Who was your salesperson?

Hey RoyalCanadian we toured with David Somerau to when we looked at it in 98 while I was still in school. We were given Suzie Farnsworth as I posted earlier as she took over his accounts apparently.

I am really pleased with the relationship that our family has had with Gib McCain. Very helpful in figuring out lots of crazy details, also a very friendly guy. I genuinely like him.

Kim Moore was very low-key and even prided himself on not being as high-pressure and salesman-like as other Guides. DW and I were pretty well set on buying after our presentatoin, but he still took the time to make sure that DVC was right for us. Explaining how it really pays off by staying on-site at least once every 2 years. He was a great guy and we have also added on once with him.

What about Bruce Douglas? He is the best sales person I have ever meet in my entire life. He is very outgoing and has tremendous people skills. He is very low pressure and always calls back on time and even calls when we are on vacation just to welcome us home.I as so suprised that his name was not mentioned yet on this thread. I just wish every sales person was as good as Bruce. He gets two big thumbs up from me.::yes::

Our guide is Patti Douglas and I know she married another DVC guide; could they be husband and wife? We liked Patti a lot and I have not seen her name mentioned other than when I mentioned her earlier on.

Anyone know how many guides there really are?

We also have Patti Douglas. Really friendly and knowledgeable. We've done three add-ons with her.

Nick Tamberrino - we've added on twice since our original contract. Our first tour with Nick was great - we had our two children with us, and he really made them both feel part of the group - their opinions and reactions were just as important as our were. Won me over completely! We refer friends to him as often as possible.:sunny:

Larrisa Pendergast

Original contract at VWL in 2000 and add on at BCV 2002.
Very professional, helpful and knowledgable.
Always sends notes about the important stuff ( new resorts, price increases, ;) etc)

My guide is Randy Kruger. He's been great so far! Although I wasn't much of a hard sell! I called thinking I'd buy 150-180 points...he didn't push me towards 180 at all! I'm the one that pushed myself to 180! He seems to be great so far!! He was also the same guide that my father was assigned to in 1992 when he looked into DVC (and did not purchase). Which is why I got Randy, since he was already linked to our address and phone #.

Another vote for Linda Streetman. When we called to get info we thought we understood all the in and outs of DVC because DH's uncle owns and explained it all to us. Linda was very nice, sent out the package and told DH she be waiting to answer all our questions once we had reviewed the package. DH said, "Oh no, I think we're all set, we won't have any questions." Linda laughed knowingly and said, "There's always questions, give me a call." She was very helpful, and I can't wait to contact her again as soon as I talk DH into more points!

Betty Pleasant helped us out back in the Fall of '98. We toured while on vacation at Dixie Landings but we just weren't ready to sign. We had only been married a little more than a year and didn't have any disposable income. It's amazing how broke you feel that first year of marriage, (and then every year thereafter!!!;)

In November, downtown Chicago has a Light Up Michigan Avenue Christmas Parade and Mickey Mouse is usually the MC. DVC sent us an invitation to hear about the program again- only this time it was a private party at the Chicago Drake with goodies to eat and Mickey to meet before the parade. That's where they introduced Magical Beginnings. We couldn't sign fast enough!!

Afterwards we went outside to watch the parade absolutely exhuberant that we'd be able to go 'home' whenever we wanted to!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

I cannot remember the name of my original guide but I requested then demanded another one after my attempts at getting information to add on at VWL when it first was announced. I had to jump through hoops but it worked. As I had been down at HHI I met a wonderful guide there, Eric, who is no longer with DVC and I told MS I wanted him as my guide. The worse thing is my orginal guide lied to MS about trying to call me claiming to have called numerous times. I had to come right out and accuse him of the lies when I told MS I had moved over a year earlier so it was impossible for him to be calling me at my old number. Yes, I felt bad having to say he lied but I was upset about that and the fact that MS made me justify my reason for wanting a new guide AFTER hearing about his lies!! At least when I bought VWL Eric received the commission on 350 points!! He was awesome working with me on the contracts setting everything up for the first possible date once selling began. That is what I call service!!

I have a new guide now but I do miss Eric and his phone calls prior to my trips to make sure everything was set to go or a call while there asking if everything was going well. I have not needed my new one so I don't know how he is but I have seen his name mentioned a few times, Marc Turner.

For those of you who have unresponsive guides, call MS and demand to be switched. I have to admit it helps if you can provide them with another guide's name but this is your chance to find someone who will look out for you with the new policy on points at closed resorts. They need to work for members on this!! Good Luck!!

Our original guide was Jacquie Lane, but when she left, Nick Tamberrino took over. He called a few times to see if we had any interest in add-on's, but never felt pressured by him.

Edwin Rivera for our initial purchase, but we spent a LOT of time talking on the phone with Bruce Douglas beforehand, and we used Bruce for our add-on . . .

Both were great!

We have Marshall Sutton (haven't seen anyone mentioned him yet). We bought while we were at Vero and he has since moved to BWV. We visit him each time we go. Have added on twice since our original purchase. Marshall is great!

My inlaws and some other close friends have Ron Brumbaugh as their guide not sure if anyone has mantioned his mane yet.

Here's another vote for Kim Moore. DH and I just wanted to take the tour and get the info. I was sure that DH wouldn't want to buy in because he can be stingy with big purchases like this sometimes. Plus, he's definitely not the timeshare type. Kim was really patient with us, and we went off on too many conversation tangents, so our presentation took longer than some. He was definitely low pressure and plied us with many cookies! ;) DH and I went back to our room that night, I surfed the web and found this site, and we were able to make an informed decision about our purchase. We went back the next morning, after checking out of our hotel, and signed the papers. Color me stunned but happy! We're anxious to try out our points this year, and I hope we'll hear from or get to see Kim while we're there. I'd like to take a peek at the SSR model.

Nick Tamberrino is ours. Very nice person and very helpful. We just bought in March into SSR. We look forward to meeting him in person when we make our first trip home in October.
