Thank you kindly! :goodvibes

Glad to help! :goodvibes

So with all this celebrating I am thinking of a cake with 3 different layers. CAn I get each layer to be different flavors? Each decorated with a different theme for each person's accomplishments? Does this sound possible?

Thanks for any advice.

Disney can do cakes with three different-flavored tiers, but each tier is usually one big cake that's been cut into several layers, so all the layers in that tier are the same flavor.

Three-tiered cakes are pricey—figure on at least $600-$900. What you might do is get three different mini cakes, one for each person. :thumbsup2

I'm trying to order a cake for the California Grill. I was given Chef Brian's email and emailed him last week. I have not heard back from him. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to hear from him? Thanks!

my FIL (jk's dad) is having a birthday during our trip this december and we were thinking of ordering a cake as a surprise. we are staying at kidani (so we have a fridge for leftovers) but are also having his birthday dinner at his restaurant choice of narcoosee's... which brings me to all you DIS cake experts.. should we order a cake from AKL for delivery to our room or from the GF for delivery at the narcoosee's dinner? we want a small 6 or 8 inch freshly made cake (so i guess we'd request a marble cake to ensure we don't get stuck with one of the pre-made frozen cakes) with nothing too fancy...where do you think we will get the best bang for our buck?

I don't have a personal experience but if it was me, I would use the Grand Floridian and get it delivered to the table at dinner.

What a GREAT idea! I had thought to do a larger cake so everyone could have a taste...but I like this idea better! Thanks Lurkyloo! :worship: Now to figure out what to do for each of us

Here are some pictures of the FANTASTIC allergy cake that was specially made for my DD's 9th birthday party at Tokyo Dining. The Yacht and Beach Club Bakery Team did an AMAZING job! Her cake was entitled, "Growing Up with Walt Disney World". All of the pictures on the cake were from past vacations that she dearly remembers and the things that she has "grown" to love!

Looks great! What allergies does your daughter have? How did the cake taste?

Thought I would share a picture of my son's 1st birthday from 2010. We had it delivered to the Animal Kingdom Lodge :)

This cake is awesome!!! I am celebrating my son's birthday during our stay at AKL in December... So I must ask.... Who did you work with to get such a great custom cake delivered to AKL??? I have been stressing because I haven't heard the best results with ordering directly through AKL, so am wondering which bakery/chef you worked with. TIA!!!

Thank you to everyone who has shared ideas and photos in this thread- I drew a lot of inspiration from them!

I wanted to post pictures of the cake that Chef Brian made for my parents' anniversary. I had him create a Main Street Electrical Parade cake! The MSEP logo was done in fondant and the stand-up turtle, dragon, and train on the cake were white chocolate pieces. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse inside, covered in chocolate buttercream. I had it served to our table at Chef Mickey's, as a surprise. It was very very tasty and I loved the way it turned out.

when i contacted him last year i heard back in less than a day. perhaps he is on vacay for a bit? if you still have a bit of time, i'd give it another week and tryagain. if you're short on time, call them back and ask if he is and if anyone is covering off for him. he was wonderful to work with and was always very prompt.

Getting some great ideas for an October birthday dinner in GF!!!!

my son loved this cake-- so we faxed in the photo and got a price of 300.00
He didnt love it no more.

omg! thats my cake...and it was 66 dollars!!!! i ordered it from pat at the gf in sept 09 for our trip in october 09 as a surprise for my military hubby. it was a six inch and i said i would like camo and mr and mrs potato head on it. she quoted me on the phone and that was the price i paid. how on earth could they come back with a 300 dollar price tag?

my mistake- 77

Last month I was quoted $250 for something similar to the Splash Mountain cake on this thread and thought it was a bit high. They did say it would be cheaper for a 2d picture though.

I haven't been on this thread in quite awhile and I apologize but don't really have the time to comb thru it but wondered if they have changed anything so as I could get a small cake or strawberry delivery to a value resort...it's a last min trip I just booked for this weekend and would love to surprise my son...
thanks in advance for any input!
Micky
