OFFICIAL 2010 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) Tips and Tricks

We will be there on the 19th also. We are doing the MK all day from rope drop to closing. We have a ressie at CRT at 4:00. this is our 1st MVMCP. We are soooo excited. If you see a family simply glowing, it will be us. :santa:

We're doing the same thing on both of our party days in December...... Rope drop, stay in the MK all day... early dinner at CRT, followed by the party!

We've done it before, so I know it's doable. It helps to find times during the day to regroup. Dinner at CRT will certainly do just that!

I've tried to read the whole thread but I haven't found any top tips for a MVMCCP newbie (or I didn't get it) Could someone give a Top 5?? What to do 1st?? When to get there?? Where to eat?? Must do or sees??? Thanks very much I'm really excited. Going on the Nov 8th.

Great when you get back make sure you tell us how it went ! My first MVMCP will be Dec 12 th. Maybe you can add some tips for us :santa:

If you're going to eat, do it before the party starts at 7!

I was debating even going to this party as we didn't think the Halloween one two years ago was that great, but after looking at these pics we are definitely going!

We'll be there Dec 11-19. Any idea on what day would be the best to go?

We'll be there the same week! We're going the 14th and 16th, Tuesday and Thursday. Last year every party the last week sold out, so there's no way to know which one will be best. I'd just go with what fits your touring plan best. Which day can you afford to be up late?

The tips really are the same as for any of the hard ticketed events. I'll start with a few and maybe others will add as we go. What ELSE do we have to do to pass the time until the parties start next week!

1) Someone already said eat before 7. That's great advice. 5 hours SEEMS like a long time, but it really isn't. It will fly by and you still won't get it all done. So eat before the official party start at 7.

2) You should be able to get in at 4 with a party ticket. If you're not spending the day there like we are, be there at 4. Do some rides, eat some dinner.

3) Main Street gets REALLY congested. Get your spot early for the shows and fireworks. See the second parade. It's typically a little less busy, as family with little ones sometimes leave early. At a sold out party (not likely in November, but VERY likely in December) even the second parade can be packed. So remember........ EARLY.

4) PRIORITIZE. You can't do it all. Is your photo with Mickey and Minnie a priority? Be in line prior to 7. Maybe the dwarfs are your thing. These lines stay busy all night. So plan to be there early (6:30 or earlier) so you're using non-party time for your waiting.

5) Focus on things you can't do during regular park hours. Reports are that Tiana/Naveen and Rapunzel/Flynn will be out during the party. But you can meet them during regular park hours. The other princesses in Toontown will have princes with them who don't typically appear during the day, so we'll definitely see them during the party.

6) Check out the first post on this thread by Berlioz70. I imagine she will update it if needed. Her information is typically very accurate and helpful. There is also a link in her signature to her Character website. There is a page on MVMCP.

Anyone else want to add to the list?

We'll be there on the 19th too!! We went 3 years ago and had a blast! One tip I have learned over the years is that MK isn't usually very crowded on MVMCP days since it closes at 7 (most non-MVMCP guests go to another park), so we'll stay at MK all day and get the rides and everyday characters knocked out before the party. Then when the party starts we can concentrate on the special parades, characters, & fireworks!!!:santa:

I guess you have not been in the last couple of years during the POP warner mess. We were down during early Dec 2 years ago and all of the dates were a complete sell out except one date at the end of our stay. We had the unfortunate experience of doing the party on a day I thought most of them would be cleared out. It was so packed with people you could not move on main street...A pushing and shoving match actually broke out duing the 1st parade...It was a zoo...we could not believe how many people.

Now that was a few months before the recession really took hold. We did not go down last year, so I don't know how the crowds were last year.

We are going this year a bit later but before the high season and hoping for the best

Maybe someone from last year can update

I was there for the last 2 parties in 08. Tuesday the 16th was a sellout and really packed. I understand the preceding Tuesday was as well. I believe this was driven by the fact that those were discount nights. We were there Thursday the 18th, the final party, and didn't find it to be a zoo at all. Yes, it was busy, but not nearly as bad as the sold out party on Tuesday.

Last year every party during the last week was a sell-out. Kind of surprising what with the bad economy and all.

to me I think they should limit the number of tickets being sold so it isn't crowded to the point where you can not see and do everything. I know they want to make money but paying extra to be pushed around isn't my cup of tea we will be going this year and I hope it isn't like that. I've been in the past and it was great but it wasn't when pop Warner was there and I was not aware of there stay until I already booked:sad1:

I think they cost $20...we haven't bought one, but we inquired about it the last 2x we were there...we will probably give in this time!

Yikes! That's what I was afraid of. I doubt we will spend that on a disposable souvenier. A couple of trips ago I spent about $10 on a Mickey ears mylar balloon, brought it on the plane, and it popped. It was soooo loud and scared me and some other passengers! If we do get one, I would buy it the first day so we can at least enjoy it for 5 days.:surfweb::rotfl:

So we're only 4 days away from the 1st MVMCP and there's still no map yet? When should we expect to see one?

does anyone know if Phineas and Ferb will be part of the parade at MVMCP?

I know last yr they were on the televised parade, just wondering if the are in the party parade

I just printed out a map from this site. Click on events tab and go to Decembers and click MVMCP and the party map is there.

I think that is last years map because it still has dance party listed at the Groto which is gone, I think.

Unfortunately, the televised parade and party parade are completely different, Phineas and Ferb will not be in the party parade this year.

Berlioz70, Thanks for responding! Also thanks for all your help w/ MNSSHP. We went for the 1st time (9-21-10) & had a blast! All your character help was amazing!

Very sad to hear Phineas & Ferb wont be in the parade. I figured if we couldnt have a meet n greet the parade would be the next best thing;)

I think they have quite the "following"

Updated the first post with a 6:15 start time for Cinderella's Holiday Wish.
