OFFICIAL 2010 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) Tips and Tricks

Can'w ait for the first party to see what characters are out. Can't wait to see the 7 Dwarfs at Christmas!!!:santa:

I am thinking about going to the MVMCP on Thursday November 11 or the 12.
Which do you think would be better crowd level wise?

Generally Thursdays are lighter than Fridays, but that would change if the Orange County schools are off on the 12th.

Thanks for the info. Just checked, Orange County schools are not "scheduled" off for Nov 11, but Broward is. I am going to mull it over and make a decision soon. Thanks again.

Just curious if you would consider having your children do Pirate League on the same day you attend MVMCP. I just made a Pirate League reservation for November 8, and we are attending MVMCP that night.

My hesitation revolves around having the kids dressed up like pirates at a Christmas themed event. However, I'd like the kids to have the pirate experience early in the week so they can wear the costumes later in the week if they want. I'm dealing with a DD (6 yrs.) and DS (5 yrs.)

Lots of people do TPL into the party so I wouldn't worry about that!

I initially wrote off attending the MVMCP because of the extra cost of the ticket but I'm reconsidering. It just looks so magical and like so much fun. Who knows if when the next time we'll back back to Disney, let alone if we'll be there at Christmas time. My daughter is 3 1/2 and she is already a Disney girl.

I do have one question, watching the details of the MVMCP on Disney's site makes it seems like the Castle is only lit up with the gorgeous blue lights on the nights of the MVMCP, is that true or is that just standard for the castle during the holidays?

It is lit up every night. At least it has been in past years.

We are doing it. DS (5) and DD (4) will have TPL and BBB appointments around 3, then we have CRT ressies at 5:30, and then the party :)

Berlioz - thanks for posting this, I'm glad I found this thread! Seven Dwarfs :cool1: !! And also, Beast and the Snow prince will be joining the others in the Princess Room??? That is great!

I haven't read through the entire thread - so if this has been addressed, Sorry!!

We are planning on going either Dec. 7th or 9th - which day would be better crowd wise - both are on a weekday - but one has a discount the other doesn't? Will that come in to play? Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!!

2 questions:
1. How long are the 2 hows, Totaaly Tomorrowland and Celebrate the Season?
2. Are the cookies individually wrapped with ingredients listed?
Thanks!

Does anyone know if fastpasses are available during the MVMCP?

I don't think so, but from what I understand, you won't need them - most rides will probably be walk on (they were at MNSSHP when we were there, well except for the Haunted Mansion!).

Speaking of MVMCP-- here are some photos !!!

Great pictures Thanks for sharing DisneyNDecember. We can't wait for our first MVMCP. I'm waiting for the first report and pictures from this years party.:santa:

The Tremaine family dance party at the Grotto has been replaced with a dance party at the Diamond Horseshoe with characters from Toy Story.

.

Oh my gosh, my DD(4) is going to cry. The dance party with the Tremaines has been her absolute favorite thing at MVMCP the last 2 years. (She didn't care for the one over at Cosmic Rays (too crowded, too many bigger kids running over her; too much rap type music; too many strobe lights) She was a little unhappy last year because there was no Twas the Night. I guess I better start getting her ready now. Thanks for the warning...it never crossed my mind that with the Grotto gone they wouldn't just put the Stepmother and Stepsister's party somewhere else. It seemed like a huge hit with the 6 and under girls.
