Humberto Santos.
Well, I haven't seen anyone mention his name. Has anyone had him as a guide recently? I think he spends a lot of his time on DCL. DH and I haven't been overly impressed. We essentially walked up to the desk on the Magic and made an appointment "to buy DVC". We met with Bert and bought 250 pts. on the spot -- the only issue we were considering was number of points -- we could choose between HH, VB and DVC and wanted on-site so we did BCV. We had no choice on use year. We had a number of friends who were members already, so he didn't have to explain anything. When we asked about getting some baseball hats or something as an incentive (our friends had gotten all sorts of freebies), he said to us he had more cruisers that wanted to meet with him than he could possibly schedule, so if we didn't want to buy then and there, there was someone else waiting to see him. The thing is he was soo nice and so polite and not pushy so it was hard to even be upset about him not even caring whether we bought or not.
Fast forward to Thanksgiving 2002 at HH (first DVC trip) -- we picked up the phone and tried to add on 100 HH points but he said they didn't have our use year and we added on at BCV instead. He never mentioned a waitlist or the resale market, but why should he, right?
Besides these two encounters (and a few calls about an unpaid referral fee that was ultimately resolved), we have never heard from him. Never to ask how we liked it, did we want more points, to tell us about getting on a list for HH, to see if we were interested in SSR. Nothing. He sold 350 points with no effort at all whatsoever. All our friends have urged us to change to any of their guides. So far we haven't needed any assistance, so we have no idea how good he would be if we needed something. But, when we are ready to buy more points, we will probably change guides.
