"Official" 2025 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

This is our first Christmas party and I'm curious about the wait times for rides like Tron and SDMT. We mostly want to watch the parade and fireworks, but this will be our only MK day, so I'm trying to set realistic expectations for how many rides we can expect to do.
Lines are usually longish at the start as non party guests can enter the queues until the actual start of the party.

Last year, we waited about 30 minutes for 7D and just before the fireworks, we rode Tron with a 5-10 minute wait.

I am considering doing to the Firework dessert party, garden view.

  • How much of the party time does it take up?
  • Are people heavily crammed in the area or is it actually enjoyable?
  • Do you have to stay in the area for the party the entire time or can you come and go as you wish and show up for the fireworks and leave afterwards?

I am trying to find some helpful YT videos, but they all seem focused on the desserts and not the area/sitting/seating or process.

Our plan is to also use one of our park days at MK before the MVMCP as we read that attendance/crowds are typically lower on event days. We'll probably go in to MK for rope drop, enjoy, leave for a leisurely lunch at a resort, then come back in the early afternoon. No rushing, just a relaxing time.

DD and I did this last year.

We were seated around 8 and the fireworks started at 10, but we were the first ones in the dessert area and our focus isn't on characters and rides so much as just enjoying the party atmosphere and of course watching the shows, fireworks and parades.

The garden is pretty full but not elbow to elbow. We had room to sit on the ground before the fireworks started.

Which area? You can come and go from each area with your wristband.

Yes, you get a wristband that allows you into the dessert party and then into the garden viewing area.
Do I understand correctly that the dessert party is in the same place for everybody in Tomorrowland, but some people watch from Tomorrowland in seats and others from the ground in the garden, depending on which ticket you purchased?

Pretty much. The seats and treats party is on the lower level and the garden pre and post parties are on the upper level, both in Tomorrowland Terrace.

As @buzzrelly states, these are three different parties with different check in times and procedures.

I read that the later MVMCP parade is easier to score a good standing/seating location to view. Any historical precedent for that?
That is generally correct. You have some people (I'd assume many families with younger children) that leave after the first parade and/or before the second parade. You are going to have better luck showing up closer to time, and finding a decent spot for the second parade; however, like the first parade, people start camping out very early for the prime spots. We typically have better luck finding a last minute spot along the Frontierland route. For a Main Street spot, you have to be there very early for a "sitting" spot along the curb, but you can find a standing spot closer to time, based on my experience.

Still pretty crowded, historically. We have done about 30 MVMCPs since 2000. We always selected the 2nd one. Still elbow-to-elbow with people crawling up your back. Just fewer layers of it.
