Good Morning TEAM:
I apologize that I haven't been so good about keeping up with everyone here on the thread recently. OK, a month ago at this time I had started the full marathon, met my running partners
Melissa
and
Colleen and we were running through our 1st 3 miles through a dark EPCoT. The journey had begun.
OK, I need to update you all on something. Yesterday was a great day. It was bitterly cold here in Rochester, and all the schools were closed. I was actually planning on working at home on a grant I have due next week. So I had my computer and all my papers. I would stay home with my princess DD9

and our other princess DD6

could spend the whole day at her daycare center (which she loves). DD9

and I had a great day. In the morning she stayed in her jammies reading Calvin and Hobbes and watched some TV while I worked on my grant. At lunchtime I asked her if she wanted to go to the gym with me. Her eyes lit up, and I said that I was going to SWOG and she could come swim with me. We bundled all up to walk the 10 min walk from the parking lot to the gym (it was brutally cold) and hopped in the pool. We had the best time. She got a noodle and a beach ball while I SWOGged. She would toss me the beach ball, and I would throw it back while swogging. She would swim beside me and circles around me while I swogged. We chatted, and she provided me water stops handing me my water bottle from the side of the pool. We had a great day. While walking back to the car she said, "Dad, I was really hoping that Mom would stay home with me on this snow day, but I'm really having a lot of fun with you."
As I recorded my 40 min SWOG into my running log I noticed that just last Wednesday I wrote that I could not exercise because I was too busy at work and DD9

had a meltdown at home. Wow, what a difference a week makes. It was night and day, and we had a great time. I just wanted to make sure I gave you all the good news too instead of just sharing the bad. Thanks again for all your support.
Carrie- I just wanted to congratulate you for getting back to the gym and hopping back on the TM. Good for you for not getting discouraged, and facing everyone at the gym. You have no reason to be embarassed at all. You're a marathoner afterall.
