Official APH Rate Info for Universal Loews Hotel Properties

Back in September I booked our stay for next week… a split stay for 2 rooms for 12 nights at Helios and Portofino and I’ve been checking the rates almost daily.

I’ve saved $6,617 so far just from calling and modifying for the lower rate.

I’ve also modified the same hotels and number of nights for our 2027 stay and saved another $2,200.
What did you book that costs that much?

4 nights at Helios and 8 nights at Portofino.

I think when we booked them the rates were ridiculously high and we were hoping they’d go down. And they were AP rates the entire time. Thankfully they went down.

Wow that's a long stay. Do you do other theme parks? I love Portorfino. Rates have dropped there and I could switch from HRH to PBH, but our stay is next week and dont feel like messing with it. I paid the deposit with a visa gift card...not sure I want to risk anything and the card expires at the end of the month. If I paid with a credit card I would change.

We don't do any other parks. (We usually alternate trips between Disney World and Universal and don't like to leave the property.) We are doing Citywalk the first day, exploring Helios and dining, etc. We are doing Epic two days and take the weekends off just to relax and then doing the other two parks five days on weekdays only.

We like to take our time and relax and not rush around. If the weather is nice we do a pool day or two (weekends).

I don't know for sure but if you call to modify the reservation your payment type shouldn't affect anything. You can ask them before you make any changes. (I called yesterday and we check in on Tuesday... and will check the prices again today.)

Have a great trip!

I think you have to cancel and rebook if your changing hotels...unless that's changed.

Anyone staying in March, be sure to recheck your AP rates. Our rate for RP just dropped about $50 per night this morning when I did my daily check (week of March 22). Down to $487 per night (3 adults, 1 child).
Did you have to cancel and rebook?

I went to my account, edit reservation, added a second child, and it changed the price but kept it as one child. I've done it about 10 times since December when we booked. About a minute after I do, I get an email with the updated price.

What a great trick!

Good advice. I've moved the date and moved it back really quick, but that's better.

That'll be because the room rate went up instead of down. Or if you try to add another person 18+, and it's adding the additional adult fee.

If that happens and you really do need to add an extra child, just leave the booking alone and add the extra child at check in. They can do it at check in without rebooking, so you keep your better room rate.

Thanks! I’ll do that next time!
