I know there are people who love it but I just don't care for it. We just stayed there 2 days ago. The pool wasn't that great. DS did like the waterslide. The rooms seemed worn. The carpet was filthy. We are supposed to stay there in Nov but I already put us on the waitlist for SSR. Right now we are at Vero. I can offically say I have stayed at all DVC resorts.

Sorry about your experience. We haven't been there for a few years. Hope they get things renovated soon. I have heard a number of people saying the same thing about the carpet lately.

Have a great time at VB... you have a few others there also. :beach:

I am also in the minority and do not like BWV and would not stay there again. I did not appreciate the attitude from cm and we had the worse customer service ever! We are very easy to please and never make any request prior to check-in, so we are really easy to please. We had to use more points to get a preferred view unit and we did not receive on, we went back to the desk after check-in, but they would not change us. I later contacted ms after our vacation and they did refund our points. We have been dvc members since 1994 and have also stayed at BCV and enjoyed the experience. The whole experience at BWV gave us a bad taste and so we won't risk it. Too bad because we love the epcot area, but BWV won't be an option for us ever again...

Too bad about your recent BWV experience. We've never had a bad room or a bad CM at BWV.

Staying in a BW view room at BWV is one of our special treats!

Hopefully new carpet and some spiffing up will come to BWV soon. We noticed how bad the hall carpets looked the last time we stayed there. I heard BWI (the hotel side) is being refurbished.

I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience. I really like the different atmosphere at each of the pools at BWV, although I've never used the slide. We've always enjoyed our BWV stays. It's good that there are different DVC's to choose from.

I know there is a big difference in the rooms of BWV vs SSR. We own at both, love BWV for the location, but the rooms don't even come close to the luxury of SSR. Hopefully they will get re-done soon, and maybe you could try it again at that time.:) Sorry about the bad experience!:confused3

Sorry, too, about your bad experience. We've owned at BWV since 2000 and have stayed there just about every year, sometimes more than once. The only problem I've ever experienced was a carpet freshly washed, and not completely dry upon entering the room. It was dry by the time we got back from dinner though.

Rooms were always very clean, and fresh smelling. BW remains our favorite place to be - can't wait for my trip in October.

Im already on the fence about our BWV stay in Sept!

You trying to push me off?:scared1: :goodvibes

I normally don't let these posts get to me, but BWV is my least favorite home and normally I dont book it, because it has some pretty big negatives for us. I was able to get Standard View 1 bed (16 pts! a night) after our cruise, so Im trying to stay positive:laughing:

Any time I book strictly to conserve points, I regret it. That's why I splurge all the time!:rotfl:

Have a great time at Vero. I think BWV is prettier on the outside.

Curious...what are the "pretty big negatives"?

I really enjoyed the location of the Boardwalk and thought the theming was fantastic. The pool was ok - but the actual Boardwalk itself was a blast in the evening.

Our room seemed fine when we stayed (Oct 2006), but I am sure they get worn no matter where you stay.

It was not my favorite, but I really liked it. We are hoping to stay at either the Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge next, we have 3 under our belt (OKW, SSR, BWV). Eventually we will stay at them all!

Sorry you had a bad experience at BWV's. We enjoy this resort. We love to people watch on the Boardwalk at night and also enjoy the entertainment. We have not had a problem with the rooms yet, but have noticed the carpet needs replacing. The cast members have been wonderful there, much friendlier than at AKV, for us anyway. That's why DVC is so wonderful, there is a place available for everyone to enjoy!!

As with any resort, some people will like it and some won't. It's OK not to like it, there are other choices. BWV seems to be one that people either like or don't. It does seem a little quirky, esp where the pool is concerned.

We just returned from five days there. The rooms were clean, the staff was appropriately cordial. The hall carpets do need to be replaced, but they are for walking on...we were in rooms 4007 and 4009, BW view, close to the end of the hall. No complaints here.

We stayed there last Aug. for 3 nights preferred view and it was nice but we missed SSR. I would be fine to never stay there again. It is not my fave. I loved our BCV stay this past week. Loved it.

BWV is also our least favorite resort. Parking is too far away. Corridors are very long. Place is just too busy for us.

But that's what is nice about DVC, there is bound to be a resort that you can call your favorite - OKW is ours with VWL a close second.

We've enjoyed our 2 stays at BWV very much, but this summer we booked ourselves at BCV & my inlaws at BWV & they got a studio that was waaaayyy waaayyyy waaaayyy down the hall & I couldn't believe how long the walk was. They insisted that it didn't bother them & joked around about it a couple of times. I finally understood what people on the dis were talking about!
As far as the pool goes, I think it's nice even though I think clowns are creepy:scared: . I think it'd be an awesome pool if they renovated it to have the zero entry. My kids love the pool slide & they really enjoyed having the playground right there.
Still one of my favorites!

I love each DVC resort for different reasons. And even though I love them all, each has a weakness or two as well.

FOR BWV, I love it for the location (proximity to two parks) and the BW itself. I found the rooms to be clean, but worn. Definitely time for some updating. And the lack of CS was a problem for us. Kids loved the pool and we were able to find pool chairs every day. Staff was excellent.

Where was your room located and what view did you reserve?
