What have you done that you swear no one else has done at Disney!

We were the only family in the screening room at Test Track three times in a row. This was 2 weeks after 9/11 :(. It was a bittersweet trip, so many amazing things happened, but it was sad because you knew the reason why.

Madi100,
Yep, I can join "the club" :rotfl2: !!!
Only it happened to me in Busch Gardens Williamsburg, VA. I can add some caviats to the whole fiasco: 1) white shorts 2)a 4 hour ride home with my mother and "the talk"

I had on the white shorts, but mine had pink spots all over them - they were supposed to be there :) Gotta love the mom talk.

My best friend and I ran to Mickey!!

I'm sure others have done this, but were they two 16 year-old girls?? The one picture we ordered from the PhotoPass system was one we didn't know they were taking. Right after we ran to him, we both hugged him. The CM took a pic of that and it's too cute! I would post it on here, but I don't have the time to upload it from my computer.

I'm sure other people have seen this, but I didn't know about it till my last trip with my best friend. We were doing the Extra Magic Hours at Epcot at night, and Illuminations had ended. It was about 10 PM when we were walking towards the WS and all of a sudden, BOOM! We saw this HUGE fireball just blow up in the middle of the lagoon thingy. It scared the crap out of us! We thought something had actually gone wrong! The next day we asked a CM about it, and she told us that it was just a release of extra gas from Illluminations. They do it every night.

I've had Goofy tell me happy b-day as well as the entire elevator on TOT wish me a happy b-day.

On the last day of our last trip, we went to MGM. We saw all of these tall guys in suits and women in nice clothes getting on the exit of RNR with camera men standing at the place where the ride 'takes off.' It turns out that it was NFL weekend, and those were famous NFL players, including one of the Mannings (That was the only one we recognized).

I could go on forever about all of the experiences I've had, but I won't bore you any further!

I love all of the other ones on here!

I wasn't the only one since I was in a group... but my senior AP Environmental Science class was the last group to tour Discovery Island before it closed in 1999. I thought it was really neat. I wonder what goes on there now.

Also, as part of the class we took water and soil samples from all the 4 parks to test the quality :teeth: I doubt anyone has done this... unless they were paid to do it of course :p

We were also at Disney 2 weeks after 9/11. I remember the hotel (CBR) being eerily empty. No one was walking around, no kids were running + laughing, no one was smiling.

So many people had cancelled their flight reservations (and corresponding Disney vacations) that the front desk told us we could pretty much have any room we wanted.

The mood was so somber. And I remember staying awake all night wondering if Disney would be attacked by terrorists. It was one of my least favorite trips.

I posted up above about how we've been to Disney and not gone into any parks. I do have some other "you swear no one else has done at Disney" stories though ~

1) We were the 7th + 8th people admitted to Blizzard Beach on opening day.
2) We were amongst the first 100 guests at the grand opening of Animal Kingdom Lodge.
3) We were amongst the first 100 guests at the grand opening of Wilderness Lodge.
4) We were amongst the first 100 guests at the grand opening of Boardwalk.
5) We were amongst the first 1000 guests at the grand opening of the MGM theme park.

One thing that I've always wanted to do, but never have?

Ride in the front monorail car :goodvibes

Awesome ~ what a wonderful memory!

When I was about 9 or 10, my family stopped by Magic Kingdom for the day, on the way back to Ohio from the Daytona 500. We were there less than 3 hours!!!!! :confused3

I was sooooo upset. All we did was ride 20,000 leagues, watch the parade, and then eat, and Dad decided it was time to hit the road. WHAT???? :sad2:

I think this is why, all my trips have to be at least 8 days, and nothing but Disney!!! :teeth:

By the way- Does anyone know what year Columbia Harbour House opened?, or at least that bldg. I'm thinking that is where we ate.

Oh i thought of another one.. When i was a senior in HS (1988) I got to travel to FL with my Aunt, Uncle and their kids as the babysitter -- they went every other year to the Daytona 500 and me as the babysitter- we went to the MK for 1 full day and to Seaworld and while there my littlest cousin age 4 got a mild case of chicken pox :scared1: she wore long sleeves most of that trip and i hadn't had them yet and you guessed it I had to miss another week of school with a BIG case of the chicken pox !!! Michelle

when i was younger about 9 or 10 I was shoved up into a tree at the world showcase by an old japanese woman, the bad thing was I couldnt see the fireworks as well after that.

On the same trip the parade was coming and I couldnt see and a college guy put my up on his shoulders so I could see.

And i'm pretty sure no one else has done this but I once puked and before I was even done the CM were there trying to clean it up and send me to first aid.

On a chilly January day, Dh and I had the restaurant next to PoC completely to ourselves, so we had a very quiet and long lunch next to the cozy fireplace while we watched in awe as our newly adopted 2 year old son slept in his stroller! It's one of my favorite memories.

