Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning. Our forecast for today was originally no chance of rain, so why is it raining outside? Now it says showers ending by midday. But it's extremely muggy outside. Temp is 74 going to 86. I was outside filling the birdfeeders when I thought I felt something falling, by the time I got back to the house, it was full on rain. I was already wet, so I took the fountain out of the birdbath and brought it inside to clean it. Then I scrubbed the birdbath well, and refilled it.

Summer finally called me back after dinnertime. She sent me a video of the antifreeze coming out somewhere under the car, but in the middle of the car, not at the front. My guess is it's leaking somewhere and it's just dripping down to the lowest point before coming out. She's letting it sit for now and working on getting the truck fixed with new plugs, wires, and coil packs.
She has now convinced herself that she can get a car at Carvana. I'm thinking that's not going to work out. They have no credit to speak of. She kept texting me pics of cars she liked, saying she was qualified for $18,000. I can't convince her that qualified doesn't mean you get credit. Then she tells me she's preapproved, same thing, preapproved does not mean approved. Also, the one car she fell in love with online requires a $4500 down payment. She can't pay her rent in full, most of her utilities are behind and she can't afford to fix what she has now. She thinks they can swing a $400 monthly car payment. I reminded her that she's going to have to have more insurance, which she looked up and it would cost her $200 a month. And if he gets laid off, which happens every year for a month or more, that car payments would have to be made. Then she started with the 'if I had a co signer, I'd only have to put $500 down. I made it clear that I am not co signing for anything, nor am I giving her a $4000 downpayment, I wanted that clear right from the start.
She's decided to wait awhile and try to save up money, or wait for tax time. It's like banging my head against a brick wall trying to get her to face reality.
I did all my cleaning and laundry yesterday so today is a do nothing but relax and do something I actually want to do today 😉

Have a good Sunday everyone

:grouphug:dear Lynn. You made the right decision. I truly hope you enjoy a calm Monday, my friend.

I am praying for a very positive outcome this afternoon from a meeting. The support I have here on this has meant everything to me, truly beautiful. Dad will be here, too :)

Have a tigger-ific day, everyone :tigger:

Good morning. Bright sunshine, a little less humidity, even though it dumped down rain again a little after midnight. Going to be 85 today.

I watched Tiger this morning after she ate. She went to the shed and sat on the ramp taking a bath. I picked some catnip and brought it over to her, she ate it, and then scooted right underneath the ramp to get underneath the shed. She was under there last night when I went out to spray ammonia around the old shed to keep the groundhog that keeps coming back away. I don't need that around here. I was walking around the new shed and called Tiger to see if she would answer. I hear a meow, so I went and got a flashlight and laid on the ground and peered through the lattice work that's at the bottom of the shed around the edges. There she was, all the way on the other side, right by the ramp, curled up looking at me. I guess it really must be cooler under there. Cats are weird sometimes, lol

Have a nice day everyone

I posted this in the prayer thread and am copying/pasting here. I have an overall fustrating update. My dad and I talked with the director, C. C said what I need would be fine with him if his boss, M, approves. M has said no. But C when he told me yes a few weeks ago made it clear before being able to tell me yes he would need his boss' ok... Tomorrow, M will supposedly be here and I will have an opportunity I hope to talk to him. So SAD. All over 15 minutes before 7am! Zero cost to this place. Everything to me. Prayers much appreciated.

Thank you dear Bobbi. I feel a renewed sense of peace and calm. I know I have what is right and God, Who is forever Right on my side. God willing, I will share a truly fantastic update later. Have a great day friends.

Once again, I typed this all out, hit send, and just now realized that it never sent. So Good afternoon instead, lol

Good morning. Sunny and going to be 84 today, less humidity again which makes it so much nicer to be outdoors. I mowed the lawn and got that out of the way yesterday, then got in the car to fill the gas can and the car wouldn't start, not even a click. I got the jump box out and connected it and it started right up. The battery place is 30 seconds down the road and he checked it but said it's fine. I know the lights weren't left on, they're on auto, and I'm pretty sure I closed the door tight, but who knows. The battery is only 1 1/2 years old. I came home and let it run for 30 minutes, and started it up last night with no problem. Same with this morning, but I'm going to be very wary of it when I go somewhere until I know it's okay. Jump box is on the floor in the back seat, just in case. It was the first time I used it, but it was very easy thankfully.

Summer applied for a car loan at a local credit union. Of course they wanted a co signer, so she used her husband, but he has no credit so they're not sure they'll go for it without a second co signer, and it's not going to be me. She took the Lincoln to the garage across the street from her house to see if it was a simple fix, but of course it's not. They said it may be a bad head gasket seal or something even worse. I think it might be a cracked block, but I'm not a mechanic. Even if it's the seal, it means tearing part of the engine apart, and she can't afford that either. She put new plug wires on the truck, because she has to drive him back to work today, but it's going to be without working AC.

Off to get chores done before it gets too warm, Have a good day
