Wow - I got in to Chicago too! So excited! Was not expecting this.

I got an email saying I was selected but there as an error processing my payment. I updated my card information, but it's just saying pending selection. I can't handle this!!

Also, pro tip if anyone wants me to fall for a phishing - send me an email saying I was selected for one of the majors lottery. I clicked that link so fast.

Not insane at all if you properly train. In the VERY unlikely event I get into the NYC lottery that will probably be me too.

I'm doing NYC and hopefully Dopey. I just wouldn't make all 3 goal races. If it were me, I'd train for Chicago to be the goal race since it's the fastest of the three, with NYC as a backup goal race if weather at Chicago is bad. Then just victory lap NYC and Dopey at an easier pace.

I was planning on getting into NYC through a travel agency. Now I have some thinking to do....

Definitely would not be doing them all as goal races. Dopey is always for fun, then I'd pick one goal race depending on weather.

I'm planning on Chicago + Dopey. But for sure Chicago is my A race and Dopey is for fun. Plus, I've done Dopey three times before so I know what I'm getting into.

Congrats all on Chicago! Looks like another year of no marathon lottery wins for me. I reached out to my company's donation match program about whether they would match a donation to my own charity bib. That will probably be my only possible route of running a major as I am on year 4 of no wins and I enter every single one! I don't think I can raise enough for any of them other than Chicago, the minimums are just getting so high. And I don't want to run a major enough to sacrifice a runDisney weekend

I'm in with a charity (see my signature), and the minimum was $2200 when they had sign-ups back in October.

I’m up for a meetup - DW and I will be there Thursday to Tuesday.

And same for me - no matter what I end up running next fall/ Jan - Chicago will be my A race. Current plan is Chicago + Dopey

This year I did NYC and heading to Goofy in January. I’ve found maintaining my fitness with a slightly reduced training load has been easier than being at peak marathon training in December - especially since winter roared in early this year. If this works out well for me I will have a similar plan next year.

Aren’t they doing the drawings throughout the day? Maybe still have a shot.

If you do a charity put me down for a contribution- have to get you there!

Not insane at all. I ran five in five months several years ago. As long as you're not racing each one of them for a PR, you'll be fine.

I’m up for a meetup - DW and I will be there Thursday to Tuesday.

We come in Friday evening and leave Tuesday. I'll set up a thread or group DM when we get closer.

It is also my first major and my first marathon outside Disney. My only other stand-alone marathon was WDW 2020 in super hot conditions, so I'm really excited to see what I can do!

I feel like I came to the wrong place to be told *not* to sign up for a race I need to look at my vacation plans for next year and make a decision.
I was really looking forward to going to NYC though, since the last time I went I was pregnant with my oldest (he's 8 and my running buddy now)
