Whats the NICEST thing that has happened to you at WDW???

Our first trip to WDW, we made sure that our very first stop was the Pal Mickey shop on Mainstreet. We bought him and were having a blast playing as we stood in line for Buzz. The baby fell asleep, but he and hubby rode in the car behind my 3 year old and I as we blasted away Zurg's minions. When we got outside, we realized that all that was left on hubby's belt was the clip that held Mickey :guilty: A wonderful CM saw our distress, went back inside to check and see if he had been turned in, and then took us to Startraders and got us a new Pal Mickey for free!!! I was totally amazed and blown away. I knew then that we would be back many times to a place that we now think of as our home away from home! :earboy2:

We were at AK for the first time in 2003 and we were eating lunch at the Flametree BBQ (myself, DH and DS-4) and my son noticed a young couple who had a huge stuffed dinosaur. He said hi to them and commented to me how he thought the dinosaur was the "hugest in the world". The nice couple said they were on their honeymoon and had won it at one of the carnival games. We started chatting about how we had also been to DW on our honeymoon 10 years earlier and blah blah. Then we went back to eating. A few minutes later they finished eating and as they were leaving, they gave the dinosaur to our son stating that they did not have any room for it in their luggage and thought he may like it. Needless to say he was thrilled. Luckily we drove to DW for this trip so we did have room. The dinosaur is still proudly displayed in my son's room and it brings a smile to me every time I see. :flower: Lynda

One of my “nicest” memories involves the Kilimanjaro Safaris. My DS 5 was wearing his GOH badge while we were in line. One of the CMs saw him and called him by name as we passed.

After we got loaded and as the truck drove off, our driver started in with the usual introductory speech. At the end, she said that she wanted to welcome a special passenger on board that day. I was expecting someone who was celebrating their honeymoon or a birthday, but instead she called out my son’s name.

Then, through the whole safari, she kept saying things like, “Grant, do you think we should go over here?” and “Grant, did you see that elephant?” It was great.

We sat in the back, so I know that the driver never saw my son’s GOH badge. The CM on the platform took the extra effort to tell the driver my son’s name. It made for a special and memorable safari (our favorite ride), and my DS was very excited about hearing his name throughout the trip.

These are the stories that make WDW such a magical place and why we continue to return year after year. We have had several very memorable:

DH lost hat on Splash Mountain and CM found out while we shopped for a new one. When we checked out the CM said there was not charge.

The best was when they had the AP lounge in Epcot. We were the only ones there with the kids. Chip and Dale arrived and spent several minutes playing around and getting pics with the kids. Chip then pushed our 5 yr old DS on the couch and sat on him. This lead to a pillow fight with Chip and Dale and the kids. They ran to the other room, we followed and found all of them laying on the floor watching TV. Before we knew it Pluto, and goofy arrived looking for Chip and Dale. The kids spent 2 to 3 minutes with the group of them before they left. All of this happened with only us in the area. This was our most memorable experianc.

Aside from being asked to be in the parade at Animal Kingdom, another CM there gave us some special treatment. We were wandering around searching for the entrance to see "It's Tough to be a Bug"... A very nice CM stopped us and asked if she could help us, so we asked her for directions. She told us to follow her, but told us not to mention it (LOL) because she should really send us around a different way. She led us through this garden, full of animals, including a VERY OLD Turtle. She talked to us and the kids.. was full of info, then cut us into the line for the show.

Surely there will be flames that we didn't have to stand in line, but we though it was very nice of her!

We have had so many nice things happen to us at Disney! It is great to hear other people’s stories!
A few years ago on a trip with one of my best friends, we were only 18 at the time, we were getting on the Haunted Mansion doom buggies and his little Mickey neck holder (those ones people can buy at the water parks) flew off as the bar came down and rolled off to the side. As we could not stop and get it, he was so worried the entire ride. It contained all his money, room key, credit card, and even his medication. He was so upset until we stepped off the ride and a CM was standing there waiting for us. She said “I believe you dropped this sir” and smiled. It was so nice of them to not only go and find it but to be waiting for us as we exited. It really made our trip! :earboy2:
Just one of many wonderful memories! :flower1:

On Friday evening Dec. 24, my cousin and I got VIP fastpass to ride any ride we wanted at MGM. My cousin had paid for her ticket, but the ticket machine ran out of tickets and needed to be reloaded with a new roll. It was about 10 min. before my cousin was issued her ticket and the CM said that because we both were very patient in waiting she was going to write out this fastpass for us. Then she recommended to us the rides that had the longest lines so we could make the best choice. We chose Rock 'N Rollercoaster.

