From what have read, there are two views - Woods which overlooks MK & a not so nice service area view. I requested woods view but it was not guaranteed.

Why in the world would they build a honeymoon suite overlooking the service area?? LOL Ah well, Im sure you will have a great trip either way!!

Pop Century standard, room-only AAA rate of $65/night for Feb 7-10. The regular rate withour AAA was $82/night.

Garden view conciege $545/night. There was no AAA discount available for this.

Garden view concierge: $3065. for 5 nights.

Seaspray-thanks for posting this info. :thumbsup2 Looks like we will miss each other by one day. I am going to book GVC starting May 24 for 7 nights. In the past I have either done a AAA room only or AP rate through disney. Have you been able to switch to AP rate in the past during May? I am considering doing a package with AAA this time. Have you ever done that? Do you think the dining plan and conceirge is too much? Can you tell me how long after booking does IPO contact you? SOrry for all of the questions..You are the Poly Queen after all!!!Lol

Jan 2-13, 11 nights pop $82/night through disney.

I am from Australia. DOes anyone know of any codes or discounts i can use?

:surfweb: Is there a certain amount of time that you have to be a member of AAA in order to get the discount at WDW?? Like a year, a month, 3 years whatever?? DH and I have talked about joining AAA and it would be great if we could get the AAA room discount upon us joining. We are planning a march or april 08 vacation.....:confused3 Thanks so much!

I got a 20% discount:cool1: :cool1:
We were paying $82.00 per night at POP (two rooms) and with the AAA it went to $65.60:cool1: :cool1:
That saves me $32.80 per night for the two rooms:banana:
$32.80 X 10 nights = $328.00 savings on the rooms:banana:
Value season Jan 11-21

I must say I'm a bit disconcerted - everyone else's increases seem to be quite acceptable. Ours was extraordinary! 2 bedroom villa at WL February 10-16. Old price: 3982.50. New price: 4882.50. That's an increase of 22%. 2007 room rate for the weekend: 590. 2008 rate for the weekend 950.

Obviously we're thinking about changing our reservation. Why did ours get jacked up so much?

:confused3 I can't imagine that they wouldnt be doing much looking out the window on their honeymoon..... Will probably be the last thing on their minds..

Oh bummer that we'll miss each other by one day! LOL Anyway, in the past I've always booked the AAA discount right away (as long as it was available), and then change to AP discount once they come out. And I'm fairly certain that this has applied to at least some of our May trips, too.

We've had APs for the last year, and just bought new APs last week, so we won't be switching to a package, although we could do that and just get a 1-day park ticket and put it away and save it for another time, or give it to our DSs to use since they don't have APs. We plan on purchasing park hoppers for them for this trip.

We have done the Dining Plan and concierge on one trip before, and we personally felt it was a LOT of food. But back then the plan included the appetizer too, so we thought the DDP alone was too much food, let alone the concierge food offerings too. lol However, I wouldn't rule out doing both again on a future trip, if the package suited our needs at the time. :)

In the past I've heard from IPO fairly soon after booking our trip; I just booked today and the trip is still 9 1/2 months away, so I'm curious to see whether they contact us right away or not. If they don't, I'll wait until the fall and then send them an email, to at least establish communication, well before we'll need them to book ADRs and tours for us.

I think you could probably buy your AAA membership and immediately call Disney and give them the number to get the discount on a room. That's all they need, just your membership number. It doesn't matter how long you've been a member for :)

Jan 4 to 7, 2008 :yay:

GF Garden View (hoping for an upgrade :goodvibes )
3 day park hopper passes plus dining plan for 2 adults = $2177.74

I asked for a breakdown but the CM said she couldn't do that because it was a package :confused3

Doesn't matter though, I've been waiting for months to change our room only :woohoo:

Our trip is for April 13-19, 2008. 2 preferred rooms at POP, 2 adults, 1 teenager, 3 under 10. Rate w/out AAA was $1768.56. Rate w/ AAA is 1292.94!!! It's a room only right now, but I'm hoping to change it to a pkg, but only if I can get this room per nt. rate! It works out to $107.75/night per room w/ the disc. and $147.38 w/out disc.

Actually, while making a room only reservation through WDW today, I was not asked for my AAA membership number. I'm assuming I will have to present my membership card when I check in.

If you make a package reservation through AAA, I'm sure you would probably already have to have a membership.

Wilderness Lodge Woods View, June 12-19, $265.50 (AAA rate before tax). Total, including tax, $2,090.83.

When I made my AAA room-only ressie today, the CM asked for my membership number. I find that they are very inconsistent with it.

As far as how long you have to be a member of AAA to get the discount, you could definitely call today to become a member by charging the membership fee over the phone. Then ask for your membership number and call Disney right then! It is so great!
