I got an email from one of my two best friends on Sunday (she lives an hour from me and we never see each other let alone manage phone calls

) but in the email she told me that in the spring her mama was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It was too late to call her that night and then I put it off because i absolutely adore her mother and the thought of Mama Tandy being sick was very upsetting. But I finally screwed up my nerves last night and called her but I kept getting a busy signal so I thought her phone wasn't working so I left a message on her voice mail. So tonight I call again and still get the funky busy signal so I call the cell phone again this time I get through. So i asked about her phone and she said she called herself last night and she was home :teeth:

so I checked the number in my cell phone addy book and realized that I had deleted the last number! doh!

But anyway, we talked for close to two hours tonight (my cell and long distance is free and I have lots of minutes to use!) but I found out that it was extremely fortuitous that her mom went for a physical and the doc spotted something funky and wouldn't stop until he dxed it. She had no symptoms save the blood in her urine and instead of blowing it off (she didn't even know it was there) he kept going until he knew what was wrong. So her prognosis is good and she is doing well right now. But man it sucks to find out people are sick. Guess this is part of why i've been tired for the last couple of days. Em and I are going to try and get together either this weekend or next and meet at the half way point of chesapeake and catch up.

anyway, on that note I'm going to bed. Ihave to be out of the house by 7:15 tomorrow morning for a two day conference (well I get to come home tomorrow evening) so I probably won't be in until tomorrow night after bowling. Have a great day all!!

Hi everyone. I'm back again after another short absense (I hope that an occassional appearance by me is better than no appearance).

Anyways, the past two weeks have been extremely crazy for me. After getting back from my business trip, I saw an ad for a condo in the paper. I went to see it the next day, and put an offer on it the day after that. The past ten days have been filled with calls and visits to the condo, the mortgage folks, the attorneys, and inspectors. I'm very excited about the condo, but the home buying process is truly a horrible experience.

It's a two bedroom condo. 835 square feet. It has a small eat in kitchen, a decent side living room, and two decent size bedrooms. The seller had used it as a rental unit, so he redid a lot before putting it on the market--it has brand new carpets, kitchen cabinets, and toilet and sink in the bathroom. It's in a great location--about a ten minute walk to the commuter train into Boston, and a two minute walk to a bus to a different train into Boston.

I'm signing the purchase and sale agreement this afternoon. And watching my bank account go down (scary). But it's the right thing.

Hello all

I know it has been a while. Seems I have to fight to get to the computer these days. Jessica seems to be hooked on a few sites of her own. She would be on this dang thing 24-7 if I let her. I was able to get on because I pulled the evil Mom thing and have her cleaning her room. Poor thing has school registration today. Finds out if she got the classes she wanted. She will get her school books and the ever dreaded school ID. She is not a happy camper. Summer always goes by so fast.
We went to San Diego last week. Have to say we stayed at a very out-dated resort by Sea World. Jack picked it out and did not like it at all. I tried my best not to say anything :rolleyes1

Have missed all of you and will try and ketchup later.
