Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

Thanks so much @bigpinkdaisy! You described it perfectly! I will update the renovations thread identifying a portion of building 4 is currently closed. Does it look like building 3 is open? What we're not sure is if that building has been renovated or not?

If anyone is staying in or stayed in Building 3/Tramp building in the past 2 weeks, was your room renovated? Easiest way to tell is, did your flooring include an inlaid pattern of a carpet or was all the flooring brown?

Thanks!

I checked again last night and the signs in the 50's/60's parking lots that were near building 1 when I first came in are all gone now. It seems as though Building 4 is the only one under refurb right now. That said, we are definitely in a room that hasn't been refurbished yet based on the brown flooring. It's room 4460 as we are literally checking out. Great location with a view of the Skyliner and close to Classic Hall, but the room is much, much smaller than I remember POP rooms being! Good for a quick two night stay but we will be bouncing back to the Boardwalk area which is our preferred location on our next visit!

Someone on wdwmagic posted pictures last week (Wednesday) of building 3 roped off for the refurbishment. So they must be currently working on it.

Just checking, Housekeeping is still every other day and if I check in on a Wednesday, the first day of housekeeping will be on Friday, correct?
Yes. And if you miss it, you miss it, they don’t try again the next day. You can of course always call for towels/trash/whatever whenever.

I missed my day as I was in my room due to afternoon thunderstorms. The next morning I requested towels before heading out and when I returned they were waiting for me on the table. That worked out well, no waiting around for them after I get back.

This is the biggest bummer of our trips since covid. Our rooms rarely get clean, much less than every other day and even when they do get cleaned, there is never any sweeping done. We stay 9 nights and have 2 kids so the floor gets NASTY. We used to have such amazing service at POP and all stars and I loved it, and tipped well every time! I wouldn't be so upset with the 150+$ a night VALUE rooms if the service was at least consistent?

I agree it’s inconsistent and the floors do get dirty. We normally stay 9-11 nights so the floors can get nasty.

Not ideal but I now take a baggie of dry swiffer cloths with me and occasionally put one under each foot and scoot around the bathroom and busier areas to pick up loose dirt and hair. Not idea but sure makes a difference!

One of things I like about split stays is a guaranteed fresh room. Sounds funny to some but on long trips, it’s pretty nice.

That’s a good idea. I was at Pop last month and was disappointed to find dust covered services when I first entered room and still dust covered after room was cleaned 2 days later. I took photos and was going to show them to CM at front desk but both times I went by the line was too long and I forgot to go back before I left.

Quick question - I have done some of the googling, but hoping someone has some actual hands-on experience. We are doing a split stay between Pop and CBR. I know Bell Services can handle our transfer, but wondering if we can just hop on the skyliner with our suitcase?

Unfortunately no, luggage is not permitted on any Disney transportation.

We are, for the first time, going to attempt an early flight and a park on the same day. Is there any way around having to take an Uber/Lyft to Pop, drop the luggage at bell services, and then go to AK? I'm trying to figure out if there is something else we can do with our luggage while we are at the park. (ie take the Uber/Lyft straight to AK)

We were there the last week of June and took the Skyliner from Pop to the Swan (got off the Epcot stop and walked over). My family of four each had a carryon suitcase and were allowed on. I asked a cast member the night before we checked out and they said it was no problem if it’s just a carryon. Hope that helps!

I can’t think of any options unless you only fly with backpacks and even those may be challenging to get through security as they would likely be very full. Also, I don’t believe the locker area are air conditioned so everything in your bags would be subject to the FL heat while you’re in the park. I think stopping to drop luggage is the only option I can think of.

If you’re willing to pay more for your transport some of the car services will drop you at the park and then take your luggage to the hotel for you. Gear Fusion had that on offer last time I booked with them, idk which others offer it.
