Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

Glad to hear you had a good trip and made it home safe.

Now the 17 hours? I am very curious to see what was up with that. Sorry to hear you all got sick I hope your feeling better now!

I will be taking advantage of the new discount tomorrow! I thought about you when I saw the discounts today.

Looking forward to hearing more when your up to it.

Ugh! What an end to your weekend! Hope everyone gets their rest! Looking forward to reading about your trip!!!

Oh, bummer! Terrible trip home but at least you arrived safely, even if tired. There must be a bad tummy bug going around - lots of people are reporting having it. So sorry - that didn't help your exhaustion. Hope the rest of the week goes much better and you get to rest a bit.
But on the other note, hooray for all discounts!!

Hey Lisa!

Glad to see that you made it to Tennessee and back. I completely understand the drive taking forever on Sunday. We drove back from Iowa on Saturday and Sunday and it rained the whole stinking time. It was awful! I was so glad to walk in our door on Sunday.

So, we've had some changes around here and we may end up being at the World at the same time as you this year. We originally had booked to go to Hawaii, but with DH having an unexpected job change, we decided to hold off on that and we are going to head to WDW instead. I'm a little disappointed, but hey, we'll be at Disney World, so it will be fine.

Now, when it your pre-trip report going to start?

:scared1: 17 hours :scared1: I would have NOT been going to work, my dear.

Get some rest, and we'll see the update when you are up to it.

17 hours in the car sound just dreadful.
:woohoo::yay: for saving almost $500 on your trip!!!

Whoa what a trip home! It took us a while longer too but we left early in the day. I think we added about 2 hours to our trip. We got held up in wonderful one-lane construction traffic in Mississippi...40 miles from home! That took 2 hours! Was it around Chattanooga you got held up? I have a friend that left there at 3pm and I-24 (which is always a nightmare) was a parking lot. We were texting back and forth about how slow it was. And that rain! Oy!!! Non stop from Knoxville to Tuscaloosa! I thought of you guys on the road. Glad you made it home safe though and that your trip went well. Ours was awesome. The weather was perfect!!

Stinks you got a stomach bug! What a way to welcome you back from the holiday!!

Can't wait to see more of your TR!!

That's crazy your drive home took so long, was there an accident or weather issue? Glad your weekend went well otherwise. That's good you were at least able to get some sort of discount for your trip.

I hadn't been paying much attention to discounts, etc recently since we most likely aren't going next year. We had planned a cruise in March but I am out of work for the past 8 months and thought I would have had something by now so it doesn't look like there will be any vacation any time soon at least not in the early part of the year. Maybe if I get something soon we can do something in the Fall.

I did notice the 30% deal on the boards when I came on today and hoped you were able to get it applied to your trip.

It WAS absolutely dreadful! I was happy to take advantage of the new offer. :thumbsup2

I thought about ya'll as well. We went to Gatlinburg and I looked for you all but, with all those folks around, I probably wouldn't have spotted you if you had been standing 10 feet in front of me.

We left about 11:00 a.m. which was an hour or so later than I wanted but we couldn't make ourselves leave Lacey & Jesse until the last minute.

The traffic started right after we left Pigeon Forge and didn't let up until we got close to Birmingham. It was horrible!

We never could figure out why the traffic was so bad. We never saw any major wrecks until just about the time we reached Birmingham which was a long way away from where we started.

I hate to hear that you won't be going on vacation soon. This economy still sucks and I don't see it improving any time soon.

Tower of Terror is my favorite ride of all, and I am so glad Hunter liked it! I hope y'all had a good trip up and have had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Safe travels on the way home.

Tower of Terror is now one of my favorites as well!

I love ToT!!! My favorite ride in all of WDW!!

I hope your trip to TN has been as awesome as ours so far! We currently are breaking from the fun by watching LSU vs Arkansas so I thought I would catch up on being way behind on TRs!

Your PIN Code ordeal would make me furious!!

I logged on while we were in Tennessee but forgot to reply to your post. The trip was absolutely wonderful minus the drive home.

Not only is Tower of Terror a very fun and thrilling attraction, I also think it has one of the most interesting queue. It's just so pretty when you are in the lobby part! I'm glad Hunter was able to conquer his fear and enjoy the ride. :)

The queue is very cool! Hunter said he's ready to go back and ride again.

Hi Lisa!!! Just checking in! Hope all is well! Haven't heard from you in a while! :surfweb:

Thanks for checking in on me!

17 hours!:scared1: I'd be crying. I hope you get rested soon.

Believe me, I was ready to start boo-hoo'ing. It was horrible!

Glad you got some kind of discount. Maybe there will be a better one before you go. But it looks like the discount% are less than previous years.

I was happy to see at least some sort of discount! I wish it had been free dining but, hey, I'll take whatever they care to pass my way.

17 hours! :faint: That is horrible! I know that feeling - when the week has is only half done and you can't wait for the weekend.

Looking forward to hearing about your Tennessee Thanksgiving (leave out the ride home....:rotfl:)

Those were the longest 17 hours I believe I have ever experienced. I was so miserable. Of course, John and Hunter were dozing on and off so I was dealing with it almost all on my own.

I was a trillion updates behind and posted comments on your Facebook!

