Stomach bug/food poisoning , anyone?

Just for future reference, the resort itself can't book you in a room at a reduced rate.

I know this from personal experience. For example, this past July my flight was changed (after I checked out of the room) and I realized I wouldn't be able to make the connecting flight, so I booked a flight for the following day. Meanwhile, I needed a room and went to the front desk at POFQ, where I was staying. They couldn't do anything for me. I had to go on the website and book a room myself. Fortunately there were AP-rate rooms still available for that night, so it worked out.

I dont know about that.. not doubting what you are saying, just doubting they cant do anything about it. I wasn't asking for a discounted rate, I was asking for the rate we paid which was $530 per night in a Wing room at the Contemproary. Those rooms are not $900 rooms even on a holiday weekend. I know the person I spoke to said it would be a King instead of 2 doubles(if we took it and moved rooms), and I highly doubt it's 400 more for a kind. It's just silly.. It's called thinking outside the box. These people are trained to work off of scripts, and no one can say hold on let me make a few calls and try to help you out.

My point was that the front desk itself was unable to do anything about it. They were willing to help me book it online, but I needed no help with that.

Here are the rack rates (no discount) at the Contemporary for part of this January. Not sure if these rates include taxes.

I believe your ~$500/night rate was booked using some kind of discount. I'm pretty sure the person you spoke with was quoting you rack rate.

I'm very sorry your kids were sick and also that they had to move resorts.
 
Not really. I just wanted to know if there was a stomach bug or if anyone else experienced food poisoning last week . I didn't know that once my kids turned 18 I wasn't allowed to call them kids anymore , and doing so would set off Disney fans.

Most people don't walk into a room; get defensive and instantly start arguing with people who disagree with them. That kinda fits the description of "coming in like a wrecking ball". 🤷🏻‍♀️

Who was aggressive? I posted and then was met with a few very rude and aggressive responses trying to tell me I was wrong for helping my children. People are angry that I called them kids and not adults . Like who in their right mind would respond and say they're not kids because they are 18 and 21!

Same here, in September we were at BWI club level and wanted to extend 1more nite. The club level cm said they had availability but it would be at rack rates. She asked if I looked at the website for any discounts and I had not. I searched and found a tiny discount and booked it. It took a couple of minutes for it to show up. Once it did for her she called and sat on hold with the room assigner so that we did not have to move rooms . Now I did do this 2 days before we were supposed to to check out.
