Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

I've never Zoomed but I'd install it to have a nice chat with either Nick Cave who I worship or Kristen Stewart who's... a bit of a crush. I love her self aware and funny nature.

Dinner was pot roast I cooked from noon until six with garlic, onions, and mushrooms. Lots of gravy and it was fork tender! (I'm cutting back on meat but I saw chuck roasts in Costco and could not resist)

We did haircuts here today! I’d finally had enough of mine so DD cut it for me. It was way too long! I told her how to do it (basically about an inch off all around, God knows I’ve watched my hairdressers long enough!). She did a great job and I was really happy with it! (Even though it took two hours! :lmao:) DH really wanted a cut, too, so I gave it a whirl and it actually came out really good! He was very happy with it. Trying to talk DS into letting us try cutting his but so far he is holding out and waiting for his regular barber to open again, lol. (And of all of us he probably needed one the most!) So it was really satisfying to see that we could actually do it!

Wish I was brave enough to try and cut my own. But since the Gov is relaxing the stay at home order as of 5 pm Friday, I will be calling next week and making an appt for my hairdresser to do it! WTG for your daughter doing yours, and doing a good job!

ME! I had never heard of it, but when DH was in the hospital, I needed something, so binged watched from the beginning. So anxious to watch, he will probably be asleep, so he won’t even realize Lol.

We are finally getting warm weather, and I love it. Maybe the pool next week. 🤞 with the heater on for a week first lol.

We are finally going to get some too. 70's today, then maybe 85 tomorrow..I want warm weather, but I don't want HOT weather just yet!

I would love to Zoom with Denzel Washington ❤

Question of the day: 5/13 (Thanks to PollyannaMom!!) Which celebrity would like to have a "Zoom lunch date" with?
I think I’d like to have my Zoom lunch with Dolly Parton.
This is such a good choice. I love Dolly so it would be awesome to chat with her.

I'm not much of a chatter, I'm kind of shy in person so it would be hard for me to have a lunch, even a virtual one, with someone I don't know.... This question gave me anxiety just thinking about it. :sad2: Maybe I need to chat with some kind of celebrity therapist. :lmao:

Either Steven Colbert or the Green Brothers. I feel like I could be friends with either of them.

Watched "Harriett" yesterday. Very good movie. Wheel O' Movies gave us Birtdman before that, with mixed results. Our son and I liked it, my wife did not. I don't recall what our daughter thought of it.

Next is Kill Bill.

Second for Steven Colbert. I was going to say the Pope or the Queen, but both of those sound like they'd be really intimidating. Steven Colbert seems like a really down to earth person who's relatable. My other choice might be Gordon Ramsey, but I would be asking if he'd be willing to share some cooking tips.

I think I would enjoy lunching with the This Old House team, making it my own personal Ask This Old House session. The couple that does Hometown on HGTV might also be interesting to talk with as well. She seems to have a really good feel for color and design and could maybe give me some suggestions that suit our taste and comfort level instead of just the typical HGTV looks with shiplap, bling, and all the trendy buzzwords.

Not sure I'm a great fit for chatting with many people who'd be more traditionally labeled a celebrity.

Your answer made me think of someone else I would love to have a Zoom lunch with. Nate and Jeremiah..I love the 2 of them together, add their kids and they are such a special family!

Not familiar with this one. Are they an HGTV couple? Do they renovate or flip houses?

My zoom lunch date with a celebrity would be Queen Elizabeth II. I would love to ask her how it was to be in WW II in England. I just watched a documentary on her involvement in the war effort. Her family was also very involved. I would also love to just hear her talk about her life in general. I would find it fascinating.

Yes they are on HGTV. Nate used to be Oprah's designer. He had a friend (not sure if boyfriend or husband) who was lost in the tsunami in 2004. He later met Jeremy, and they are now married, and have 2 children. They have a show called Nate and Jeremiah-Save My House.

I'll have to look for that one. Can't imagine how I have missed it.

It's interesting to watch just how many people in my neighborhood are having trees taken down lately! Guess they all got their stimulus checks ;)

I've been trying to have a pleasant couple of days with Hurricane Joshua. We've been working on painting a somewhat large rock that my husband found buried in the backyard last year. We've taken a few trips with my mom to buy flowers and Josh picked one out for himself.

I finally signed up for Amazon Prime Video because I've wanted to watch Good Omens since I first heard about it. Neil Gaiman is my favorite author and I absolutely LOVE David Tennant and Michael Sheen! They totally nailed it. Now we've started watching Carnival Row...there were a few other shows I noticed in passing and the trailer for Upload sounds intriguing as well. As far as movies, I'm trying to get Josh to sit down and watch School of Rock - I bet he'd love it. And he's looking forward to the new Scooby-Doo movie coming out tomorrow.

Today the CT Air National Guard was scheduled to do a fly-over to salute the healthcare workers in our state. Our town was the last on the list. So we made sure we were outside at the scheduled time and even though he was late, we saw him! Joshua was SO excited; I took a few photos of the plane (flying low) and then quick got a photo of the pure joy on my child's face. But then I made the mistake of going on our town's open forum on FB...I am so saddened by the lack of gratitude and kindness of my fellow residents. So many people complained, "Wow, everybody else gets a whole squadron, they get jets...we get one lousy cargo plane." REALLY??? They did something nice mainly for the HEALTHCARE WORKERS, not us in the general population but we were lucky to see it, and that's the response they get? They didn't have to do anything at all! I thought it was really cool and the look on my kid's face was wonderful. I seriously am starting to hate this town. Of course, these are the same miserable people that are all for shaming - they try to post photos on the town forum of people not wearing masks, of people who don't go the correct way in the grocery store or - *gasp* - go down an aisle while someone else is in it. The same people that complain about the line at Starbucks - "Why is there such a long line? Aren't we supposed to be staying home?" (our Starbucks is giving FREE coffee to healthcare workers, that's why there's a line) - but get angry when someone points out, "But you're in the line, too...?" :sad2:

So you'd think I'd immediately say "Simon LeBon from Duran Duran," right? I've only had a crush on him for 39 years. (OMG, 39 YEARS??? ) But I'd be too tongue-tied.

Hands down, I wanna meet Wil Wheaton. We're almost the same age, we have a lot of the same interests, we both struggle with depression and anxiety, and he just seems really down to earth and friendly. I'd love to be friends with him.

It was a boring cleanup day. Did stuff like make herb bombs before the ingredients died and into the ice trays they went; zested lemons, limes, and oranges putting some of the zest in sugar for flavour, and others in ziploc bags for later use. Pickled some ramps too.

It's leftovers night. I combined a recipe I know by heart with a new to me one: fried rice, and tomatoes and eggs Chinese style.
Here's the link to the eggs and tomatoes because it's brilliant and simple:

Once the fried rice is made, add the eggs and tomato atop and chop it in. This is a true protein, veggies, and carb meal that requires 2 pots in my life but only one for others. Several choices for dessert tonight because the man bought wayyyy too many strawberries and I needed to use them so made a berry fool. There's also a bit of homemade fruit salad and a lot of chocolate cake. We'll see who wants what in the sweet department.