This wasn't at disney, but it was about 10 minutes ago. I was outside shoveling the driveway and a comcast truck pulled up with a bulldozer behind it. They thanked be for being a member of Comcast and plowed my driveway for free!...oh and 30 hours till i am in DISNEY!

A total stranger jumped our car when it wouldn't start in the EPCOT parking lot. I was 8 mo pregnant with 2 little kids and my MIL so the waiting for security was extra painful.

My 4 year old was having a hard hard day at MGM (being too short to go on a few rides she wanted to) and was admiring the Cinderella pin on a CM's lanyard and the CM gave it to her.

We have had many wonderful things happen to us on our trips. One just happened today. DD (6) and I were going to the moving ramp when you exit Transit Authority ride. Her hair wrap go caught in the rail and yerked her neck and pulled her hair. She started to walk backward so that her hair would stop pulling. She is yelling for me. I am yelling for them to stop the moving walkway. I had to push past some individuals to try and get to her. A wonderful lady got the braid loose. DD is crying. I wasn't sure if she was hurt or just scared.

I walked her down to guest relations to let them know what happened. DD was still crying a little and complaining that her head and neck hurt. The CM was woonderful. He walked us to the first aid building and talked in a soothing manner to DD. I shared with him that it had been a tough couple of days. Two days ago, someone stole her Pal Mickey at Animal Kingdom, her first hait wrap slipped off at night (after less than a week) and now her hair got stuck and pulled her head.

While the nurse was looking at her, he gave me a coupon to get her a new Pal Mickey. We gave it to DD (while she was sleeping) and told her Mickey said he hoped she was feeling better.

Unfortunately, we had to leave the park early and now seven hours later, she said her neck is still hurting and had a hard time falling to sleep.

DH got a free beer at R & C because the girl was new and didn't know how to work the cash register. It made his day.:teeth:

After dinner, we mistakenly threw the straw of my daughter's sip cup into the trash bin. This cup was irreplaceable so my wife and I franticly searched the waste bin. It was pretty disgusting. A few minutes later a CM came by and asked what the problem was, then a couple of minutes later another CM with a flashlight joins in the search but to no avail. The CM ask my wife to follow him and few minutes later she returns with a new cup for my daughter free of charge.

I got married in Feb. '04. After we got checked in, a bell boy (don't know what the PC term is) began walking us and our luggage to our room. We made small talk and mentioned we were on our honeymoon. He was so sweet about it. The next day when we got back from the parks there was a note under our door and a coupon for a free champagne toast at the restaurant! The next day we came back from the park to nap for a few :rolleyes1 and there was a knock at our door saying "front desk." When I opened the door a girl was standing there with balloons attacked to a card "from" Minnie and Mickey congratulating us on our marriage. That card is now sitting proudly on top of our entertainment center.

Another awesome thing happened to us while we were at Epcot (same trip). We had made ps at the Coral Reef. We casually mentioned to our waitress it was our honeymoon. During the course of our meal EVERY SINGLE waiter and waitress made their way to our table to congratulate us. At the end of our meal I noticed they hadn't asked us if we wanted dessert which I thought was odd, but we didn't mind because we'd planned on "desserting" in France. Anyway, the MANAGER came out with this HUGE dessert FULL of chocolate goodies. He stood and talked to us forever. Just casually chatting. I left that place wanting to cry at how nice they were to us.

Another one. We went and ate at the California Grill. We also mentioned we were on our honeymoon. When we got our dessert our waitress did the coolest thing. She said "When you guys told me it was your honeymoon I went and put in an order for a dessert you have to order first thing. Since you ordered something else it might not hurt to ask your front desk for a fridge to put this one in." And didn't charge us! This gal was SO sweet and friendly to us I hunted down a manager to tell her how awesome our food and service was.

