Our first Magical Moment was on our honeymoon in 1998. We were booked on the Big Red Boat for a cruise. Anyone remember what happened? The boat didn't sail, due to a mistake on the part of the company, Premier Cruise Lines (now out of business). After standing in line 2 days trying to get a refund (which we couldn't get immediately, anyway), DH called WDW to try and "salvage" the honeymon. We wanted to stay in the Contemporary, even though it was way out of our price range. DH told the CM what had happened, and asked for the cheapest room at the CR. We had to max out our credit cards, but at that point, decided it would be worth it. Next morning, we drove from the Marriott at the airport (where we were staying because of the cruise problems) to the CR. We were greeted by name when we arrived. All the CMs were sympathetic to what had happened. As we checked in, we got the surprise of our life! We had been upgraded to Concierge Level (14th floor), MK view! There was also a gift basket in our room later in the week. We had always loved Disney, but at that point we became converts for life!
Went back to CR two years later for an anniversary trip...upgraded to the tower again, bay view. Received balloons and a card signed by Cinderella and Prince Charming.
For DS' first trip last September (age 18mos), we booked ASMo, because he LOVES Toy Story. DH told CM when making reservations. We had balloons and an autographed picture from Woody in the room.
That same trip, we went to Chef Mickey's for our first full day. DS was intimidated by the characters, but Minnie took her time with him, and by the end of the breakfast, we were ALL in love with Minnie!

We had a late seating, and at the end, it was just us and one other family there. We had all the characters to ourselves, for about 20 minutes.
Last trip (May), we got lucky and got a last minute PS at Cape May before leaving on our last day. It was a Saturday, and they were packed. A very rude woman was extremely angry and treating the CM (hostess) terribly~Why do we have to wait, blah, blah, blah. Later, DH went up to the CM and apologized to her for the way that woman had treated her. We again had a late seating, and were practically the only ones left in the restaurant. The CM followed DH back to our table, and talked to us for about 30 minutes. Our server came and talked with us, too. Before we left, they gave us all to-go cups with beverages of our choice, and had another CM blow up balloons for DS (they only give balloons for birthdays, apparently). They were the sweetest ladies! We promised to come see them in September!
Last week, DH was making a PS and asked about September rates. The CM was so helpful, and gave us a wonderful rate for PC. After a long conversation with her, DH asked if he could leave a commendation for her, and was transferred to a voice mail, so he could do that. Later in the week, for some reason, we decided we should double check on the code (did we need a pin #, which we didn't have?)...and turns out, the code she used for us was NOT one we were eligible for. DH was so worried that she would get in trouble...he called back and asked for a supervisor, and explained the situation, saying that maybe she had misunderstood what he was asking, and please don't let this get her in trouble! The supervisor did some checking, and promised to call us back today with our rate~she said she would try to match the one given us by the original CM, but she wouldn't know until today. We haven't heard from her yet, but I'm sure we will soon. She was appreciative of DH making sure that a CM didn't get in trouble because of a possible mistake on our part!
In our experience, if you are nice to a CM, they will be nice to you. WDW should be a magical place for EVERYONE, even those who work there!
