Question of the day: 5/15: What is your favorite photo, and why do you love it? (thanks @PollyannaMom

I love pictures and in process of having several made into big pictures for decoration in the house. We have taken fun and gorgeous pictures around the world so I thought why should I be paying for ones from Kirklands that others have when I can have my own for the wall for close to the same cost. I have lots of family pictures and trunk from WW2 that belonged to my grandfather of pictures from my family generations ago. I have three favorites: our first disney picture during Matt's R&R from his 1st deployment during our first year of marriage, his grandparents 60th anniversary picture, and my grandparents wedding day picture with him in his Army uniform and she with a pretty flower in her hair. Priceless to me. What about you and your pictures?
Tina, sending positive thoughts to your friend :flower3: I’m a scrapbooker so pictures are everything to me. I think my favorites are of my great grandparents on both sides of the family. I just feel so very fortunate to have them. I come from poor farm folk on both sides and who knows how they had money to get a picture taken or who took the picture. I just feel gratitude when I look at them. Such difficult lives they had.

I have a couple
For scenery: I took a picture at Belliws Beach on Oahu. It rained a couple times while we were at the beach. I have a picture of these dark clouds coming in near the beach.

My parents holding hands at Opryland. They weren’t big on PDA so it really did capture a rare moment. Then my dad told me not to be a smart butt, lol

My dd: She was still in pull ups and she had a yellow ride in Jeep , It wasn’t the battery one so she had to go Fred Flintstone lol
Anyhow, she has the hose with her Jeep on the back deck washing it and taking a sip from the water hose.

My dgd: my favorite she was a couple months old and it was Christmas so I put the lower half of her in a small Christmas bag while she was a sleep lol. She looked like a little present

I read somewhere ? The writers discussing the final show, I’ll try to find it, quite interesting. Even Maya with the hair.

There was an article (sometime in the last few days, it all kind of runs together now) about S19 and GA, and how they had to change game plans due to Covid19. GA was supposed to tie in the (S19 incident) from this week on that show, but they aren't now; it'll be addressed but not as a direct show. Several other storylines were abandoned too. And they aren't saying if S19 will return at all or if it is, when.

found it. there are some spoilers, so if you haven't watched S19 finale, don't read.

Tina, first off, congratulations to Matt on his graduation, prayers for your friend and hugs  for you.

I LOVE looking at pictures, brings back so many memories. I have so many favorites it would be hard to choose but the couple that popped into my head when I read the question were....one of my husband and daughter. She was probably less than a year old, I was taking the picture from behind, he is standing at the sink washing dishes and she's standing beside him looking up at him...its just the cutest thing. :lovestruc Another one is a picture of my paternal grandparents....its from the 40s but I can't remember if its before WWII or after...my Grandma look so glamorous and my Papa looks so handsome in his Army uniform.

Happy Saturday to all,

Thank you for sharing your memories with me. I love hearing about you all and travels or experiences and your life. It's like sitting over lunch sharing stories. In this day and time I need that. I don't know about anyone else. Today is graduation day. We actually went to our favorite mom/pop breakfast place and sat outside. It wasn't that bad but it was different just being aware of everything going on and worried if wrong move. I have a carrot cake in the oven now for Matt and I ordered good pizza and beer for dinner and we'll watch fun movie. Best I can do right now.

No update about my friend. I guess I'm going with no news is good news maybe. I have to bite the bullet and call my doctor and confess how I'm not feeling well and having flare up that I need to deal with as well but I really want to stay away as long as I can until I see my mom. Maybe we can do consultation first and then decide what to do afterwards. All this too complicated. Life was complicated enough before the plague came along.

Gratitude:
Nice breakfast at our favorite place to make it almost normal.
Facetimed with my mama today and she was feeling good emotionally and physically.
Good beer and pizza tonight with my college man.

Peace and safe health to all.

Question of the day: 5/16: Live music? Fan or not fan? Last concert you went to?

I love live music from big concerts or small dive bars to the kid outside practicing. I treated myself to tickets to George Strait with Chris Stapleton and Brothers Osborne for this summer. Unfortunately the concert was postponed until next summer. I don't know if we will get to a concert this summer or not. Last summer we saw Rascal Flatts, Heart, and Hottie and Blowfish. I hope something figures itself out but who knows.

Congratulations officially to Matt! Hug, Tina, please take care of yourself! You are so right, this does feel like the plague :( I may have said this before but in talking with several church friends recently they all felt (I agree horribly :()that we don't think going back to church this year will happen. SO sad.

I am not a live music person. loud, constant noise does not work at all for me, TMJ and otherwise. The only "live" music I miss so much is signing Hymns at church.

Three Saturday things I am grateful for:

Re-arranging some furniture in my bedroom has allowed for a much lighter/airier feel. The space feels better now :)
One super long game of Uno this morning. It did get a little tiring but was a fun way to spend some time.
Sun shining outside.