When I checked into the Poly, the CM there acted like I was the first person on the planet to ever check in....she was a little slow... :rolleyes1

We found free fastpasses that someone left at the fastpass thing, and they were expired in 10 minutes so we got to go right on RNRC. And my FP got stuck on one machine at Stich, so i got a pass good for up to 3 people :)

:cool1: Big Thunder Mountain is my favorite ride and I rode in more than 10 times in a row in Sept. 2001. My husband and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary at WDW Sept 8-22, 2001. On 9/18 my husband wanted to stay in so I went to the Magic Kingdom for EE night. I headed for BTM and rode it for 16 straight rides without having to get off. I only got off because I thought maybe I should do something else so I headed across the park to Space Mountain. I rode that 3 times but they made you get off each time and you had to walk all the way around and back through in order to ride it again. After the third time I said "Forget about this!!" and headed back over to BigThunder Mountain where I got to ride it another 12 times without having to get off before they closed. WOW, I got to ride my favorite ride for 28 times in one evening. Talk about a once in a lifetime dream come true!! :rotfl2: :cheer2: :earsboy:

:rotfl2: My family and I were probably the first to see a foreign family with two girls, a mom, and a dad in an unusual state of dress. They were in front of us on Kali River Rapids in the Animal Kingdom. Once we were almost to the ride, the two girls told their parents something which we couldn't understand and then they started to take off their shirts! The girls each looked to be 10-12 years old. At first, they pulled the shirts over their heads. Then, once we boarded the boat, they both took off their shirts all together!!! Both were in need of proper undergarments. They were in the same boat as us and straight across from our seats. The cast members didn't say anything to them at all!! It made us all very uncomfortable, but still it was good for a laugh. :earseek: :earseek:

one of the coolest things we've ever done is walk from DS to EPCOT to watch Illuminations, then walked back to DS to see the 2nd show of Fantasmic on the same night. It was great, something really special for DH & I. On the same trip, Easter break 2004, we were the only ones on our bus back to our resort at the end of the night leaving MK, park had closed and we were the last ones leaving. The 2 fireworks shows in one night was the best though!
(we have it on tape, too!)

Two years ago, my family and I stayed at Carribean Beach for two weeks. Well we drove there so we had all these magazines in the room from reading in the car and one of them was a Nikelodean magazine. Well one hot, hazy, and very lazy afternoon my dad took a notice to the underwater themed wallpaper decorating the top of the walls. He then took the Nik mag and flipped through it until he found something of interest. He cut out something from the magazine and asked my mom for some tape. He then stood on the top of the bed and taped whatever it was to the underwater wallpaper. When I finally got a glimpse of what my dad was up to I saw that he had taped a picture of Spongebob Squarepants to the underwater wallpaper. The best part is that Spongebob looks like he's really a part of that wallpaper. :earboy2:

Its still there I bet. The mousekeepers never took it down (and Spongebob was put on there around the first week of our stay so he had 7 more days to get taken down.) So if any of you are planning on staying at Carribean Beach, look around for Spongebob Squarepants. :p

Last night after shopping at the gift shop at CSR, my lovely wife decided to go out the front and find a faster way to the room. We are in the Casitas 3 building, which going around the lake is not that far from the lobby. But, she wanted to walk around the front. I knew that there was the convention center between us and our room, but what the heck. Well, we walked for probably 15 - 25 minutes, around the convention center, past the cast member entrance, and finally Casitas 1.
FYI, it is a shorter trip walking the lagoon.

We are headed to Animal Kingdom today!

On the first night of our honeymoon DH and I went to the Boardwalk for dinner. There was a huge storm and it POURED for about three hours straight. When we tried to walk back from the Boardwalk to the Swan... all the rainwater was rushing downhill toward us and we were literally wading in about three inches of water. When we got back to the Swan, our pants were soaked to the hip! It was so bad we stopped to take pictures because we knew no one would believe it rained that much. Needless to say I was very thankful for my cozy Heavenly Bed after that!

When my daughter was in high school she was in a colonial fife and drum corps. She would often talk to the musicians in the corps at Epcot. She loved their costumes, which were much nicer than the ones she got to wear. So she got it into her head to write to Michael Eisner, asking what happened to old costumes.

We got a call from one of his secretaries and arrangements were made for us to visit the huge costuming warehouse on a trip we were making in a couple weeks. It was surreal, to say the least, seeing this place. Every costume from the parks, restaurants, Bob Mackie gowns from TV specials, every bolt of cloth from every costume, every character head hanging from the ceilings, etc, just hanging in rows as far as the eye can see. Then we were told to pick out a bunch of colonial pants and stuff to fit all the kids in DD's group. We sat there with seam rippers, cutting out the Disney property tags, lol. It was an amazing day. It was a good thing we had driven down that time!