LOVED the dancing in the dark pictures & your jam session with Mulch Sweat & Shears! You guys are so stinkin' fun. I sincerely hope our dates cross sometimes so we can meet, I think my husband might die of embarrassment between us, but you and I would have a blast I think! :rotfl:

Have you found the video from Mulch Sweat & Shears?

So glad the pin ordeal got figured out, you are most certainly CORRECT that Disney should have treated you better. Shame on them for not returning phone calls. And don't even get me started on how long a phone call to them takes...being a TA I'm on the phone with them almost daily and a 30 second question takes a 5 minute phone call. :headache: And no, I do NOT want to take the survey!

Glad you're all caught up. You and I would make a fine couple if we ever met up in Disney! In normal circumstances, John would be embarassed by some of my behavior but at Disney, he's fine with me acting like a fool!

Wow, 7 hours for 150 miles? That is crazy. Sorry you had such a horrible drive home and no time to sleep before work, then got sick! :sad2:

On a better note, yay for getting a good discount and saving money. Not the best discount, but better than none for sure! :woohoo: Hopefully a better one will come along later that you can switch to.

The drive was sooooooo long and stressful!

The discount wasn't the greatest but it did save me money so I'm happy with it.

Glad to hear you had a good trip and made it home safe.

I hope to get an installment posted very soon. My boss is about to drive me batty (or battier :lmao:) and I can't seem to get him to leave me alone.

Did you get the discount applied to your vacation? I hope you were able to save some moolah!

Ugh! What an end to your weekend! Hope everyone gets their rest! Looking forward to reading about your trip!!!

I can not hardly wait until tomorrow night. I want to hit the sack early and sleep late. I need SLEEP!

I hate having stomach "issues" and I fight throwing up. The week has been better but I'm still super sleepy!

I absolutely hate driving in the rain! It sucks doesn't it?!

Oh I hope that our paths will cross at Disney! I love meeting my Dis friends in "real life".

:scared1: 17 hours :scared1: I would have NOT been going to work, my dear.

Get some rest, and we'll see the update when you are up to it.

If there had been someone at work other than myself and my boss, then I would not have gone to work on Monday. I need sleep!

I believe I left off with us having rode the Tower of Terror and Hunter admitting that he had said "the S word" by accident but having asked for His forgiveness. ;) Mama had called and said that she was on her way so we made our way to the front of the park to meet her. I hadn't realized that it was time for the afternoon parade until we got to the main street and saw people beginning to stake out viewing spots.

John and I found a spot to sit but Lacey and Hunter wanted to go to the other side and in the store that sells autographed posters. I told them to go ahead and to just stay on that side when they were done because it'd be easier for them to spot their Mamaw from there.

Waiting:

Not long after, the parade started. I am sure that these are out of order but still they are parade pictures and you can see what a great spot we had.

By the time the parade was over, Mama had arrived and we waited for some of the people to clear out before trying to meet up with everybody.

**Let me stop here and organize a few pictures and I'll be back.

I've never seen that parade. Love all of the characters! I may go out of my way to see it in January!

I love the parade pictures. To be honest I don't stop and watch parades, they are just not my thing, but I do like the Pixar Pals parade.

I really like the Pixar Parade, it my 2nd favorite next to Celebrate in MK. It's just so colorful. We caught it in the same spot as you back in Jan. There were lots of spots there just before it started.

Great update and parade pics! I loved that parade, I love most of the Pixar characters, especially the ones from UP! and Toy Story. I love Carl from Up! and his cane with the tennis balls on it, as a Nurse, it makes me laugh when I see it thinking about various patients I have seen with them on their canes and walkers.

You did have a great spot for the parade! Did they have 2 parades that day? The Pixar one and the Star Wars one?

Oh I almost forgot I saved $258.11 with the discount:) Not a fortune but I'll take it!

Can't wait to see your parade pics when I check back from home.

Oh - and congrats on saving $500 on your trip. that's awesome!!!!!:woohoo:

I'm so happy to see you back on the boards. The parade is worth stopping for in my opinion.

We don't stop and watch too many of the afternoon parades but this one is cute and we were there so we thought "why not?".

I thought the same thing....it's so colorful and fun! Isn't that a great spot to watch?!

The Pixar characters are so cute and that made the parade even better. John likes Carl too because he reminds us of our next door neighbor.

I think there were two parades on the calendar that day but this is the only one that we were able to see.

Hey a $258 savings is a $258 savings!

Can't wait to see your parade pics when I check back from home.

Oh - and congrats on saving $500 on your trip. that's awesome!!!!!:woohoo:

I had at least double the parade pictures I posted. I couldn't help myself.

I was happy to save the $500!

Good morning! I'm trying to work on another installment but the boss is here and is in one heck of a mood. I think I've told ya'll before that he reminds me of the big guy on Popeye....what's his name? I think it's Brutus. He's big and bellows like I don't know what. Yesterday, I was about ready to tell him to kiss my you-know-what, pick up my keys and walk out. I don't know what's up with him....maybe issues with the new wifey-poo? Anyway, I don't know if I'll get an installment up today but I'll try.

Great parade pictures, Lisa. We've not done the parade at the Studios since one of the last times both Mark and Andy were with us (I'm guessing 1998 or 1999). :scared1:

You had a great spot!