I don't think I can pick one favorite photo, there are just too many that I love. Maybe one the photos of my family in DL done by the photopass people, because I'm usually the photographer and not in a lot of photos, so we don't have many whole family pics.

I love listening to live music, preferably in small venues. Not counting live music at bars, my last concert was an indie band named Glitterfox.

of course, love almost all music. Jeez, last concert was...oiy, George Michael, back in high school. /cringe Two of my BFFs were going, along with the hot guy I was into at that time (he was driving, and was in ROTC with them), so I went along. Nothing worked out for me, haha. Fiddler on The Green, first concert there (and turns out my last concert....of course the other two were a Crystal Gayle show at some rodeo or something, back in middle school; and Def Leppard, Hysteria tour.)

Got up and had a baking itch. Last night, I started a no knead foccacia (seriously, the easiest bread I have ever made). Made a batch of Alton's chewy chocolate chip cookies while the foccacia finished rising. Then started a batch of spaghetti sauce, with homemade spicy sausage meatballs. Drew the line at fresh pasta, though...not until I get a pasta machine! We had it for lunch, and are doing a clean out the leftovers for dinner (pork chops from yesterday and the spaghetti from today).

Geez- I think last live concert I was out was Jimmy Buffet or James Taylor. It’s been SO long I can’t remember!
My first concert was Moody Blues, best concert was Plant/Page. Biggest regret not seeing? Duran Duran! Biggest hope? To catch Elton John before he really retires. My husband wants to see George Strait next time we go to Vegas but I hope to get out of that... I can’t do Country music.

Good Saturday.

DH and I took an 8.5 mile bike ride today. Saw 2 eagles. Then I came home and cooked. I made shredded chicken in homemade BBQ sauce for tomorrow, brownies for tomorrow, and taco meat for Monday.

DD is scheduled for a repeat c-section Monday and DGD will be here starting tomorrow night. (Sorry if I am repeating myself.) I wanted to get food prepped for when she is here. I also may not be around here much while I have DGD.

Question of the day: 5/16: Live music? Fan or not fan? Last concert you went to?
If I was wealthy, I might. I think concerts are so expensive and usually you aren't very close. Last live performance would be the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Christmas concert in 2018. As far as pop music, I saw Barry Manilow at University of Delaware sometime ago and saw N'Sync with DD, her friend, and friend's mom, in 1999 in Hershey PA.

Gratitudes:
Nice day and bike ride.
Seeing eagles.
Lots of food prepped.

Loud music in an enclosed space is not really my thing (at least not now - my tolerance was higher when I was younger.) I do enjoy mellow, outdoor concerts, though.

Technically, the last live music performance I went to was probably one of those "music in the park" type of things.

But the biggest I ever went to was when Billy Joel and Elton John toured together. I saw them at the old Foxborough Stadium back in '94.

Not a big fan of live music,,last concert I went to was Barry Manilow (LONG time ago), it was the 7'th time I had seen him and I finally had front row seats. Best time ever. Even longer ago than that, I saw Kiss in concert-too loud for me. And I had won tickets to see the Jackson 5 in Chicago, so far away you could barely tell who was who, except for Michael

Grateful today for the beautiful weather. I got grocery shopping done, laid down the weed barrier in the garden and tomorrow I will be planting 36 tomato plants, squash, zucchini and cuke seeds, and building teepees or something of that sort for the Kentucky Wonder beans.

I've always loved concerts, but I'm finding lately that I don't really enjoy them as much as I used to. I'm getting increasingly anxious in crowds (I hate big arenas, but small theatres at the casinos are okay), I don't like to be away from my son for a long period of time, I have trouble holding my bladder for several hours and staying awake past midnight... ;)

The last one was in December, DH and I saw The Cult at one of our casinos. In November, we took Josh to see Paw Patrol Live (does that count? There was some singing ;) ). Before that, in August, we went to Tanglewood with DH's entire family to see John Williams' Film Night at Tanglewood - a tradition for us; I have attended with them every year since 2009, except for 2015 because I gave birth to Josh 4 days earlier :) (We just learned last night that this year's entire season at Tanglewood has been canceled. I'm trying to find a projector for my laptop, thinking to try to make our own Film Night at my in-laws' house.)

I think prior to that, in 2017, DH and I saw The Hollywood Vampires (Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, Johnny Depp, and various friends), and Duran Duran, opened by Chic featuring Nile Rodgers (the 5th time seeing Duran Duran for me. We got upgraded to FOURTH ROW. It was awesome.)

I've only technically been to two sometime in the early 2000s just as I moved to Florida. One of them was a Christina Aguilera concert, where one of the opening acts was Destiny's Child. In fact, it was the main reason I went to begin with. There was a signing in the Florida Mall that morning too in which the three (at the time) members of Destiny's Child appeared. I got to shake Beyonce's hand and got an autograph of all three. It was a madhouse too. The other concert was for Matchbox 20, but that one too was for one of the opening acts: Everclear.
