"We're booked!!" Post your 2008 room rates here!

Darn kids, they just keep getting older; but we're still paying and they live at home. Our son is 19 (20 by the trip next year) and a college soph. This is our daughter's grad year. Thankfully, she will not be 18 yet or that rate would be ridiculous.

When my husband gets a look at the cost of the room and the fact there are no AAA discounts on GV--he is going to  . Honestly, I kind of feel the same way. We paid $395 this year (although it was value in July--that is no longer the case for July in 2008) and that is one huge jump in cost. While I love my Polynesian Concierge, it is getting to the point of ridiculousness. :headache: It hasn't been that long ago you could almost rent a suite for the price of the 2008 room rates.

Thanks for your offer--if you find them offering a AAA, I'd appreciate the heads up. My thought is that, as in the mid-90s, Disney is trying to do away with discounting concierge level service. I'm surprised they started with GV though.

Tess, you may want to try a package. I was able to get a discount on both LVC and GVC May 24-May31.:cloud9:

I can finally say it for the first time in my life- IM GOING TO DISNEY:cool1:

Just heard back from Lisa and we are booked for October 11th 2008 to the 19th. Poly LVC, park hoppers and dining plan.:thumbsup2

I cant wait. Look out Disney here I come:banana:

I received a quote today for a king bed room at POFQ May 10-17 for $1257.49 which includes tax and AAA discount. According to the written quote, the non-discounted price would be $1480.00 for a savings of $222.51. If my math is correct, this works out to a savings of 15%.

This quote is on a courtesy hold through a TA and I plan to call tomorrow and put down my deposit.

I am very excited to be going back to WDW next year and to be trying a new resort. We live in Southern California, so we have a week-end trip to Disneyland (staying at the Disneyland Hotel) planned for October to tide me over.

CBR King room, 8 nights, March 29-April 6 (1 Night Peak, 7 Nights Regular):

Original Room-only Ressie based on 2007 rates: $1,890.00
New Room-only ressie based on new rates: $1,732.54
With CAA Discount: $1,485.00

And with our CAN Dollar right now ... :rotfl2:

We just booked our trip today!!!!

We are going in July 2008. We booked a package thru AAA, staying at the Polynesian GV, including 6 day PH tix and DDP. Our cost for 7 nights was $4280. I have no idea how much of that was the room, though.

I am so glad that i decided to stay up tonight and read over some of the notes on the board, if I am reading this right some if not all of the 2008 rates are out and perhaps i should call to check if there is a difference on my trip?
We are going back for the 4th time in April of 08 the 19th-27th.:earsgirl: Im looking at staying at the Port Orleans Riverside and was told it would be about $1600.00for the 8 days. That a room for 5 in it.
We are anual pass holders so my BIg question is when can I be looking for a possible room discount:confused3
I am in hopes to get some kind of deal and Im am willing if it is at all possible to up grade if I can find a good rate. Is the best way to truly know when they are offering a discount rate for pass holders is to call often??:hourglass

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your point of view :) ) we are all passholders and a package won't work for us. I did try room only for a different dates, still no AAA discount. Guess we will wait and see. . . Thanks for the thought though!:thumbsup2

Just a quick question about discounts. AT the moment i have booked a 9 day hopper water parks and more ticket form January 2008. I read that maybe there would be a free upgrade to this pass. Should i change the pass to a base ticket and just wait to see if the discount/special is offered later in the year?>???????

hey Jess
I asked them that when I booked and they said if a special comes out you will need to call and have it put onto your package and they will credit you the difference

If that makes you :scared1: , look at the rates in the non-value season. It appears the July value season (in 2007) was just after Independence Day through September, but now does not begin until July 20 for 2008! Those GV rates will raise your hair!

Discounts usually come out anywhere between 2 and 4 months prior. Just keep your eye here on the boards, people are always posting the rumors beforehand, and then once the actual discounts come out. :)

Congrat's-I voted on your poll for poly. We have stayed at POR, GF, CR and AKL and Poly is a family fav. Although, I would go back to AKL in a heartbeat. We stayed at AKL in June 07 and went to eat at Ohana and walked out to Poly beach and it brought tears to my eyes (mostly because I wasn't staying there) but it is just that special to me. :cloud9:

We just booked with AAA for Feb 1-Feb 7 at Pop at a rate of 65.60 a night :cool1: :cool1: :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :dance3:

We're booked - January 11-16 Poly GV $1650. This is a room only reservation with a AAA discount.

Still can't make up our minds about the July trip - Poly/YC, GF/YC, Poly or GF.

Hooray! Just booked our package thru AAA!

12/7/2008 to 12/13/2008
WL Courtyard View Bunk Bed room
Magic Your Way with Dining (basic plan)
6 day Park Hoppers
2 Adults, 2 Children
$3369.76

I didn't think that sounded too bad... that's about $308 less than the quote I got from Disney, so I'm not complaining!

Had a standard room booked at Wilderness Lodge Jan 2 - 4. Called on 8/5,8/6 and again this morning and could not get the AAA rate. Switched to BWI standard room for $276.25 per night w/AAA. I'd rather be at an Epcot resort anyway and for only $50 a night more I had to change. Hoping that AP rates will come out for an even better rate.
