Mickeygrl - If you are staying at the AKL, there is no charge to use their fitness center.

Westwingkath - There is a partition between the balconies so you can't see your next door neighbors.

You canott see others on the balcony beside you, unless you lean far out(then you might fall ). They have walls that block ,it seemed pretty private to me. I would have no problem sitting on the balcony with my robe.

Does "private" mean that each room has a slice, separated by railing? Or are they blocked off more solidly?

I know that the balconies are under video surveillance for the animals' safety, so not really private (not that I have anything intimate planned!) -- but I was wondering if I would feel comfortable stepping out, say, in my robe in the morning, or will there be someone from the next room visible at my elbow?

Hi wendy, we really lucked out... it was kind of an afterthought and I asked them to book for 4, turns out only my DD13 is old enough, my friends daughter is 12 and they only had 2 spots anyway so we grabbed them

My friend and her DD will chill at the hotel or go to Downtown Disney until we meet up later.

That's great that you were able to get the spots avail. I'm sure it'll be fantastic!!!! What a fun thing for you and DD!!!!

I'm so glad to hear that your son-in-law is home safe and sound. My son call me on Aug. 1 (his 22nd birthday). His unit is packing up equipment to return to Germany. John should be leaving Iraq for Germany on Sept. 6. He has been in Iraq since Oct. 15. If all goes well, he should be out of the army and home for Thanksgiving.

New here and I just want to say this has alot of info and thanks to everyone for their time spent. AKL is our new favorite Disney home. We just switched our November ressie from BWV to AKL concierge and are very excited.

Angel I am I very happy your son in law made it home safe and sound. My best friends son comes home next month from his second tour of duty. I am on edge with her.

All I have to say about the AKL concierge staff is WOW. I have never stayed concierge and they are very impressive. They called my house and sent me an email about my ressies and requests. I must say we love this place now. Any tips from you vets would be wonderful. TIA.

Jambo!!! Welcome!! You will LOVE AKL!!! My best tip is to take advantage of all that the resort has to offer. Many times people go and stay not knowing half of what they are missing!!! The resort is beautiful, a great place to explore. The offer TONS of great activities, check the activities board near check-in for correct times and day!!!! Enjoy!!

...nope, too busy doin' the "SINGLE-DIGIT DANCE"....

...actually we are going away this weekend to our country cabin in upstate NY...so we need the luggage for THAT...when I get back on Sunday night, I will begin my packing...I have everything I need - new 'undies' and socks, a few new pairs of shorts and tops for my DH and DS's, snacks [for the car], toiletries...it's all just a matter of 'throwing' everything into the suitcases....

AHHHHHHHHHHH 9 days, I don't think I could sit still!!!!! Have fun this weekend!!!!

I can't believe we are almost there!! In some ways I'm super excited, but in other ways I have enjoyed the planning so much that I don't want that part to end....guess I can always book another trip... oh wait I do have another trip less than 2 weeks after the first... well a trip after that one for Feb/Jan is going to be a must!!!!

I have done all of the planning for the trip including our touring plans (thanks to TGM on that one). I feel confident in our plans, but I do have a lot planned for us so I hope all goes well and we have good weather while we are there.

I have been busy picking up a few more extras for my mom and sister's purse suprise...so busy I need bigger purses I got some great deals on disney shopping the past week (my sister now has eeyore flip-flops and a matching towel and I got my mom a Mickey polo shirt). Ugggg I went through everything I have been stashing for the past few months and I can't believe how much I have accumulated. I have been surfing E-bay thinking about new bags. I found these two lots that are going for $3.99 and $2.99 for 4 bags...not a bad deal and they go with the AKL theme!!

Now all I have to do is order/pick-up a few more things for the trip. Which I better get going on soon or I will never find them here in MN (like sunblock).


Is anyone else going crazy buying stuff too? Here are some dancers for everyone because I know a lot of us are getting close to our vacations.

to the thread. I'm sure some of the concierge experts would have some tips for you. Are you doing any of the concierge safaris? Also don't forget to check out the activity board when you arrive(to the left of the front desk if you are facing the desk).

These are the same ones I bought! I think they taste like rice crispy treats I bought the special k with berries, I do like this cereal but it will get boring after awhile. Good luck with it!

....I'm PLUMB outta Special K......gotta go to Walmart to pick up another box...I mix the Vanilla Almond AND Strawberry TOGETHER...YUMMY!! Guys, don't forget: drink PLENTY of water..... ...I also have been doing 10 crunches (lie FLAT on your back with arms to your side, lift your legs SLOWLY (to a count of '10')and bring them down slowly (to another count of '10') - that is ONE 'crunch', every morning and evening....
