I hate my family. Ok here's a major vent that is way off topic so if you don't want to read, skip over me.

My sister, who's older, decided to play a practical joke. She had taped the name tags that her DS12 1/2 put on the plates, to the plates. She then taped the plates to the placemats. It backfired leaving my and her almost 13 year old son to clean it up. A drink went all over the place including the carpeted floor and all over the table. This was just the time that things were starting to be put on the table. Her son and I had to clean it up. Our Mom called her in to take over my position of getting stuff on the table, Mom was carving the turkey, while the two of us cleaned up. My sis then said that I shouldn't be cleaning up and that her DS should be cleaning up the mess of the backfired practical joke. I shot her several mean hairy eyeballs.

We made it through dinner, very good. My nephew and I were still made at my sis, his mom. After dinner I went downstairs to gather my DD11 to leave. We came upstairs and I announced that we were leaving. My sister asked why and I told that we were leaving because we could. She followed my out to the car and tried to prevent me from leaving by standing so I couldn't close the car door. I told her to leave us go, she wouldn't. NOw for the not proud moment....I shoved her out of the way, almost knocking her down, and drove off. I know I wasn't right and that I shouldn't have stooped to that level, but, I was just really ticked at her.

Sorry for being off topic.

PA-

In time, this memory will be a distant one. Family is forever no matter how crazy it can be.

I agree, that practical joke wasn't apropriate. Sorry your sister pushed you to your limit. At least you have a sister to push, I'm an only child.

I totally despise shopping after T-day. Mad groups of shopping women scare me, too. :scared1:

I got the blankets I wanted online instead of physically going to the store and freezing my hiney off. :surfweb:

Besides, if this potential offer on our house goes through, it's gonna be a CRAZY Christmas season for us this year anyway!!!!!! Never thought I'd say it but I really hope it doesn't happen. And I have to wait until Monday to find out....:scared:

Well, yes and no (and no, you didn't miss anything...that post there was my first mention of it!). A contract has been written up, but it is there in the event that the buyer's first offer on another place is rejected. That one is pretty complicated by itself, but since the buyers live out-of-state, they also prepared an offer for us "just in case." We won't know until at least Monday, is my guess. BUT, if we do get the offer and it's an acceptable amount, we have to FLY! They want an end-of-December close, which I absolutely cannot do (6 weeks would be the end of the 1st week of January, and I believe 6 weeks is a pretty standard time frame for contract-to-close - I've got three kids and we're coming into Christmas season!!). ANYWAY!...I'm really torn on this one because yes, we want to sell the house and be able to move on, but WE LIVE IN NH AND NOBODY UP HERE WANTS TO MOVE IN JANUARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly didn't think people would still be looking this close to the holidays, so I figured even if an offer came later in January, at least then we're approaching spring by the time we close and have to move.

We put up our tree today! Not decorated, but it's up. For the first time in our married lives we're using an artificial tree. It's actually the one my DH grew up with !! We got it a few years ago when his mom upgraded to one of those "looks-real" fake ones. This one is cool, though, because you can hang a boatload of stuff on it! Cool.

I feel your pain on this. We should be moving into the new house the 2nd week of Dec. But we don't have the same kind of winter weather here that you do. And our move is only about 25 minutes away. Just go with your gut. Ya'll will make the right decision.:thumbsup2