Ok I'm done now.:cutie:

By the way, here is a link to the Coral Reef dessert:http://home.highertech.net/~sdunn/HoneyMoon/HoneyMoon3.htm

On our trip to WDW in October, 2003, Joe and I were celebrating our 13th anniversary. When we checked in at the Boardwalk, the young lady at the front desk was looking at our room assignment when she loudly proclaimed, “Oh! They gave you guys a room with a king bed.” To which she chuckled and then said, “I know you two don’t want THAT. Let me see what I can do.” Both Joe and I were amused, not offended at all. We were used to that.

I leaned in and quietly said, “We’d actually prefer to have that king bed.” And quieter still, “We’re celebrating our 13th anniversary.” And then Joe and I gave her big grins (Joe was actually trying not to snicker.) She stumbled, turned bright red, fluttered her hands, did everything and said everything she could to apologize. Rest assured, Joe and I simply laughed and kept assuring her it was ok, no hard feelings, no offense taken. She immediately grabbed onto the fact that it was our anniversary and put us in a different room, one that I assume was an upgrade. We had paid for a standard view room but were given a beautiful corner room on the top floor, one view overlooking a quiet rose filled courtyard, with another view of Epcot in the distance.

The room was incredible and we were so happy. To make matters even better, when we got back to our room after an afternoon at the park, we found a beautiful surprise sitting on the table in the corner. A large white plate with chocolate covered strawberries ringing the edge, and a huge dark chocolate “picture frame” with a white chocolate “painting” of the resort. A note was attached that said, “Compliments of the Boardwalk Cast Members. Happy Anniversary and enjoy your stay.”

I have to tell you that I was pretty verklempt. Although so many people and businesses are enlightened and rather open minded, a same sex couple in a family oriented resort can feel slightly intimidated at times. To be welcomed so warmly, with such a kind gesture towards an anniversary celebration, it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. I was speechless. Joe was too but that’s ‘cause he was busily trying to see how many strawberries he could fit in his mouth.

Once, while we were waiting for a show, it was cancelled, so the characters came out instead. We were waiting up near the stage, but the characters were at the back and it was a free for all. We couldn't get near the characters, but Dale, came to us. He gestured that he wanted us to follow him, but we couldn't get through with my daughters wheelchair. He kept waving us to follow him. He was very nice to the little ones that wanted his attention, patting them on the head, and so on. Finally, he came back to us, brushed me aside, and took my daughter in the wheelchair to meet all his friends. She met Chip, Minnie, and Goofy. It was a very special time. Thank you, Dale.

Rick - that is a wonderful story and it is great you guys are so committed to each other!

We had 2 'little' ones on our one day trip last Sunday. We had gone to Tampa for the Badger game & then DS went to Disney to play a round of golf with one of his friends who is a pro at course by DTD. He took us over to Epcot & got us day passes. So it became a 'see just how much you can do between 12:15 & 9 pm.' DD went on Mission Space (singles line), we did Test Track, she took a photo of every country since none were being repaired, we hopped the boat to MGM & did RnR (her FAV) and Millionaire. Then hopped the bus to TTC & monorail to MK. Met up with DS for a bite to eat & got FP's for Buzz. DD wanted SO badly to see Stitch. I can guarantee you the time posted in the queue line is probably grossly understated. However, one gentleman came by and asked 'Anyone have 2 in their party?' I was not paying attention & she had to yank my arm. We got his FP's and ran to the FP line. I can guarantee you that we never would have made it in thru the regular line before we were to meet up with DS again. We then did Buzz with DS & made it to the Rose Garden to watch Wishes at 9 pm. The free tickets & the gratis FP's made it a really special day.

Thought of another one. Once, we met Cinderella in her castle. Talked to her, and she asked DD about the pin she was wearing. DD had gotten it from a character breakfast we had gone to. That afternoon, we were watching the parade, when Cinderella, on her float, asked DD where her pin was. We explained that the pin was on the sweater she had taken off, and the float moved on. We thought that it was remarkable that Cinderella would remember that.

:BUMP:

These stories are so wonderful ... :sad2: Teary-eyed the whole way through. Hope to add some of our own stories soon!
