"We're booked!!" Post your 2008 room rates here!

Ok, quick question everyone...
Is is worth it for us to join AAA to save on a package?? Would it save us more then the amount for the membership?

TIA

Just got off the phone with my AAA TA confirming my reservation. We're booked 12 nights at the Poly GV!!!!

Booked a package w/ dining, but our room with the AAA discount ended up being $325/night. AAA saved us a total of almost $700!!!!:cool1:

Short answer is yes, you'll save more than the cost of your membership.

In my case, I pay $45 per year and saved $111.24 this morning off my package. AAA is useful to have anyway. I looked at our regular hotel in Gatlinburg and found that thier AAA rate is $18 less than we've paid for years. That will be another $108.00 we'll save next summer. And we're not even talking about the actual road services...

Disney usualy makes discounts avalible but they are relased later and to be honest, I wanted to get my booking over with. Below is a link to the historic discounts and when they were released. For my trip in Jan, I'd have to wait a couple more months to see if there would be a discount code that was greater than the 20%+ I already recieved with AAA.

I'm booked! I'm booked! Woo Hoo. FINALLY! We made our package reservation this afternoon. I was all ready and then the computers went down! Ugh. The nice CM called me back when they were back up and I got everything solidified. Here are the details: We're booked for 7 nights at POR January 3rd-10th. We had to go with riverside because we're a family of 5. I DID get the dining plan. DH and I talked about it and still think it's a good value for the 5 of us. We almost thought about going deluxe. but that would add a whopping $700.00 extra! I don't want to be worried about making that extra $$$$$ up and spending a lot of our time in restaraunts instead of at the parks. I only got 6 day base passes, hoping for a code to come out that will add the park hopper and waterparks for free. This is what has happened the past few years. We'll also be spending a day at downtown Disney and the pool and therefore won't be needing the 7 day passes. My grand total was $3,081. I'm excited!!!! It feels real now. Anyone else going around this time? I wonder what crowds will be like. ANy guesses? The Marathon isn't until the next weekend this year, so I'm hoping for light crowds and good weather. Oh I almost forgot..... when I booked the DDP the CM said you could pick a dessert or appetizer for the TS meal. I thought that was good, because then dh and I can share. Happy vacation planning to all!

I called AAA today and the lady is going to call me back with a quote for a package.

I can't figure out why they had the lagoon concierge available with AAA discount, but not garden concierge. :confused3 LOL The lagoon room is ours, the garden room is DH's aunt's, so I feel a little bad that I wasn't able to get the discount for her. But hopefully some AP rates will come out.

I'd like the answer to that one as well. I booked today, 6/11-20/08 and the AAA discount was not available for GVC--only LVC? :confused3 I have always been able to get AAA on these rooms, at least since the early 90s--what gives? Also, I wanted to book from 6/10-20/08, but could not get the res if I left the 10th. I'm guessing the Polynesian Concierge has become so popular of late, they do not need to offer a discount on the GV side. Still, the cost of that GVC at Polynesian was $570 p/night--plus tax. That was quite a jump from what we paid this year. :confused3

Tess, your rate for Polynesian GVC is $570 per night PLUS tax? We're paying (well our DAunt) $545 per night, plus tax, for a total of $613 per night. It seems that our trip and yours is the same season. I wonder why the $25 difference?

And I still can't believe there's no AAA discount for GVC. I'm going to keep calling back each day, to see if it eventually comes out or not. If I find it, I'll let you know right away.

EDITED TO ADD: I think the $25 difference is due to one of your DChildren being 18 or older, right?? :) (I can't remember whether it's your DD or DS who's older). :)

Gosh I feel like I am getting taken to the cleaners...I just talked to AAA about an hour ago and they said Feb 1-6th at All Stars Music 6 day tickets with no upgrades plus dining would be $1938.00
Now I don't know what to do..Is that the going cost with AAA??

YEAH!! All booked for our trip

We're going January 6-11th, staying at ASMovies (pref room), 5 day park hoppers with dining. Our total came to $1756.26.

We were originally booked w/a family suite for an extra $508, but decided to just save some $$ and go w/the regular room. Figured DS6 would not want to leave and DD2 could just nap in the stroller if she got tired. She's already skipping naps which is why we booked the suite in the first place figuring we'd spend more time at the resort :confused3

I booked the hoppers so what if a code comes out that they are free? Can it just be applied to our ressie? What if the package is already paid in full?? Do they ever credit you back??

Are AAA rates out for Room only ressies for the whole year to December 08?

 Booked my AKL savannah room for April 26 to May 3. The price went from $2717 to $2445 with AAA. Woohoo!!

Did you go with AAA?

Darn kids, they just keep getting older; but we're still paying and they live at home. Our son is 19 (20 by the trip next year) and a college soph. This is our daughter's grad year. Thankfully, she will not be 18 yet or that rate would be ridiculous.

When my husband gets a look at the cost of the room and the fact there are no AAA discounts on GV--he is going to  . Honestly, I kind of feel the same way. We paid $395 this year (although it was value in July--that is no longer the case for July in 2008) and that is one huge jump in cost. While I love my Polynesian Concierge, it is getting to the point of ridiculousness. :headache: It hasn't been that long ago you could almost rent a suite for the price of the 2008 room rates.

Thanks for your offer--if you find them offering a AAA, I'd appreciate the heads up. My thought is that, as in the mid-90s, Disney is trying to do away with discounting concierge level service. I'm surprised they started with GV though.

Just booked 6 nights at POR standard room for May 1-May 7. Price before AAA was $1137. Price with AAA discount was $966. I'll keep that $170!:yay: Nice to share the wealth as I booked a room for my sister's family too! Maybe there will be codes with greater discounts out in later winter. But for now, WE'RE BOOKED!!:dance3:

Here are the quotes I just received from AAA...

Here's what I wanted May 24 -31 (7nights) Poly LVC 2 adults, 3 kids ages 16, 15 and 7, 7 day myw ticket w/hop and WP with dining plan.
