I can't believe we are almost there!! In some ways I'm super excited, but in other ways I have enjoyed the planning so much that I don't want that part to end....guess I can always book another trip... oh wait I do have another trip less than 2 weeks after the first... well a trip after that one for Feb/Jan is going to be a must!!!!

I have done all of the planning for the trip including our touring plans (thanks to TGM on that one). I feel confident in our plans, but I do have a lot planned for us so I hope all goes well and we have good weather while we are there.

I have been busy picking up a few more extras for my mom and sister's purse suprise...so busy I need bigger purses I got some great deals on disney shopping the past week (my sister now has eeyore flip-flops and a matching towel and I got my mom a Mickey polo shirt). Ugggg I went through everything I have been stashing for the past few months and I can't believe how much I have accumulated. I have been surfing E-bay thinking about new bags. I found these two lots that are going for $3.99 and $2.99 for 4 bags...not a bad deal and they go with the AKL theme!!

Now all I have to do is order/pick-up a few more things for the trip. Which I better get going on soon or I will never find them here in MN (like sunblock).


Is anyone else going crazy buying stuff too? Here are some dancers for everyone because I know a lot of us are getting close to our vacations.

Hey Lisa............. I know, I've got about 5 bags from the Disney Store in my closet!!!! LOL I just got DS some Disney Dollars yesterday!!!! OMG ~~ I love the 2nd purse pic!!!! Those are toooooo cute!!!! Not too crazy about the ones with the fur, but the other ones ~~ Love Em!!!! So, UMMMMMM Yeah, you need to go ahead and book for Jan. / Feb. did ya see my new ticker???? huh, huh????? LOL OH, did I tell you I found DS a PIRATES autograph book??? OMG it is awesome!!!! Yep, another Ebay find, the listing said it's ONLY avail. at DL, and you CANNOT get it at WDW!!!!! I'm so glad I found it!!!! OH, another thing I got since it's going to be so hot, I read here on the boards about something called Body Glide, I found that on Ebay too, so I grabbed it!!! It's suppose to work wonders.......... I hope so!!! I want to see my ticker!!!! It's gone again................

I guess I'm just going to have to entice the Tag Fairy with some Zebra Domes or something..............

OK ~~ You guys have convinced me to try out this Special K thing!!! I'm going to start first thing tomorrow!

....I'm PLUMB outta Special K......gotta go to Walmart to pick up another box...I mix the Vanilla Almond AND Strawberry TOGETHER...YUMMY!! Guys, don't forget: drink PLENTY of water..... ...I also have been doing 10 crunches (lie FLAT on your back with arms to your side, lift your legs SLOWLY (to a count of '10')and bring them down slowly (to another count of '10') - that is ONE 'crunch', every morning and evening....

Ohhh thanks for the excersie idea. I was just telling myself today that I need to start doing sit-ups or something. I'm so out of shape it is terrible. I like the idea of mixing the two cereals together...might have to go get some of the berry flavor.

I decided I can't book for Jan/Feb until AP rates are released(I would like a deluxe, but I can't afford it w/o a discount). I'm thinking somewhere between January 25-February 10. But, I have of course been buying up stuff for the pirate/princess party. At wal-mart they have $0.94 skull and cross bone bandanna's they come in blue, pink, and red!!! I also figure I can pick up some stuff after Halloween too. The pirate autograph book sounds so cool.

Ok the body glide is just too funny because I picked some up yesterday at REI. It really does work wonders I got it for my trip last fall and it worked so well!!! I have reccomended it to so many people. The other thing I got from the dis here that worked great was Certain Dri deooderant. You use it at night and then in the am you put on your regular deoderant/anti-persperiant.

Good luck with the Sepcial K diet. We can all cheer each other on

You should be getting a booklet/pamphlet thingie in the mail, which has a listing of all the concierge lounge 'offerings' throughout the day, a card to make ADR's, and other info about AKL....

ohhh I'm excited to see what the book looks like! REI is an outdoors store here that does camping, biking, etc. I went to the BodyGlide Website and did a search for who carried it.

I read that post about the P&P parties too. Yikes I hope it isn't true. Hopefully, they haven't released all of the tickets yet for sale. I can't imagine the early Feb parties selling out becaue it is always so dead in WDW at the end of Jan beginning of Feb. Well I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that someone had thier wires crossed and the sell-out is not true!!!

