Not ROFR thread - general discussion

We just sold a 100pt contract at Boulder Ridge at $100/pt-contract was stripped, so I feel lucky to have gotten $100 because I got it at $95 a pt and it had double pts. Last year.

Anyway, we decide we wanted our contracts to have at least a 2057 exp. We own at AKV and August UY.

We are still newbies and not in the market for a different UY.

We are considering buying more direct pts at the Lakeside Lodge but in the meantime we have put in multiple offers on AKV.

We bid $115/pt on AKV contract with 68 current pts and 120 pts in August 2026…..
Seller pays dues and closing costs. 68 (2025), 120 (2026), etc

Seller countered at seller paying dues and closing costs at $120 pt. We accepted yesterday but when I emailed, one of the agents said the contract had multiple offers. The agent we had been emailing said she would mark it as pending after I forwarded the email where we accepted.

She didn’t and I emailed again. It is now
Marked as pending but now we are concerned that we may not get the contract.

It is not a great deal by any means but it matches our UY and is at our home resort. We have three other AKV contracts both direct and resale. We are satisfied averaging $109/pt on a relatively small contract since seller is paying closing and dues for 2025.

Should we be concerned that two different agents sent conflicting emails?

With all the above info, it is easy to determine who the broker is, but I want to make clear we are just concerned but not bashing them.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Sounds like there was a bit of a flurry of activity on the contract, and the broker (understandably) got out a little bit over their skis.

I'd give it a few days to let things settle a little bit, then reach out and ask the broker what the status is. If you got it, great. If not, there will be others.

Thank you @disneylandtour, @MerlinandtheMouse, and @Sandisw! Your replies are so helpful and give me hope there is a path out of this.

Also wanted you all to know that we are well. The cancellation is actually due to something good (we think). We have been thinking about purchasing a condo in Naples, FL and the right opportunity suddenly presented itself. Unfortunately, the walk-through, closing date, furniture delivery, etc. will conflict with our Nov Disney trip. We have not seen the condo in person yet so we want to be there for the walk-through. We actually owned a small house in this community and spent winters there from 2015 - 2021 and are somewhat familiar with the condos. They are in a low-rise (2 story) building and were not impacted by Hurricane Ian. Super excited to be going back!
