I would be tempted to say something like, well, I wouldn't call them friends, more like acquaintances of mine whom I've decided to let them use some of my points since I won't be able to use them this year. If pressed more, I'd probably say, well, I'm very familiar with the personal use conditions of our membership, and I am happy to assure you that this complies with those terms - this absolutely falls within the definition of personal use in our DVC governing documents. But, I do really appreciate that you're trying to make sure I'm not renting commercially.
I would stay away from expressing frustration or unhappiness with their questions. In my experience, overwhelming them with positive reassurance and maybe a few chuckles will keep the tone down and make everyone feel happy when the call ends
. Then, if you want to separately complain by e-mail, well, go for it.
