Darn kids, they just keep getting older; but we're still paying and they live at home. Our son is 19 (20 by the trip next year) and a college soph. This is our daughter's grad year. Thankfully, she will not be 18 yet or that rate would be ridiculous.
When my husband gets a look at the cost of the room and the fact there are no AAA discounts on GV--he is going to. Honestly, I kind of feel the same way. We paid $395 this year (although it was value in July--that is no longer the case for July in 2008) and that is one huge jump in cost. While I love my Polynesian Concierge, it is getting to the point of ridiculousness.
It hasn't been that long ago you could almost rent a suite for the price of the 2008 room rates.
Thanks for your offer--if you find them offering a AAA, I'd appreciate the heads up. My thought is that, as in the mid-90s, Disney is trying to do away with discounting concierge level service. I'm surprised they started with GV though.
Tess, you may want to try a package. I was able to get a discount on both LVC and GVC May 24-May31.
