativity go wrong with Marie's performance, I can't call it a dance because there really wasn't much dancing involved. It was just freaky and I hope I don't have nightmares of big scary baby dolls. :scared1: Julianne is such an amazing choreographer. While Helio may not have been perfect technically, he did a great job. Of course, if I get to pick who I want to win it would have been Sabrina. I bet her freestyle would have been amazing.
    Go bananas!

Hello out there! (((hello out there))) This place is so empty there's an echo in here.

Have no fear, the bananas are HERE!!

Hey! :wave2:

How's the day shift going? Is it hard to re-adjust? Probably not as much for this as for going back to nights! I did an overnight shift for a year or so. Kinda funky.

I'm watching a show on The History Channel about the Sierra Nevada range and all the problems people have had trying to cross in the blizzards over the years. Most famous of them, of course, was the Donner party. Yikes!

My sis sent me an email today. I'm still ticked with her and deleted it without even reading it. I still don't have the guts to call my mom. Haven't talked to anyone in my family since Turkey day.