I'm so glad to hear that your son-in-law is home safe and sound. My son call me on Aug. 1 (his 22nd birthday). His unit is packing up equipment to return to Germany. John should be leaving Iraq for Germany on Sept. 6. He has been in Iraq since Oct. 15. If all goes well, he should be out of the army and home for Thanksgiving.

First, I love the bags! They are a perfect fit for the AKL. And yes, we have turned into shopping maniacs ! It seems like every other day a package arrives from Disney online, we are going broke saving money on goodies for our January trip....not to AKL this time, to the Poly so that "the girls" can enjoy their Hawaiian vacation.

I know how you feel Johnsmom. DH is in the air force and right now hes over there as well. But he will be home at the end of next month / beginning of Oct. He's been over there since May of this yr. Luckly AF deployments are no more then 6 months. This is our 1st deployment and surprising as it is, I got through ok thanks to the DISers! But one thing I dont mind about the deployment is we are gonna be able to stay at the AKL next yr! If it hadnt been for this deployment we would be resorted staying at a value which I am not to fond of. Planning this trip for our 1st stay at the AKL and doing the dining plan for the 1st time has gotten me super pshyched! DH asked me the other day online if I was more excited about him coming home or our disney trip next August and all I could say was ummmmmmmm

I did it! I just officially paid our trip in full - whew, that was a tough one but now I'm so happy because there's no turning back now!!

I am so happy I decided to book us at AKL (thanks to this thread). At first we were going to stay at ASMo which was MUCH more in the budget. When I went online to make the reservations, it was booked. So I gave it some thought and decided to book CSR instead, which I did. Then when they extended the free dining sign-up dates there become availablity again at ASMo so I switched the resie back to ASMo, our first choice (on my budget). But after reading this thread (in its entirety) I decided to take a leap of (financial) faith and book a standard room at AKL. And over time I have not regretted the decision one bit (except that my entire 2-week paycheck just went to pay off our package ) - I can't wait!


My DD8 still thinks we're staying at ASMo, which was fine to her. Until last night. I sat her down to watch Great Hotels: AKL with me and she was so fascinated by it that she actually got teary eyed when I told her we just can't afford to stay there, but ASMo will still be fun. She said, "If we stayed there I would NEVER want to leave!" You got that right sweetie! I did tell her we would go check out the AKL when we first arrive in Orlando before heading over to MGM, and that we had ADR's to each breakfast at Boma one morning.

Throughout this whole trip planning process she hasn't shown much excitement. I think she thinks she's a little too old for Disney because she knows the characters are just people dressed up in costumes. We went when she was 3 and she had a blast and still remembers bits & pieces, but not the whole "impact" of Disney. I'll admit I've been a little bummed that she hasn't shown excitement for this trip but last night I finally saw some glimmer in her eyes. After watching Great Hotels she went into her room and made a countdown chart to mark off how many days till we leave.

So here's my dilema...do I just spill the beans and tell her we're staying at AKL or wait until we're there? I'd like to wait but this is torture!!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention....

We were supposed to stay at ASMo as I explained earlier. Now I've learned the main pool at ASMo is being refurbished for a few MONTHS and will be closed while we're there. I'm SO glad I didn't get stuck at a resort without a big pool! That just reconfirms I made the right decision to stay at AKL instead!

I love these bags! Would you mind sharing a link? I have not done alot of shopping yet. I have bought quite a few pins for the boys to trade & matching shirts for us to wear from disney shopping. I also bought like 5 pairs of the flips for myself lol I live in these things in warm weather! Oh I also bought disney luggage awhile back when it was on sale. I can't wait to break it in!

This part is not a problem for me. I hardly drink anything other than water, even my diet soda tastes to sweet at times now I will have to try this excercise, my tummy sure needs it

Ok I have to admit that I could not contain myself any longer, I told my boys the other night. They thought we were staying at Pop & I was planning on surprising them. But it got to me, I just could not hold this in any longer. I had to share this wonderful place with them! At 1st they did not believe me(I surprised them with a trip last June. They did not know we were going to Disney till we arrived at the airport. They thought we were just dropping a friend off!) I showed them the reservation & now they believe. I am happy I told them, now I can talk openly about everything we can do & see here
