Just went to make dinner, to discover my hamburger was bad! It looked ok in the pack, but when I opened it, it was funky.
It went straight from BJs to my freezer a couple of months ago, and from there to the fridge yesterday morning, so I think it might have been bad before I bought it. Sad, as it was part of a 3 pack (3 packs of vacuum packed ground beef); so now I am just going to toss the other 2 packs; not going to risk it. $15 bye bye. Plus the $$ I am now going to spend to have dinner delivered. (not sad about the delivery and not cooking part, haha, just the $$).

But my secret santa match from Reddit (puzzle) came through! I got two pretty Disney Ravensburger puzzles! They got them at Barnes & Noble, so if you're looking for these kinds of puzzles, try there!

I had my hair trimmed today, and colored.
It was so nice to be able to do this again, and I don't know who was more talkative, me or my stylist (been with years and years) catching up!
Dinner tonight is leftovers & whatnot. Took out some frozen pre-marinaded (by me) chicken out to grill tomorrow.
We are really looking forward to this weekend. It's going to be WARM! I'm going to the nurseries to get all my flowers and stuff for my porch, plus new cushions for my new outdoor sectional that came in today! And on Sunday our niece is coming over for dinner! Haven't seen her in well over 2 months, She is coming over to see the new chicks and have s'mores and show us her new Harry Potter vans...she is 3 1/2 years old and thinks the sun rises on my husband...we like to think of ourselves as "late in life aunt & uncle" as our kids are adults, but not yet married and I consider myself WAY TO YOUNG for grandchildren  .

I have over three hours of mowing to do tomorrow after work, but I also plan on treating myself to another audio book (currently on tail end of a Lucy Woorsley bit a out Queen Victoria, like her shows & books).

AND I GOT SOME NEW SHOES!

It's not all good, but darn if it doesn't look good over the next few days.

Grocery shopped today. Store had everything I needed except a specific floor cleaner I don't think they ever carried. I even got TP and rice although I don't need badly. I bought lots of fresh fruit so maybe that will help with the munching. Dinner was spaghetti and salad.

I finished the last of the books I had gotten from the library in March. Starting on some random books in the house. First up - A Wrinkle in Time. It's DD's from elementary school. I read it back in the dark ages but thought I'd read it again.

@apirateslifeforme , you just can't make some people happy.

@easyas123 my day tomorrow includes the riding part of mowing the yard. DH does the push mowing and our slope and I can do the rest. Won't take me 3 hours though. And yay! for new hair.

@Bianca and Bernard , too bad about the ground beef.

Today was grocery pick up day. It went very well, always nice to have that done.
Dinner was Chicken Tikka Masala from Costco. Add some veg, heat it up and it's ready to serve. We usually keep a few packages in the frig for busy days.

My continuing project of cleaning out cabinets and closets is going well. One of these days I'll be done. Ha!

I’m a few days behind, thanks for sharing the story about the little boy and the Twinkie’s. I enjoyed it.
Singing in the car ? Flashback quite a few years ago, before cell phones.
I had a 4 hour drive home from college. I would put my Disney
CD in and singalong to The Little mermaid or Aladdin along with
hand motions to stay awake.
Zoom mtg ? James Lipton, the guy who started Inside The Actors studio.
I’m sure he would have had several good stories to tell. Sadly he

Dinner? Dug out an old pampered chef bake pan and roasted green beans, butternut squash and beets to go with chicken in the crockpot. So yummy

Gratitudes : you strangers who bring a smile to my face during this strange time in our lives

I've had that happen before...its terrible. Especially right now when meat is such a hot commodity. This weekend while I was at my mom's I looked in the fridge and realized some hamburger I had bought for them the week before was still in the fridge and didn't get separated and put into the freezer like they said they would. It was all discolored and started to smell funny. I was soo upset with my dad for not doing it but more with myself for not making sure it got done. Ugh...then I get home and I'm putting something away in my fridge and I realize I hadn't put away the hamburger I had bought myself a couple days before....thankfully it was still OK so I cooked it right up to put half in the freezer and to keep the other half in the fridge for quick meals. I couldn't believe I almost ruined more hamburger. :sad2:

Our dishwasher got installed and it is so nice. My hubby was being a funny guy and used a more silverware and dishes than you usually would for dinner tonight. I don't mind though since I can just toss them in the dishwasher. :lovestruc

Today was a beautiful sunny day, nicest one yet, as it snowed last week 😬
my husband is weak, very weak, but he is hungry, so he eats a lot. I’m gkad we have a Wal-mart order coming Monday. I let a lot go, my son and I just made do.

I wanted to post this gratitude. I really have no family other than my sister, we text here and there, but not more than that, and that is ok. I have a Godfather left in this world, and he is the best ❤️. He would call me daily, ask what he could do, what we needed. I said nothing, we were all good, I was just anxious to get back to warmth and sunshine, so we could finally open the pool, as that is my place. Today I went in the back, nearly fainted, my pool was cleaned, opened, my deck furniture taken out, cleaned, all placed, flowers all along. It never looked so good 🤣. He hired someone to do it for us, 🙏. I had no clue all day Who it was, so at supper he called and asked if I had time to go out and see it, and I knew. I cried and cried.. My husband is glad, I am not sure how easy it would have been. I just can’t believe I didn’t hear anything, or see anything. It’s the nicest thing, and most thoughtful anyone has done ever.

Wow! What a wonderful gift!

Just bumping to ask..was there a question from Tina last nite, or did I somehow miss it?

I've been thinking about the lunch zoom date, had a hard time because I am often so self conscious when meeting new people. But I think Garth Brooks would be an easy choice, he seems very easy to talk with.

Beautiful day today, finally!! I want to go plant shopping, just a little worrisome. But I go back to work next week so I guess it doesn't really make any difference as far as exposure.

Have a great day, everyone

Good Morning , Everyone :)

I don't Zoom so that's why I haven't answered that question. Tina, hope you are getting some rest.

I am so grateful still (always) from yesterday that we finally got our two new air conditioners installed! They look really nice and work well, too. The workers did a wonderful job. Thank you all for your prayers on that! I do ask for continued prayers that the owner will have a change of heart to offer us something toward the A/C cost. At least he did pay for their pick up and installation.

I am grateful I had a quiet (and isolated) space to stay in yesterday with a nearby bathroom, too, while the noise was going on at home. Related, a friend by phone kept me company for quite a while which was a Blessing, too.

Extra grateful last light for a soft, safe bed. I was not used to being out most of the day and was tired. Beautiful morning today.

Happy Friday to all!

To the bolded--That's what I'm trying to do right now. I just mowed on Saturday, and I can't believe how tall the grass is already. And its so much harder to do (self propelled push mower) when the sun is shining and it's almost 80 degrees already. I am almost 3/4 done, but had to stop and take a break, put a fan blowing on me, and drink a bottle of water. Make sure you all stay hydrated if/while doing yard work this weekend!
