What have you done that you swear no one else has done at Disney!

Gotten escorted by 2 CM's to Cinderellas castle for dinner when the castle was barricaded due to the upcoming fireworks show while crowds watched from behind the barricades and wondered if we were VIP's. :smooth:

On the first night of our honeymoon DH and I went to the Boardwalk for dinner. There was a huge storm and it POURED for about three hours straight. When we tried to walk back from the Boardwalk to the Swan... all the rainwater was rushing downhill toward us and we were literally wading in about three inches of water. When we got back to the Swan, our pants were soaked to the hip! It was so bad we stopped to take pictures because we knew no one would believe it rained that much. Needless to say I was very thankful for my cozy Heavenly Bed after that!

:cold:

I went to the bus stop at my resort and just got on the first bus that came along, without any regard to where it was going. It was so much fun!

Oh, I've got one! When DH and I went on the Keys to the Kingdom tour in October I got to walk up a set of stairs onto a balcony on the facade of Pirates of the Caribbean to show that the 2nd story of the buildings are actually built on a smaller scale! It was sooo neat!!

Thats way cool...I got to crawl on my hands a knees thru Cosmic Rays.

My brother did something I'm sure not many people would have done. He was supposed to be meeting us for lunch at Crystal Palace. The CM at the front desk tried to help him by giving instructions to drive using a path only the buses were supposed to use. He missed the turn to park (I guess the bus drivers would know without a sign) and was, according to him, driving around INSIDE the Magic Kingdom. Amazingly, nobody stopped him! He finally got to lunch about 45 minutes after our reservation, very flustered, but with a interesting tale.

I had Frontierland all to myself one morning. I was at a conference and decided to catch the MK opening before I headed over to the convention center. There were very few people at the opening of MK and while everyone else went to fantasyland or tommorowland, I was the lone soul to head to frontierland. When I got to the bridge, the rope was still up and I had to wait a few minutes for someone to come drop it. I was amazed that when I crossed the bridge not another person was behind me. I went to BTMR and rode 3 times without getting off and then rode SplM twice in a log by myself. Anyway, here's my photographic proof:

What time of year did you go?

Zaja,
It was the first week in February 2003. Other than a few cheerleaders, it was pretty quiet.

We go every year at that time...it really is great for low crowds. shhh...dont' tell anyone though...

I've got one that's Disney related, but not at WDW. I was Juggler Clown on the Dumbo float during the Hercules MSEP in NYC. DH (then DFiance) was a page carrying the Blue Fairy's dress and SIL was one of Cinderella's court dancers. One of the best experiences of my life!

We used the music from MSEP for the entrance into our reception at Atlantic Dance! Everyone laughed -- I was amazed they even got it. But with all three of us in the "wedding party" it was very funny.

Another great one -- John Charles performed our first dance song (as well as one other song) at our wedding. And he didn't charge me anything because it was his day off!!! He's very special to DH's family -- used to be tradition to see him our first night at WDW until they moved him over to Frontierland and they he "moved on". So I stopped by Frontierland to talk to him after a performance and he was MORE than happy to do it. I don't think he does weddings on a regular basis??? GREAT GUY!

Also in NYC, DH and I saw Pocahontas in Central Park. I know thousands did this, but the key here is, we went in with NO tickets and DIDN'T pay a scalper! We started near where the line was going in and simply started asking if anyone had extra tickets. People gave us their extras -- several people gave us their extras! We ended up with more than than two, very quickly, and gave some out to people looking for scalper, then started telling others to do the same thing. I would bet about 100 people got tickets that way just from us telling them. What a fantastic experience!

I've watched the fireworks from the top of the Christmas Shopper in MK, too!

So in 1996 we planned our honeymoon at DW. Everyone in my family tried to talk us out of it. It was the strangest thing they had ever heard of. So I just thought for sure we would be the only people to ever go to Disney World on our honeymoon. :rotfl2: I really was shocked to meet about 100 other couples on their honeymoon.

I'm a HONEYMOONER from 1991!! Our parents and friends thought we were nuts too :rotfl:

It was our first time there for both of us and we fell in love with the Mouse! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

This is really funny as WDW is the number one honeymoon destination in the world. I just learned of this yesterday from the Walt Disney World Trivia book I received in the mail.

To go along with this honeymoon thing and to give my thing that I'm sure others have done but was cool....DW and I were at WDW on our honeymoon and she had arranged a photo session around the MK with one of their photographers which was really cool and we got some great pictures. Anyway, the photographer wanted to get our picture on Dumbo so he took us through the exit and they held up boarding the next group for about 5 minutes while he got he ride and us placed just how he wanted us.....lots of fun and lots of dirty looks as you can imagine from the dumbo line. :wave2:

Long before any tours were given....In the summer of '72 a CM took my family down to the utilidors.

Doing the 10 day dance...

We were at WDW when they first started E-ticket nights. They weren't even advertising them and even most people at that time that were staying at Disney resorts didn't know about them.

We did an E-ticket night at Magic Kingdom and there was hardly anyone there. We must have been touring the opposite of even the small number of people that were there. My son and I did Astro Orbiter first and then headed over to Frontierland. At that time Pirates of the Carribean wasn't part of E-ticket night. We rode Splash Mountain twice without getting off and then rode Thunder Mountain Railroad. My son was pretty young so we decided to head for the exit. It was already about 11pm. We didn't see a single person walking from Splash Mountain to Main Street USA. It was a little spooky. When we got to Main Street USA, there was no one on Main Street USA. It was kind of like a scene from Night Of The Comet. I think most of the E-ticket attendees were teenagers and they were in Tomorrowland riding Space Mountain.

We decided to get an ice cream cone at the place on Main Street and we sat outside and watched the castle while eating our ice cream and were the only people their. We didn't see another person as we walked out of the park.

On our trip in November of 2001 when the crowds were fairly small we walked to the International gateway entrance at EPCOT and we were at the rope drop for opening with just DW, DS then 9 and me with a bus load of characters to ourselves for about 5 minutes until a couple of other families arrived. I think I filled up all the memory on the camera in about 15 minutes but I still have some great pictures.

Well, this has happened to other people, but considering how many people are in the MK every day, the ratio is pretty high. Three years ago my daughter broke her arm 3 days before our trip. Didn't hold her back at all, she rode everything. The special part was Merlin choosing her to pull the sword from the stone. :wizard: She did it ONE-HANDED! Everyone was so great to her, she got a lot of extra attention. When people ask me why we go every year, I tell them that story. Then they understand. :earsboy:

I've seen it like that. We always go to the back of the park first, and when you're there for the rope drop in late September, that's what you get. Great pic! Really brings back memories of having a small part of the park all to yourself!
