Marcy, I hear my granddaughters and your daughter have been getting to know each other by email. Seems like there are many girls in that age group here. As of now my GD that will be 12 in Oct plans to go to the tween club, but the other two girls will be with the younger group.

I'm on facebook, but I don't know how to find this group on FB. I tried to search, but came up with nothing.

We just signed up for the 8/10 cruise. This will be our 4 Disney Cruise out of 6 cruises. First trip on the Dream. Will be my DW and 2 DD (both 12), we are from NC. If anyone has a daughter that would like to pen-pal (email chat etc) with my very social butterfly type daughter let me know. We did this before we sailed the med last year and I think the girls still email each other. I have one social and one very shy. Will be celebrating my 5(x) birthday on the 11th. Looking forward to a meet if there is one in the works

My only girl is 21 years old, however, I do have a rather shy 12 year old boy. He is very sweet. He would probably get along well with your shy one. I'm sure they will meet at the Edge.

Has anyone ever shipped a package (FEs for example) to the ship ahead of time? I've read a lot of blogs where people send their goodies on ahead but can't seem to find a how-to.

Hi, all! We are a group of 9 from NC (Rocky Mount) on this cruise. There will be my DD 10 and four of her friends - 2 boys 10, 1 girl 10, and 1 girl 13 (and 2 sets of parents of course). I am sure they'd be eager to meet some new friends on the cruise.

If you'll PM me with e-mail addresses, I'll pass them on to the kiddos so that they can be penpals prior to the trip.

Hopefully I can get them to go to the clubs this time. They loved them when they were younger, but when they got to the tween age, they refuse to go. On our cruise, last year, they went once and came back early because there were mostly boys there and they hogged all the video games and computers. This spring we cruised on NCL and their tween club was pretty weak. Every time they went up for an activity it had either been cancelled or moved. So after a while they just stopped going. I want them to go and be social so that's why I'm getting them to email and skype with other girls going on the cruise, so that they will know some girls before hand.

Gail (and anyone else looking for the facebook group). It's called "Disney Dream 8-10-2012." You need to ask permission to join. (I'll grant it, of course). If you can't find it, check your privacy settings to see if you are allowing yourself to have access to closed groups. If you are still having problems, contact the facebook staff to let them know that a closed group your are trying to join is not showing up in your search.

I totally understand where you're coming from, especially about the boys hogging all the games. They have a tendency to do that. I'm sure they will be good friends. They had a good time on NCL, they just didn't like the clubs. They hung out at the pool and made friends there and we went to dinner one night by happenstance with one of their friends and family, so it was all good fun. I have one daughter who I am sure will become a cruise director at some point in ther life She is just really into making friends and hanging out. My other daughter is 180 degrees different. Likes to be part of the group, but hangs back and is seldom a leader of the pack. She's a bit of a tomboy, so I know that they will all have fun.

Hi Everyone.... my family and I will be on this cruise with you all. It was a "last minute" booking. We did a 3 night on the Dream during our kids school vacation in April, and spontaneously decided to cruise again this summer. We already had a stay at Kidani booked using our DVC for our son's 7th birthday in early August, so this cruise fit perfectly with our plans. We have me 39- (no, really! For a few more months, anyway), DH45, the aforementiond DS who will have just turned 7, and our daughter who will turn 9 during our cruise.

This is our 3rd DCL cruise and our 3rd time on the Dream. We did this exact cruise last August and loved the 2 stops at Castaway Cay. I was able to book a cabana on the family beach for the 1st stop. The second stop is DD's birthday and I was really hoping to get one for that day, but they were already sold out when our booking window opened.

We are very excited!

Can someone please remind me that we are FLYING to Florida! Ive been buying little things all year thinking about the FE and WOW do I have alot of stuff. Maybe I should start my Operation Christmas child boxes now! Some children in foreign countries will be getting alot of Disney themed items. lol
